Book references

Hi When your posting book references, even if they are in external links, don't post a spam link like [1] That is shop, which means its promotional breaking the Terms of Use. Use sites that hosts these books and are recognised sources, like Google Books, Guuteberg, various archive, Internet Archive and so on but never a shop selling it. If you creating a book reference, use the full citation, and use WorldCat to find the details, which is an index of all books (in the modern sense) to form the citation. The cite book template in the editor window gives various url lookup fields, so if you put in a google reference for example. Taking a look at an example: [2] on Classic google books. You can use this part [3] as a lookup in the url field and it will auto populate it. Hope that helps. scope_creep Talk 07:00, 26 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Also don't post your own books as references. WP:SELFCITE applies and you do seem to have similar names, so if you are the author, you need to declare it as you seem to have a WP:COI. It is considered an WP:SPS source and will be removed. scope_creep Talk 07:04, 26 April 2024 (UTC) reply
