Better source request for File:Bad as Me.jpg

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot ( opt-out) 21:29, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Primal_Scream_-_More_Light.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Primal_Scream_-_More_Light.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse ( talk) 17:23, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

RE: Confusion (album)

Hi. You picked up my GAN for Confusion (album) a couple of weeks ago and was wondering when it might get started. Dan56 ( talk) 05:38, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

The article Between the Times and the Tides you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Between the Times and the Tides for comments about the article. Well done! Diva Knockouts 14:22, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

not a big deal - but i'm wondering why this warranted "undiscussed genre addition" but this warranted a disambig? if i'm honest... refs in the infobox are ugly but i can understand their purpose ( WP:GENREWARRIOR) - but consistency is important as well! Kaini ( talk) 00:44, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

At the time of this edit, Allmusic just had ambient and downtempo listed among the genres, but later added IDM when the added the prose review. It should be safe enough to move the ref elsewhere in a few days after some anons (as you mentioned GENREWARRIORs) calm down. Idiotchalk ( t@lk) 11:37, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Tomorrow's Harvest (again)

Great work on this article mate, well done. Just a quick query: in this edit, you removed parentheses from the non-{{Rating|x|y}} scores - no problem with this at all, but is there a style-guide somewhere that discusses this being the correct format? Cheers! — sparklism hey! 13:18, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Thank you—and sorry for only getting around to this now! It was discussed just over a year and a half ago at the template's talk page and has been common practice since. -- Idiotchalk ( t@lk) 05:04, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

I'm not doubting GuitarGeek's accuracy or reliability, it's just that the source is already used as a citation five times throughout the article (reference 1a–e) and available as part of the reflist. It seems superfluous to link it again. -- Idiotchalk ( t@lk) 16:03, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Rowland S Howard in 1999.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Rowland S Howard in 1999.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Skeleton Tree

You do not need to change all the references on Skeleton Tree to manual references. Album chart templates are fine to use. Many featured articles use them. Anyone who comes along and adds peaks to that article are going to add album chart templates. Ss 112 12:42, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

The manual references are used to reference prose the "Commercial performance" section and again for "Chart positions", preventing two instances of the same reference. The album-chart templates, while admittedly handy, also often render incomplete references and are susceptible to overlinking (for instance, the two instances of Ultratop). -- Idiotchalk ( t@lk)
You can do this with refname with in the album chart template. Two links to Belgium's Ultratop in the same section is the only one that is going to be repeated. Please stop changing this, because as I said, all new peaks added to albums these days are album chart templates. They're not incomplete references how they are; they are Wikipedia-standard. It is unnecessary to type out new manual references every time. Ss 112 13:48, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for clarifying about the refname parameter, I was unaware it was part of the template. But in regards to the incomplete referencing, one of the templates renders a citation as:
instead of:
where both the website and published are defined, as well internally linked (where possible).
There's several instances of this and other errors; for example, one of the autogenerated citations listing IRMA as the publisher of the Chart-Track website, which is incorrect as GfK is the correct publisher.
I'm not completely opposed to use of the template, but find these problems too significant to use it for each instance when manual referencing would be more accurate. To compromise and prevent an edit war, I'm considering editing the problematic references with{{Album chart}}'s manual referencing parameter to keep use of the template in the article but correct the citations (however, in the template work is used in place of website and there's no language parameter so it's somewhat difficult to work around).
An example of this would be:
{{album chart|Flanders|1|artist=Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds|album=Skeleton Tree|rowheader=true|M|url=http://www.ultratop.be/nl/album/4c36b/Nick-Cave-&-The-Bad-Seeds-Skeleton-Tree|title=Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds – Skeleton Tree|work=''[[Ultratop]] (in Dutch)''|publisher=Hung Medien|accessdate=16 September 2016|refname=fl}} -- Idiotchalk ( t@lk) 15:35, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, that's fine. I haven't seen the manual markup in the template used in that way before, but it works. Also, I think GfK merely re-publishes the data found at irma.ie. IRMA does collate the data; obviously GfK publishes Chart-Track but I'm assuming they have some deal with IRMA to do so. I just used the manual album chart for the Norwegian albums chart (keeping the artist and album parameters for when Hung Medien updates at norwegiancharts.com). Ss 112 16:35, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited A Winged Victory for the Sullen (album), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Mojo and Uncut ( check to confirm |  fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Disambiguation link notification for September 26
