I see you cleaned up the Bernard Lee article a little. The edit removed a number of quotation marks from the titles of news articles. The news article titles include the quote marks. I'm not sure is the MOS has a rule on this, but if the title of an article used is "Blind Man's Buff", shouldn't the Footnotes reflect that - regardless of whether the auto-format adds in a pair or not? The problem is that there are some articles which are referred to in the footnotes as "Blind Man's Buff" and some as ""Murder in Motley": A mystery in which the audience are involved". - SchroCat ( ^ • @) 06:32, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

The reason the links don't go to the countries involved is that the links go to what they represent during simulation exercises. Tierra Del Diablo is Fort Irwin and Mojavia is the Mojave Desert. The Kingdom of Parumphia is Nevada, the People's Parumphian Army (PPA) is the Nevada National Guard, The People's Parumphian Guerrillas (PPG) and Parumphistan is a disputed territory between Nevada and California. The Republic of Baja is Mexico. The Russians / Krasnovians, Iraqis / Samarians, and North Koreans / Hamguls were simulated by the OPFOR and each distinct army had its own fake nationality, uniform and insignia. It is fascinating how intricate the play acting is. Hotspur23 ( talk) 04:03, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

It's great to have someone review my edits. Thank you so much.
As for you question "how could funeral already continue for seven days when it's only 13 May now?", it should, in fact, be said that the funeral will be held for seven days. But it's my laziness to edit the sentence in the next seven days, so I wrote it in past tense. Ha ha, but please forgive me.

I noted some of your recent comments and wanted to see if you saw this issue eye-to-eye with me. My personal view is that currently ITN is the most subjective and least professional segment of the WP main page, and by far. Sometimes you see blatantly non-notable articles posted, other times you see articles that are barely a skeleton, hastily constructed simply to fulfill the 'update' requirement, and other times yet you see perfectly good, encyclopedic articles rejected on very dubious grounds. There needs to be some sort of streamlining and balancing. DYK has a very good and objective evaluation process. OTD is standard encyclopedic fare. And FA represents the best of the best. What the hell is ITN? Just a sub-standard concoction of mob opinion. As it stands, I believe the ITN section is an embarrassment unbefitting of one of the world's top 10 most visited websites, not to mention it does not do much to advance our encyclopedic mission. Colipon+( Talk) 19:02, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
Part of the trouble with Science articles failing to get posted is, in my view, because it is hard to come up with a sufficient and conclusive blurb. Let's say there is research on diabetes that has negated or validated a vast body of past research, and that it is getting a lot of coverage on Sci-am, Nature, etc. How do we come up with a blurb about it? We can't. The beauty of science is that it is ever evolving, but ITN demands a milestone or a conclusion (this many people died, X team won, this guy is elected). I believe that to become more encyclopedic, the blurb structure has to go. Colipon+( Talk) 02:25, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Hi. Just to explain; I'm not sure of what the deal is here, but "RookPost" is an anonymous automated news aggregator of some sort that someone has been spamming across Wikipedia. It doesn't contain anything that isn't copied from elsewhere, probably from legitimate news sources. So I've been removing the lot. They've been going for high profile articles with current news stories, often adding cites in the lead paragraph to things that are already more than adequately sourced. -- Escape Orbit (Talk) 21:03, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Hey! I removed it based on the documentation for the Cite News Template which states this:
"publisher: The publisher that publishes the news source (not to be used for the name of the news source itself; see the newspaper parameter). This is commonly omitted for major publications. In some instances (e.g. many UK newspapers), the publisher is the company or organization that owns the publication. In all American newspapers, the publisher is an individual person, whose name will be found on the masthead. There is never any need to cite this person in a reference. This parameter should normally be left blank."
If work italicizes it, maybe using newspaper won't? In any case, it does state in no uncertain terms that this parameter should normally be left blank. Why shouldn't BBC News be italicized? Thanks for your diligence though! Jeancey ( talk) 18:41, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Can you please show me in which of the referenced references in your recent edit on UNRWA the quote by Brown is used? There are three references in the passage. Part of the passage you included - "The new books have removed the anti-Semitism present in the older books while they tell history from a Palestinian point of view."
I also am confused why this long paragraph is given such weight, while the previous paragraph about CMIP doesn't even contain any quotes. Furthermore, how come CMIP's response to this isn't given either ( http://web.archive.org/web/20050318214051/http://www.edume.org/react/brown1.htm)? Thirdly, why are the views of a professor doing a short summary as he writes in the first reference given such heavy weight and such a long paragraph, as though they knock out what CMIP wrote in their report, and as though this is a lengthy and time-consuming research project with a lot of resources invested? Fourthly, why is Electronic Intifada referenced and used as a source of information, when just reading the article they wrote (they are not a media outlet) shows how opinionated and biased they are (which they don't hide either, the site is not founded to be neutral but rather is anti-Israel) and is clearly not an RS, and what they write should not be taken at face value. For these reasons, I would appreciate either an explanation or a revert... -- Activism 1234 00:06, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

Once again, thank you and nice to know you :) -- Aristitleism ( talk) 18:45, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

Re your recent good faith edit to this list. Did you not see the {{ under construction}} at the top of the list? I'm still working on the expansion of the list and hope to complete it in the next day or so. Once I'd finished the expansion, I'd have done clean-up such as ordering refs so that they appear in numerical order. With the various lists of shipwrecks by year, please do not add a line break between individual dates. These lists work fine with a line break at the end of the month. Lists of shipwrecks by month are broken at each date. Mjroots ( talk) 05:25, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
