- Hi, about the naming dispute, I'd personally also go for the simpler title (though I have no real strong feelings either way). But don't bother with Arbitration, they wouldn't take the case. It's a content dispute, the arbitrators don't deal with those, I can guarantee you 100% your case would be rejected at once. The pages related to Macedonia are a focus for a lot of bad feeling and very bad behaviour. Please try to avoid making personal remarks and digs at other editors. In this edit: [1] you specifically singled out another editor by name as a nitpicker with no original contribution of their own. Nothing good can come of that. It is deliberately causing trouble. All kinds of people have all kinds of contributions, and presuming to judge in that way is actively corrosive of the the atmosphere here. I am certainly not going to play the game of twenty questions of sorting out what exact words are a personal attack and who was named. You aren't stupid; figure it out. I am not going to try and persuade you of anything. I'm asking you to try and be positive on the talk page and not to snipe at other editors. - Hi Capricornis, Thanks for the comments on the Macedonian alphabet article. The accented letters section is a legacy from the current article. If you think there is no Ô in Macedonian, than I am happy to delete it, or place a {{fact}} tag. As for the pictures, I uploaded them, but because they are not tied to an article, they were deleted. I'll just upload them when the article goes live. Just two points:
- I am inclined to leave out the word "current" in the line "the current area of the Republic of Macedonia" since the reference to RoM implies that it is current. It also may imply some irredentism my implying that the future borders of the Republic of Macedonian may be different... I think that's an argument that doesn't need to be had!
- I am also inclined to leave out the comment "and the principles that the serbian educator Vuk Karadjic set" from the description. Perhaps a better wording may be: "The alphabet was similar to, and influenced by, the Serbian Cyrillic alphabet, and used the same phonemic principles employed by Vuk Karadžić in his development of the Serbian Cyrillic alphabet."
- Anyway, I will make the changes in the sandbox article -- let me know what you think.

Hi. Could you please help me with this? I've been looking at Macedonian Cyrillic and have noticed there is a difference in italic script from Standard Cyrillic. But I think this is wrong. I'm looking at a book in Macedonian right now and the italic script is different from both the standard and the "Serb/Mac" script:
The Be looks like standard (kind of like a six)
The Pe looks like Serb/Mac (like a I with a line on top)
The Te looks like Serb/Mac (like a She with a line on top)
The De looks like standard (like a backwards six)
The Ge looks like neither (it looks like a backwards 's' with a line on top)
I know I've seen this in many other books but another one that I have has completely different letters in italics. Do you know if there is a consistent version of Macedonian Italic Script? Alex 202.10.89.28 ( talk) 07:53, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- My point was the Macedonian one in the article that is mentioned seems incorrect. If it's not relevant it should be removed, but if anybody considers it relevant it should at least be correct. I have no idea about Serbian, but from most sources that I've seen the Macedonian one is different to both the versions mentioned in the article. za zhal nemam mnogu vreme da posvetam na wikipedia vo posledno vreme. previshe trud za premalku dobivka. premnogu bugari i grci so premnogu slobodno vreme, ne mozham da se natprevaruvam so niv.. inace za makedonskiot mislam deka mi e na dosta dobro nivo, koga se ima u predvid deka edvaj sum go koristil u poslednite 14-15 godini :)
Inaku pred dosta vreme napishav edna statija za edno selo u makedonija na makedonskata vikipedija i nekoj (admin?) non stop mi ja smenuvashe deka seloto biloo 100% makedonsko, ili 'se cisti makedonci' .. jas mu se skarav malku i mu pisav deka toja fakt e nerelevanten, ali mi izgleda deka ultra-nacionalistichkata vena e mnogu silna tamu, a jas ne se soglasuvam so toa..

It's funny (well, not hilarious, but still) how most knowledge about various Macedonians and Macedonian organisations is anecdotal. Seriously, I've met so many Egejci here in Australia, some who even have wiki articles, who would simply be considered "Greek Australian" based on their last name, even by the Vardarci here. If I were to edit the articles, however, it would just be removed as unsourced. That's just the way it is. Back to the point, I hope you get all the information you need from the MPO guys. The pages related to Macedonia are a focus for a lot of bad feeling and very bad behaviour. Please try to avoid making personal remarks and digs at other editors. In this edit: [1] you specifically singled out another editor by name as a nitpicker with no original contribution of their own. Nothing good can come of that. It is deliberately causing trouble. All kinds of people have all kinds of contributions, and presuming to judge in that way is actively corrosive of the the atmosphere here. I am certainly not going to play the game of twenty questions of sorting out what exact words are a personal attack and who was named. You aren't stupid; figure it out. I am not going to try and persuade you of anything. I'm asking you to try and be positive on the talk page and not to snipe at other editors. - Hi Capricornis, Thanks for the comments on the Macedonian alphabet article. The accented letters section is a legacy from the current article. If you think there is no Ô in Macedonian, than I am happy to delete it, or place a {{fact}} tag. As for the pictures, I uploaded them, but because they are not tied to an article, they were deleted. I'll just upload them when the article goes live. Just two points:
- I am inclined to leave out the word "current" in the line "the current area of the Republic of Macedonia" since the reference to RoM implies that it is current. It also may imply some irredentism my implying that the future borders of the Republic of Macedonian may be different... I think that's an argument that doesn't need to be had!
- I am also inclined to leave out the comment "and the principles that the serbian educator Vuk Karadjic set" from the description. Perhaps a better wording may be: "The alphabet was similar to, and influenced by, the Serbian Cyrillic alphabet, and used the same phonemic principles employed by Vuk Karadžić in his development of the Serbian Cyrillic alphabet."
- Anyway, I will make the changes in the sandbox article -- let me know what you think.

Hi. Could you please help me with this? I've been looking at Macedonian Cyrillic and have noticed there is a difference in italic script from Standard Cyrillic. But I think this is wrong. I'm looking at a book in Macedonian right now and the italic script is different from both the standard and the "Serb/Mac" script:
The Be looks like standard (kind of like a six)
The Pe looks like Serb/Mac (like a I with a line on top)
The Te looks like Serb/Mac (like a She with a line on top)
The De looks like standard (like a backwards six)
The Ge looks like neither (it looks like a backwards 's' with a line on top)
I know I've seen this in many other books but another one that I have has completely different letters in italics. Do you know if there is a consistent version of Macedonian Italic Script? Alex 202.10.89.28 ( talk) 07:53, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- My point was the Macedonian one in the article that is mentioned seems incorrect. If it's not relevant it should be removed, but if anybody considers it relevant it should at least be correct. I have no idea about Serbian, but from most sources that I've seen the Macedonian one is different to both the versions mentioned in the article. Inaku pred dosta vreme napishav edna statija za edno selo u makedonija na makedonskata vikipedija i nekoj (admin?) non stop mi ja smenuvashe deka seloto biloo 100% makedonsko, ili 'se cisti makedonci' .. jas mu se skarav malku i mu pisav deka toja fakt e nerelevanten, ali mi izgleda deka ultra-nacionalistichkata vena e mnogu silna tamu, a jas ne se soglasuvam so toa..

It's funny (well, not hilarious, but still) how most knowledge about various Macedonians and Macedonian organisations is anecdotal. Seriously, I've met so many Egejci here in Australia, some who even have wiki articles, who would simply be considered "Greek Australian" based on their last name, even by the Vardarci here. If I were to edit the articles, however, it would just be removed as unsourced. That's just the way it is. Back to the point, I hope you get all the information you need from the MPO guys.
