Can you please do something about this? There are a small group of editors that keep harassing me by constantly insulting me and then requesting that I be banned. It has gotten well out of hand and I feel that the bureaucrats as a whole need to step and tell them to stop it. Here is an attempt by them to get me banned Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#User:Wiki Greek Basketball. I am 100% confident that there must be some kind of site policy that is against trying to wrongly get people banned and doing it simply out of some sort of hatred or personal issues. I don't know what exactly to do about this other than to report it directly to a general group of people. That is why I am telling you and all the others directly about it. Because reporting it on the noticeboard is not working and does not work. As long as only a small group of people are involved they are able to harass you and get away with it. Please kindly tell these editors to stop harassing me and to not bring any false abuse reports against me again and please tell them to not attempt to wrongly ban me again. I thank you very, very much if you will help me with this. Thank you sincerely for any help as it will be greatly appreciated. Wiki Greek Basketball ( talk) 09:46, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
Hello Kingturtle! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 14 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 942 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{ unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Sir,
I wanted to discuss with you the birthplace of Ahmad Shah Durrani. I think we have had this discussion before, and I see, someone keeps reverting the birthplace from Herat, Afghanistan to Multan, Pakistan.
Please look at the references provided for his birthplace being Multan, they consist of 1 ) Encyclopedia Britannica, which first of all can hardly be considered a historical reference, since it itself uses sources and none are provided and there is a question mark next to his time and place of birth.
Second, there is a website called the "Forum for Area Studies and Information Center" . Please tell me how this "Forum" can be considered as a historical reference when it is merely some persons own opinions with not a single reference on the page any sort.
Finally, there is the Multan City Chamber of Commerce website. Again, I do not need to explain that a City's Chamber of Commerce website should/cannot be used a historical reference for a piece of information for which all of Afghanistan would fight.
Sir, these are attempts by people to undermine the ruler/founder of Afghanistan and has very important implications for many people, and you guys are taking the "Opinion" of the few, backed by what can hardly be called "sources" and putting information on there that is offensive to millions of people.
I have provided you actual sources from books and historians that are credible but contemporary and from the past, and will do so again if you request this, but please change his birthplace from Multan, Pakistan back to Herat, Afghanistan where it is and should be. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Afghan25 ( talk • contribs) 07:58, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

Hello,
I didn't change the reference but my own research suggests strongly that the concept of "racial literacy" was actually originated by sociologist France Winddance Twine in a journal article of 2004.
I will research this further and will attempt to contact professor Twine. It is possible the that concept as developed by Guinier may actually be somewhat different than that of Professor Twine. Both seem to have published something with this term in it at about the same time.
I will follow up and let you know what I have discovered ASAP.
Thanks for listening/reading. Canticle ( talk) 07:55, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
I know that you have not yet responded to my earlier post but I have obtained information from Professor Twine on the "racial literacy" issue. I have received a communication from professor Twine as follows:
Dear Mr. Cronin
Thank you for your inquiry regarding my use of the concept of 'racial literacy'. I am very familiar with the work of Lani Guinier. We were both in the same class last year at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences.
My concept of 'racial literacy' is not the same as the concept of 'race literacy' as conceptualized by Professor Guinier. I use the term to refer to a form of parental labor employed by parents to teach their children how to name, recognize, resist and manage forms of everyday racism. I use the term to refer to a form of socialization or teaching that enables people to cope with the institutional forms of racism that Professor Guinier addresses in her work on 'race literacy'..
I have been developing this concept in a series of articles beginning in 1999 and most recently in a 2004 article.
Sincerely,
Professor France Winddance Twine
- Hide quoted text -
France Winddance Twine Professor of Sociology at the University of California - Santa Barbara Chair , Race, Gender & Class Section of the American Sociological Association
And so I have followed through on reverting the article to my original. Perhaps a separate article should be done on Guinier's concept of "race literacy". I will look into doing this if I have the time next week.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely, Canticle ( talk) 07:42, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi Kingturtle, this is 3swordz. There is a user, user:SikhGill001, that is continually spamming the Gill (clan) article, who was formerly using numerous ip's to do so and has now created an account, perhaps to avoid semi-protection against ip's. His edit summaries are abusive, and his edits are nothing more than aggressive OR. I was wondering even to bother with warnings since his goal is obviously singular. if you could perhaps semi-protect the page against unestablished editors or something, or block this user if they are a sock (which I feel may be the case) that would be appreciated. 3swordz ( talk) 18:19, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
It seems that you are on a sort of break; I will try to keep the mentioned page clear in the meantime, and try not to break any policies. I should add that this editor's contributions are confined to downgrading this already-troubled page only with OR, and has broken 3RR (I have also had to revert back, admittedly). To summarize: used multiple ips, is limited in contribution to one article, has used abusive language, and adds unfounded OR. I've warned 3x through edit summaries; that may not be procedure but I'd like to check if the account is a sock to even bother with a talk page. Thanks. 3swordz ( talk) 08:13, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

I found some old vandalism in Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin, an article that you edited many years ago (in 2003!). Part of the text you added back then is what was removed in the vandalism. In the year that the section was missing, the rest of the article got expanded and sourced, but this section I recently restored doesn't quite fit now. I've been trying to find someone who has access to the sources used in this article, in the hope that the restored section can be sourced and fit in better with the rest of the article. Would you have time to look at the section on the talk page? I've tried stepping through the history to find who added most of the new content, but haven't found it yet. [...] Though having looked again, I've now worked out I should be asking Mtpascoe. So I should probably not save this post, but I thought you might enjoy looking at an article you helped start 7 years ago! Carcharoth ( talk) 20:50, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi not sure how this works but thought i would explain what a goak is and why i think it should be included on wikipedia. Goaks have become a term used by online fans of afc wimbledon who listen to home and away matches at a virtual stadium called iplough lane. All matches have a live commentary and also a chat facility for fans to talk to each other while listening to the match. another feature of the stadium is a written commentary posted on the site for people who cannot recieve the live audio commentary. Several years ago during a tense game AFC Wimbledon scored and in his haste the commentator updated the score with GOAK instead of GOAL. After much mickey taking the fans have adopted GOAK when urging the team on ie "come on we need a Goak !!!". As the number of fans who are new to these commentaries (both home and away supporters are allowed to join in) is growing , the question "What is a goak?" is being asked more and more. Now not knowing how wiki works could you please tell me how i can get Goak included, or why it would not be allowed. Many thanks Wayneindevon ( talk) 07:52, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi,
Confused as to why our Wet Personal Lubricants page was deleted as it was no different then the KY or Astroglide pages. We referenced national health studies that had been published, using articles from outlets like BusinessWeek and LA Times referencing not just Wet but several different lubricant brands...how was this promotional when we hyperlinked to six different lubricants? The beginning was stating who and when Trigg was founded, and the Pop Culture References are no different then the pop culture trivia other pages mention. Please explain. Good morning,
Due to the lack of a Software Process Achievement Award (which is an important software award in the IT world) article on WP, I created it using the official text from the IEEE Computer Society and SPA websites. I referenced all the sources, and also referenced the press release of the award being received by PSL company.
If that is what is causing the conflict of interest, perhaps you could just remove that particular reference and not the whole article which is not against the WP:COIN terms as is written with a neutral point of view.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration regarding this matter.

Hi Kingturtle -
I recently posted an article about a company/brand in Washington, DC called "Become an EX". I wanted to know why the article was deleted and wanted to see if you can help me in any way get the article live. In the deletion log, it says "promo" next to the article name. If this does stand for promotion, how can I make the article less promotional? The article is written by a third party point of view and highlights what the brand/company does and its history. My dad is severely addicted to cigarettes, and I want him and others to be educated about this brand. The article is also written on a non-bias level, so it's up to people to read and make decisions themselves. Plus, it doesn't promote Become an EX, it just states the facts. Dear Kingturtle, I posted a new article about the artist Patrick Jennings Brady that I hoped to return to with further citations including more extensive press coverage. Before I had a chance to add many more press clips (assuming that that is what determines "notability") the page was deleted. Should I try to post again with added press clips? How many press clips would be needed to prove "notability?" It is interesting that we conflate "notable" with Google. Turns out that the New York City free newspaper "Street News" did a front page article on Patrick Brady but because the paper shut down before there was a google, this notable secondary source does not turn up in a Google search. Hi Kingturtle, I see you have deleted the article I created about NorgesEnergi. The first time you deleted it I understood it was because it was too much like an ad-text. That's why the second article I created was much more on focus, using a template that many article about companies are built upon. After that I've had a long discussion with WikiDan61 about the content and sources. I have tried to fulfill his requests, and he has not given me any signs that he will delete the article after my latest updates. Is there some way one of you can explain what is wrong with the article now since it has been marked Spam and been deleted? Here is an attempt by them to get me banned Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#User:Wiki Greek Basketball. I am 100% confident that there must be some kind of site policy that is against trying to wrongly get people banned and doing it simply out of some sort of hatred or personal issues. I don't know what exactly to do about this other than to report it directly to a general group of people. That is why I am telling you and all the others directly about it. Sir,
I wanted to discuss with you the birthplace of Ahmad Shah Durrani.

I want to write an article on this book (http:\\malaysianmaverick.com). This book, and the subject of this book are both controversial and significant to us as Malaysians. Please assist me on how not to write in promotion tone. Thank you. -- Huayi ( talk) 16:03, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi Kingturtle - hope I'm doing this right, as I've never used this talk feature.
Looks like you are the Deletion King - I'm working on adding references and content to a new article I am working on and it is suddently deleted. What's up? Don't see how it is promotional like most of these as The organization has been dissolved for nearly 4 years. And I haven't been able to put in the references yet that show it is notable... -- StevorinoCasino ( StevorinoCasino) 16:03, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
I recently got my submitted page removed :( and the notification linked here. I kind of understand why it was removed but I'm still curious if you removed it as an administrator or just another user. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Immunmotbluescreen ( talk • contribs) 20:55, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
The theory about him bringing together Geithner and Summers are well documented. Is the misunderstanding on your defintion of the word, 'theory'? Anyways censorship is worse than criticism, besides nothing non-factual is being posted. thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.17.219.53 ( talk) 06:14, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
I've reworked it. Hope you like it. Kingturtle ( talk) 00:22, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for implementing my request for username change. I have changed the appearance of my signature, which failed to happen automatically - I do not know if it should have done so, but suspect not. No problem. But I have lost all of my contributions history. Is it recoverable? -- Anthony Bradbury "talk" 17:16, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
It may take over a month. Just wait it out. Kingturtle ( talk) 00:23, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Why did you remove the page? I created it because of a dead link from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA in the section on Criticism OglethorpesFriend ( talk) 19:21, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Not really sure how this was ever promotional. I thought maybe it was an error but after a 2nd delete I see it wasn't. No need for me to do it again. Is there just something in the bio? JBrownLW ( talk) 02:03, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
According to the Wikipedia Ballestrini is endorsed by Sennheiser, and an editors pick on If I Can Dream. And I suppose that makes her somewhat notable, although I've added a notability tag to her article. Kingturtle ( talk) 02:37, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
How can one make a case that a company is 'notable' if you delete the post (literally) 10 minutes into the first edit? I had just started?! ~~gsal99~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gsal99 ( talk • contribs) 15:13, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
~~RaeRaeSerenade~~Why did you delete my teen top page?. you NEED TO STOP DELETING PAGES JUST LET PEOPLE KNOW ON THEIR PAGE. MAKING A PAGE IS HARD.. PLEASE DON'T DO IT AGAIN. DO YOU WANT SOMEONE TO DELETE YOUR PAGE? QUIT TOUCHING PAGES OR I WILL DELETE YOUR PAGE, I PROMISE. HAVE A GREAT DAY. You're not even a professional on wiki. Like I said if you touch my page I will have wiki delete yours. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RaeRaeSerenade ( talk • contribs) 05:02, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi there; further to your comment of five days ago, in which you suggested to get back to you if my contribution history did not catch up with my userpage within 48 hours of your implementing my name change. It has not. Five days. It's not critical, just convenient. -- Anthony Bradbury "talk" 16:07, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Can you please guide me in what I can do to publish the article? Thank you! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ally Exy ( talk • contribs) 01:40, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
What became of your idea to start a NV project? You seem like a decent guy, and I think if we started it together, it might turn into something useful. As our first task, we could try and tackle the distinction between different NV articles. — Sebastian 22:33, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
I think to have it an official WikiProject, it needs to be approved. User:Optigan13 closed it as not created. I think we need to re-open it to get approval. Of course, I could be wrong. Kingturtle ( talk) 20:47, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Which article? Rich Farmbrough, 00:14, 26 August 2010 (UTC).
I removed the image you added to Cinder Cone and the Fantastic Lava Beds. The article already has too many images, IMHO. I can't see having two pictures of the crater. Sorry. – droll [chat] 00:32, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
How many press clips would be needed to prove "notability?" I have citations from a number of newspapers, magazines, and even e-zines, in the United States, but thought I'd start small. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RikkiAbzug ( talk • contribs) 04:32, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
It is interesting that we conflate "notable" with Google. Turns out that the New York City free newspaper "Street News" did a front page article on Patrick Brady but because the paper shut down before there was a google, this notable secondary source does not turn up in a Google search. Google searches on Patrick Brady (even with "artist") turn up tens of thousands of articles, but finding the "right" Patrick Brady is near impossible. Shall I try again with the (pre-Google) print citations? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.84.179.131 ( talk) 05:13, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Yup! I have an Art News! Plus features in Cigar Aficionado magazine--with an international audience! Am I ready to try again? 67.84.179.131 ( talk) 17:18, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks to both Kingturtle and Sebastian--you've been more than fair and patient as I learn the ropes. I'll get back to the piece with all the new sources and I'll see what happens. It's been a pretty fun learning curve! 67.84.179.131 ( talk) 00:44, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
How come your user page has a PageRank of 5? That's pretty darn high for a user page! — Sebastian 22:59, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Regarding this, sorry I was a little ambiguous in my wording of both the poll and my edit summary. I was trying to prevent your !vote in the "None" section from appearing to support that idea to somebody who just takes a cursory glance at the numbers. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 05:05, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
So you understand why I did that: The instructions say "For each of the three questions, leave a !vote and a rationale under the subsection that best describes your views." That implies leaving for and against comments. I have changed it to a comment. Kingturtle ( talk) 17:53, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
I haven't been on Wikipedia long, and didn't realise when I created my account that the first letter would be capitalized. So now I want to have the first letters of both my praenomen and my surname capitalized, by changing my username from Vickreman.chettiar to Vickreman.Chettiar, and I was told that you have the administrative ability to perform the change of username. I'll wait for the change of username before making any further edits at Wikipedia. Thanks{ {unsigned|Vickreman.chettiar}}
I will do my best to fulfill the requirements, but at this point I am a bit confused. Sennikken ( talk) 09:59, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

New user Kaki joe may be a problem. He/she changed population data in the Tajik people article without citation and to values that do not comport with other sources. He/she, although the account is newly created, made a very sophisticated edit at Afghan refugees, here adding a name in Pashto and calling a script template. I have not had time to review his/her other edits. -- Bejnar ( talk) 18:10, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
This IP [4] has been vandalizing many of the articles by adding an unofficial term "Hazaristan" and has been changing statistics and ethnic-linguistic data on many of them. -- Inuit18 ( talk) 23:02, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
A discussion has begun about whether the article Suicide of Tyler Clementi, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Suicide of Tyler Clementi until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Guy ( Help!) 12:46, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I was wondering if the {{od}} template really caused a numeration glitch for your browser as you indicated here: [5]. It does not seem to in my browser. I'm running Firefox 3.6.12.
ScienceApologist ( talk) 15:34, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
It didn't on my browser.
Did that cause an error in your browser? If it did, we should probably report it to Bugzilla.

Hi, you recently changed the rights of VernoWhitney ( talk · contribs) after his successful RFA, but left the Reviewers and Rollbackers rights in tact. Aren't these two redundant to accounts with administrative rights? — ξ xplicit 23:49, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
I don't know how you give another user a warning so I'll give you tip here instead. Among MOBA-games the genre on each page has been changed to "Action RTS" with a reference URL which leads to DotA 2's FAQ, but that page doesn't even mention action RTS even once. This is an serious issue in a semi-serious page. False referencing can not be allowed.
Here is the link History of the HoN page, dota genre -> Action RTS. Revision as of 23:04, 5 November 2010 by DarthBotto
I've recently edited MOBA so that it covers what is said in DotA (genre). DotA genre just sounds wrong so it can be deleted now.
