Your signature and linter errors

Just a reminder that your signature contains obsolete font tags. They create Linter errors, and it is advised that you change your signature to [[User:Scribblingwoman|<span style="color:#666699;">scribbling</span>]][[User_talk:Scribblingwoman|<span style="color:#666666;">woman</span>]] ASAP.

Important Work

Important Work Barnstar
A second barnstar?? Well I'm really impressed by Mothers of the Novel: 100 Good Women Writers Before Jane Austen which I think is of top importance. Great work from you and Dale Spender - which I hope will disrupt the status quo. One of our problems is that there are too few women who "history" noticed in the 1700s... so great to see work that highlights those who did make a mark for improving our account of Women Writers. Victuallers ( talk) 07:31, 20 September 2022 (UTC) reply
Dale Spender's book is central. It is so important. I don't understand why it is not still in print. Well, I guess I do: so many of those women are now known. But it is mainly down to her and the few others doing similar work in the 1980s. Thanks for the barnstar! I could get used to this! — scribbling woman 15:41, 20 September 2022 (UTC) reply

Hello, perhaps it is too early, but I was wondering why you created a disambig. page for Hannah Robertson although there are not more than one Hannah Robertson on Wikipedia. Also, I cannot find any sources on an English Hannah Robertson (autobiographer), but I do see a few references to a Scottish Hannah Robertson who lived in 1724 1807(?). Thanks, P,TO 19104 ( talk) ( contribs) 21:35, 9 August 2023 (UTC) reply

Hi! I am working through a list of red links on a page of missing articles for a Wikiproject, and noticed that some of the links, including Hannah Robertson, looked live, but in fact led to articles about other subjects with the same name. As it is a list that I and others are actively working on, I went ahead and created a disambiguation page so that no-one working from the list would think that an article already existed when it didn't. Re. Robertson: there is info. about her in Janet Todd's A Dictionary of British and American women writers, 1660-1800. Thanks for the info. re. her nationality; I have changed the reference on the original list. — scribbling woman 22:13, 9 August 2023 (UTC) reply

Hello, Scribblingwoman

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Ted52, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Mrs Harley, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Ted52}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}

Thanks!

I know maybe C20th is not your era! But you might be interested in this I made from (mostly) wikipedia pages (Some you may have made?) https://stefan-szczelkun.blogspot.com/2024/01/the-pioneers-list-of-some-british.html You maybe thinK the claim that "Ethel Carnie Holdsworth was the first working-class woman in Britain to publish a novel in 1913", is absurd? Szczels, I sent you a DM but to anyone reading this also interested, see Mary Davys and Ann Yearsley for two early labouring-class women novelists. It's true, though, that in the main, women writers who identified as labouring-class in 18thc Britain published mainly poetry, I suppose for obvious, practical reasons. — scribbling woman 20:57, 28 January 2024 (UTC) reply
