Hi, I'm unsure how to report this but this IP user is making the same edits to Powhatan as blocked accounts User:Powhatan Nation and User:The Powhatan Nation. Yuchitown ( talk) 19:19, 10 September 2023 (UTC)Yuchitown
Well, now I understand why you've treated me so poorly. But is that really how you want to play it at ArbCom? That I waited 8 years before even touching any of that sock farm's articles (you did notice that before you posted, right?), and then when I did start editing them I removed all the poorly-sourced material that the sock farm had added, and somehow that makes me a banned user? And that I waited 17 years to do the same to Celtic reconstructionism, which I only became aware of during the move discussion (which I chose not to respond to), and which wasn't even on my radar for COI until it got brought up by other editors? Perhaps you should look closer at my edits to those articles. Sure, I was aware of the sock farm; it's part of my process to read the talk pages. But given that my behavior with respect to those articles is the opposite of said farm? That's gonna be a hard sell, I think. Skyerise ( talk) 22:19, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
P.S. Before you ask, because I hate seeing good editors shoot themselves in the foot. Skyerise ( talk) 22:25, 12 September 2023 (UTC)

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is Long-term meatpuppetry by two admins. Thank you. -- Tamzin[ cetacean needed (she|they|xe) 22:06, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
You are involved in a recently filed request for arbitration. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case#CorbieVreccan, Mark Ironie, and Tamzin and, if you wish to do so, enter your statement and any other material you wish to submit to the Arbitration Committee. As threaded discussion is not permitted on most arbitration pages, please ensure that you make all comments in your own section only. Additionally, the guide to arbitration and the Arbitration Committee's procedures may be of use.
Thanks, -- Tamzin[ cetacean needed (she|they|xe) 19:05, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
I'm shocked but so glad you are joining me in retirement! The stink is pretty rotten in here, let's go find a more pleasant atmosphere so we can finally ditch these uncomfortable gas masks. <3 [ [1]] Indigenous girl ( talk) 23:26, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
The Arbitration Committee has resolved by motion that:
Mark Ironie ( talk · contribs) and CorbieVreccan ( talk · contribs) will be considered a single user for Wikipedia's purposes. When editing the same articles, participating in the same community discussion, or supporting each other in any sort of dispute, these editors must disclose their connection and observe relevant policies such as edit warring as if they were a single account.

Yes, please come back if/when you can. I enjoyed our recent collaboration, but there's still more to do in that area – as in so many others. Best regards, Justlettersandnumbers ( talk) 09:00, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
I didn't see this before now and my heart sank further. I am torn because I have been in a similar position in the past and had to remove myself from public for a time until it was resolved. But I also know the project, and in particular Indigenous topics on Wikipedia, will suffer with you gone. Of course you have to choose your health and the safety of your family but you will be missed, Corbie. I hope you will be able to return one day. It will be sao good to see you again. For now, go in peace and may a song follow you wherever you walk. -- ARose Wolf 15:17, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
Will miss your voice here. Thank you so much for all the contributions you made and all the leadership you have shown. Best wishes for all your new endeavors! Yuchitown ( talk) 02:56, 22 September 2023 (UTC) |
Hello CorbieVreccan,
Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!
October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.
PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.
Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.
Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.
