Hi MusikAnimal, Since you are the only one who has edited Special:AbuseFilter/633, I assumed this would be the right place to ask this: The "canned edit summary" tag doesn't show up when the edit is for a section only, i.e. when the summary starts with an arrow and the name of the section in italics. I can't see how G8 applied to Portal talk:South Korea. Could you please check your deletion? -- John of Reading ( talk) 18:43, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi the reason I deleted your passage was because it was plagiarized.
(Redacted)
Is taken, verbatim, from the following source: Nyhus, E., & Barcelo, F. (2009) "The Wisconsin Card Sorting Test and the cognitive assessment of prefrontal executive functions: A critical update" Brain and Cognition 71, 437-451
The following passage is from the abstract of the above paper
(Redacted)
First, you have clearly plagiarized the work which is not acceptable. If you wish to present information you should do so in your own words. Second, you purport to make a claim that does not offer any evidence to the contrary. If you wish to post an article about a neurological assessment it is not reasonable to post only one side of the story. The WCST is a validated, empirical assessment that is able to measure executive function with respect to a variety of impairments. However, your article is biased and it is questionable, based on the fact that you have plagiarized half of it, whether the information presented is accurate. I am not saying that Nyhus 2009 does not offer a valid criticism, however you do not report how the test was developed, what populations it has been validated on, or what the reliability of the scale is. It is my opinion that in order to make Wikipedia a CREDIBLE source for information that 1) no work should be plagiarized, and 2) articles should present information in a balanced fashion. Your article does not seem to accomplish this. Deleting that passage seemed to resolve the two above conflicts.

Hey,
MusikAnimal,
I have a question about recent changes patrolling I'm seeing. I was checking on the edits of an editor I interacted with before and I found it wasn't unusual for an editor to get multiple warnings for the same edit. Look at
User talk:80.5.150.10 for October 2015 and you'll see within minutes, the editor had three warning messages about the same edit.
Is this an unavoidable part of using editing tools like Twinkle? It just seems like overkill and if it is an out-of-character edit, the mass of warnings would discourage any editor from continuing. I understand placing warnings on talk pages is part of the process of fighting vandalism but it would be nice if editors looked at the talk page first to see if there already was a warning or if Wikipedia had some feature like patrolling pages which crossed off an edit if it had been addressed by another editor. What do you think?

I uploaded 2 pictures and both were taken down, also I can't log in. says no user by that name. https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Zygmunt_Szcz%C4%99sny_Feli%C5%84ski&oldid=685883624 you will see the text about the pictures, but no pictures. and also in the Polish version of the same page: https://pl.wikipedia.org/?title=Zygmunt_Szcz%C4%99sny_Feli%C5%84ski&action=history If you can look up the saved pictures of St. Felinski, there are about 20 odd pictures from books and paintings and the Order of nuns that he started. Near the end there are two (or were) pictures of St.Peter's Basilica one during the day and one at night. They both have the large portrait of St. Zygmunt Szczestny Felinski in the middle. alt=Muj Pra-Pra-Pra-Woj|thumb|230x230px|My Great-Great-Grand-Uncle 167.88.17.232 Ironically, on the Polish version, in the history my pictures show up but they were stripped off by another user.( talk) 21:18, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
Picture of canonization Oct 11 2009, Centre portrait (my Great-Great-Grand Uncle). having troubles uploading, youtube has my bells too.. This text alone will not insert any media. You need to use the appropriate syntax. The full instructions are at WP:IMAGESYNTAX. I see you did upload a photo on our Commons, viewable at File:Felinski3_October11_2015.JPG. Is that photo appropriate for the Zygmunt Szczęsny Feliński article? Could you explain why? I will help you add it to the article — MusikAnimal talk 21:39, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
Unfortunately my Polish is not fluent, but thank you for finding my pictures again, yes that is one of the pics, they are important as this was the day and night of the canonization. When officially my Great-Great-Grand-Uncle was titled a saint. I flew to the Vatican and to Poland to greet people and bring back pictures stories of others and books for my parents and friends. I also have short video clips on youtube under the same name. St. Felinski was bishop in Warsaw when there was no Poland, the church was all but outlawed and he defied the cruel oppressors and got exiled to Siberia for 20 years for it. He never gave in and never gave up. He built a church, convent and orphanage. He wrote many books on doctrine and helped the locals. One of the miracles attributed to him was after the local farmers were pleading for help in a super dry year, St. Felinski prayed and a spring welled up, allowing the farmers to irrigate their fields. This spring still bears his name. I have a picture of a number of book covers and a second with the backs so that if people want to do research on him they know where to order them from. ( I have not uploaded them yet.)In times of trouble, we often forget how easy we have it today, and as they say history repeats. the last two pics on the bottom are mine.: https://pl.wikipedia.org/?title=Zygmunt_Szcz%C4%99sny_Feli%C5%84ski&diff=43837167&oldid=43748274 167.88.17.232 ( talk) 02:56, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I am new to WIKI creation and seen this message recently after I submited one new article. Am I doing it right? I created a WIKI page for a Novel and want this to be available under WIKIPEDIA. hh:mm, day month year (UTC)
and that would fix it in this case, but if you had put (UTC)
after the timestamp you entered it would see that. So, I could instead match the timestamp end the end of the line, so like hh:mm, day month year (UTC)[END OF LINE]
. That would correctly identify the resolution timestamp in probably 99% of the cases, but I know of at least one user who has a custom sig/timestamp system that puts a period after their timestamp, so it wouldn't work for them. I guess I should match the last instance of hh:mm, day month year (UTC)
, not checking for the end of line? Hopefully I am making sense. —

Read this in another language • Subscription list for this multilingual newsletter
Since the last newsletter, the VisualEditor Team has fixed many bugs, added new features, and made some small design changes. They post weekly status reports on mediawiki.org. Their workboard is available in Phabricator. Their current priorities are improving support for languages like Japanese and Arabic, making it easier to edit on mobile devices, and providing rich-media tools for formulæ, charts, galleries and uploading.
Educational features: The first time you use the visual editor, it now draws your attention to the Link and ⧼visualeditor-toolbar-cite-label⧽ tools. When you click on the tools, it explains why you should use them. ( T108620) Alongside this, the welcome message for new users has been simplified to make editing more welcoming. ( T112354) More in-software educational features are planned.
Links: It is now easier to understand when you are adding text to a link and when you are typing plain text next to it. ( T74108, T91285) The editor now fully supports ISBN, PMID or RFC numbers. ( T109498, T110347, T63558) These "magic links" use a custom link editing tool.
Uploads: Registered editors can now upload images and other media to Commons while editing. Click the new tab in the "Insert Images and media" tool. You will be guided through the process without having to leave your edit. At the end, the image will be inserted. This tool is limited to one file at a time, owned by the user, and licensed under Commons's standard license. For more complex situations, the tool links to more advanced upload tools. You can also drag the image into the editor. This will be available in the wikitext editor later.
Mobile: Previously, the visual editor was available on the mobile Wikipedia site only on tablets. Now, editors can use the visual editor on any size of device. ( T85630) Edit conflicts were previously broken on the mobile website. Edit conflicts can now be resolved in both wikitext and visual editors. ( T111894) Sometimes templates and similar items could not be deleted on the mobile website. Selecting them caused the on-screen keyboard to hide with some browsers. Now there is a new "Delete" button, so that these things can be removed if the keyboard hides. ( T62110) You can also edit table cells in mobile now.
Rich editing tools: You can now add and edit sheet music in the visual editor. ( T112925) There are separate tabs for advanced options, such as MIDI and Ogg audio files. ( T114227 and T113354) When editing formulæ and other blocks, errors are shown as you edit. It is also possible to edit some types of graphs; adding new ones, and support for new types, will be coming.
On the English Wikipedia, the visual editor is now automatically available to anyone who creates an account. The preference switch was moved to the normal location, under Special:Preferences.
You will soon be able to switch from the wikitext to the visual editor after you start editing. ( T49779) Previously, you could only switch from the visual editor to the wikitext editor. Bi-directional switching will make possible a single edit tab. ( T102398) This project will combine the "Edit" and "Edit source" tabs into a single "Edit" tab, similar to the system already used on the mobile website. The "Edit" tab will open whichever editing environment you used last time.

I think it would be a good idea, if the bot wouldn't change {{
noadminbacklog}} to {{
adminbacklog}} on the
WP:PERM subpages due to just a single open request. This change was previously only made if there were at least four of them. What do you think?
BTW shouldn't the prerequisite checks only be done for un-handled requests? (See
this. User is a sockpuppet and probably most of the created articles were deleted per G5.)

Hi MusikAnimal,
Thanks for your comments and advice in my RFA. I appreciated your indispensable contributions. It has never occurred to me that I was doing the wrong thing at WP:PERM. I only felt I could help in that area but never knew I was doing it wrongly. I have so much passion for Wikipedia and this drives me to look for thousands of ways to improve the encyclopedia. Your comment that "I'll just be outright that my impression of Wikicology has never been good. " is worrisome and demoralizing. I know you're probably not happy with my activities in that small corner of admin backlog (WP:PERM) but I only try to help in my capacity as a volunteer. Sorry to have disappointed you in the past. The second-ever GA Cup is now over! The competition officially ended Thursday. Congrats to everyone who participated, and especially to our finalists. The winner of the 2nd GA Cup is Zwerg Nase! He earned 408 points, over 100 points more than he earned in all previous rounds. He tied with our second-place winner, Sturmvogel 66 with 367 points, in number of articles reviewed (24), and they earned almost the same points for reviewing articles that were in the queue the longest (Zwerg with 322, Sturmvogel with 326). Basically, they tied in points, but what made the different for Zwerg was the advantage he had in reviewing longer articles. It seems that the rule change of earning more realistic points for longer articles made a difference. All of our contestants should be proud of the work they were able to accomplish through the GA Cup. Congrats to these worthy opponents! Our third and fourth place winners, Johanna and Tomandjerry211, also ran a close race, with 167 points and 147 points respectfully. We had one withdrawal; we found it interesting that competitors dropped out in Round 2 and 3 as well. One of the original judges and co-creator of this competition, User:Dom497 stepped down as judge during Round 3; as stated previously, we will miss his input and wish him the best. The judges were pleased with our results, even though fewer users competed this time compared to our inaugural competition. We recognize that this might be due to holding the competition during the summer months. We intend on looking more closely when we should conduct this contest, as well as other aspects of the GA Cup. We've set up a feedback page for everyone's input about how we should conduct the contest and what rule changes should be made. If you have any ideas about how we can improve things, please visit it and give us your input. Again, thanks to all and congratulations to our winners! Please stay tuned for the start of GA Cup #3. I noticed that you turned me down for autopatrolled rights. Can I try again after I have the 25 articles needed? I just wanted the rights because I am sick of somebody trying to delete an article yelling "it's not notable" when they have no idea about the subject or even the category it falls into. (Most people not familiar with horses, which most of my articles are about, don't seem to get that just because a horse didn't win the Triple Crown doesn't mean it's not notable enough for an article. In fact, out of the 300+ horse breeds out there, only one is eligible to run in the Triple Crown.) Anyway, I would like to try again after I have 25 articles. Hi, MusikAnimal. Personally, I don't need the extra information in your message (how many edits are to be reverted and the user name of the editor) since that info is on the line I just clicked/pressed and if I don't know what I pressed then it was an accident, but yes, including that info doesn't hurt either (Except I'd rather use my one-liner directly in my common.js instead of downloading an additional script file for that). Here are a few things I would change in your script's code to make the code nicer in my opinion:
(function() { ... }());
( e.target.innerText.match(/\d+/) || [null] )[0];
if(!confirm(message)) return e.preventDefault()

What do you think?

https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Zygmunt_Szcz%C4%99sny_Feli%C5%84ski&oldid=685883624 you will see the text about the pictures, but no pictures. and also in the Polish version of the same page: https://pl.wikipedia.org/?title=Zygmunt_Szcz%C4%99sny_Feli%C5%84ski&action=history If you can look up the saved pictures of St.

( I have not uploaded them yet.)In times of trouble, we often forget how easy we have it today, and as they say history repeats. the last two pics on the bottom are mine.: https://pl.wikipedia.org/?title=Zygmunt_Szcz%C4%99sny_Feli%C5%84ski&diff=43837167&oldid=43748274 167.88.17.232 ( talk) 02:56, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

hh:mm, day month year (UTC)
and that would fix it in this case, but if you had put (UTC)
after the timestamp you entered it would see that.

I think it would be a good idea, if the bot wouldn't change {{
noadminbacklog}} to {{
adminbacklog}} on the
WP:PERM subpages due to just a single open request.

(function() { ... }());
( e.target.innerText.match(/\d+/) || [null] )[0];
if(!confirm(message)) return e.preventDefault()
