Deletion discussion about Nelson City, Texas

Hello, Blake675,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Nelson City, Texas should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nelson City, Texas .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/hrbmr. Wikipedia and copyright

Control copyright icon Hello Blake675, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa ( talk) 14:10, 24 June 2016 (UTC) reply

Replaceable fair use File:Welfare, Texas.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Welfare, Texas.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. –  Train2104 ( t •  c) 17:15, 2 April 2017 (UTC) reply

Replaceable fair use File:Riley Reid.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Riley Reid.jpg.

You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –  Train2104 ( t •  c) 21:41, 5 April 2017 (UTC) reply

What exactly is your plan for this article? The content has largely been merged into Ford Island.--v/r - T P 23:04, 13 April 2017 (UTC) reply

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hondo Army Air Field, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - KAP03( Talk • Contributions • Email) 23:48, 26 April 2017 (UTC) reply

Your RFA

With all due respect, I think you may want to withdraw your RFA nomination. You have less than 1,500 edits total, only 16 of which were to Wikipedia space, and I've never seen a candidate with similar statistics pass. I think it would be wise to withdraw your nomination for the time being and continue to do good work on Wikipedia, rather than subjecting yourself to the RFA gauntlet. Your RfA ( Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Blake675) had technical errors and has been removed from the listing. If you really want to reapply you will need to fix these, however I suggest you do not at this time and review Wikipedia:Not now. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 02:12, 6 April 2018 (UTC) reply
  • I have reverted your transclusion of Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Blake675 since you hadn't answered any of the questions and it was malformed. Per the advice above, I'd encourage you to wait a bit before standing at RfA. If you want, simply reply here, and I can delete the RfA subpage for when you are ready to run so it wouldn't be a second request. You of course, have the right to run if you want, but I do not think it would be successful at this time. TonyBallioni ( talk) 02:13, 6 April 2018 (UTC) reply
Also, if you would like additional rights, consider requesting those here. If you want to pass RfA, you should try to get involved with the of the community in doing things like participating at AfDs, RfCs, or in vandalism fighting. L293D (  •  ) 02:33, 6 April 2018 (UTC) reply

Hello, Blake675. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Buccaneer stadium, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Madison titles

The standard on all junior drum corps is to list only DCI and the 3 "Nationals" contest titles--- American Legion, VFW & CYO... Any others, including DCI Regionals, are only titles fot that specific show... CYO probably should be considered only a show title, since it was an invitational, but it has always been considered to be a "Nationals"... Several other shows sometimes billed themselves as "Nationals" but really were not considered to be such except by themselves, including the American International, the US Open, the Dream, the World Open, et cetera...

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Camp bullis and standly fire 2011.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Camp bullis and standly fire 2011.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy.

Replaceable fair use File:Frank Collin.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Frank Collin.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

Can you please share where you seem to be obtaining 2017 (?) population estimates for the minor US territories?

Spirit of Eagle ( talk) 02:10, 6 April 2018 (UTC) reply

  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page
