Well, people have made mistakes before. For example this rant claims that Family First were presumably "into the Iraq war like a rat up a drainpipe" when the policy platform was that they disapproved of the invasion. (I sent them an email in December 2004, and they're yet to correct the statement) The article originally talked about Howard "vociferously" supporting the war, which is hardly NPOV language. Even if he weren't in favour of the war and conscription, he may have decided to stay silent to avoid giving the North Vietnamese comfort. Even though we suspect it, we can't assume that he did hold the same views as his party without evidence, nor does add much to talk about the views of his party as evidence of his own inconsistency. For eg, after the Vietnam war the Liberal party decided that South Vietnamese who had assisted the Australian forces should be evacuated. So long as it's from a reliable NPOV source, well ... I still wouldn't exactly be thrilled about the inclusion, given that one person wanted it included in order to paint Howard as a hypocrite. My opinion was formed by reviewing both articles, and noting that there was very little to say about Mr. DelEzio. The only real notable facts, in my opinion, are his award and his award nomination, and of coarse that he's the father of Sophie. Other than that, he's just not that notable. I agree with Eusebeus. Your article was nominated for deletion. The majority of people believe it should be merged/deleted. The people who contribute to AFD understand that Wikipedia runs by consensus, they review the article as it would appear in a normal encyclopedia and form their opinion. I too have had articles I felt, and still feel are notable enough to be in Wikipedia and have been deleted via the AfD process. Hi Albatross. Actually I am an ex-Adventist, but still have an interest in Adventism --hence my contribution to the Wikipedia articles. I wouldn't personally call the Adventists a cult, but I think some of their beliefs are definitely not mainstream Christian. I think I can be fairly NPOV because I want neither to glorify nor denigrate the church.

To clarify those terms for you: "Pentecostal" is a style of Christianity which focuses heavily on the Holy Spirit, miracles and worship. The Assemblies of God (AOG) are a denomination which are Pentecostal, and Hillsong is part of AOG. I have removed the Wp links you inserted to the articles on both the mythical and historical persons who happen to share the same names as the characters in the strip. My understanding is that the author of the strip does not intend that the characters should be perceived as referring to the mythical and historical persons. Generally, protection or semi-protection is only warranted for a round of really bad, uncontrollable vandalism - that doesn't appear to be the case yet. Sorry, but I had to take out the image you placed in the Calamondin article. Calamondins have very small fruits, typically an inch in diameter and are used for cooking when green. I think you will find that Horus has left WP. He has not edited since April. That is a great pity because his knowledge of UK Scouting is great and he has helped to keep an international flavour to our articles on Scouting. On you beef about the Boy Scout article I agree with you in part. I think part of the problem is that the Project wants it to be about the boy, while the related articles such as Cub Scout start with "A Cub Scout is a member of the section of the worldwide Scouting movement for young persons". Rover Scout is similar. I have argued before that the article should be focused on the section and not on the boy, because as you say many such sections contain girls. However, this is confused by the use of "Scout" for Girl Scouts and the general English word "scout" which predated the Scout Movement. The solution is not obvious and it needs careful thought. The BSA project members are acting in good faith and they are trying to keep our articles international. Actually, the subject lives in California. It makes me wonder if the article was actually written at all by the folks seeking to delete it. What exactly is the problem with the pictures? Some were from my collection, some uploaded by other collectors and a few were obtained with the permission of Emerson, himself? The US honors dual-citizenshipfor 2 countries only: Ireland and Israel. (I have friends of Greek and Iranian ancestry and those countries recognize it to six generations even if the US does not).

Both of my parents were born in Ireland and did have to renounce their Irish citizenship when they became US citizens (actually my dad's was Australian, long story). Seven hills

I am not sure what you mean by dropping the image of the station, could you please explain further. With the Gallery I thought there was enough text there for its own section and I don't see how this could cause any harm as no text or images were removed. I also thought that the un-sourced information in the gallery was a bit much for a caption, thats why I turned this into its own section. I have just been through the page history and noticed that the picture of the station used to be in the gallery. Hmmmmmmmmmm, Sounds like I am in trouble for something. I don't know, you seem upset my good fellow. I cant see what I have done wrong here. I am not quite sure that images can be used as references. I don't know where those pictures where taken and only someone who lives there or passes by would no the area, I also don't think the photos prove all the facts stated in the text. Hmmmmmmmmmm, I am not that concerned about you reverting my edits and I don't know why you are so upset. You mention a train station image, Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I don't recall removing any train station images, I do not remove images unless I take a picture of my own that is of superior quality, which they normally are. And I can also reply on you talk page in a civil manner which I have. Also whoever wrote text in that article should be pleased that I gave it a more prominent position. Thats all I can think of at the moment. One more thing, if someone has removed an image all you have to do is go through the page history and retrieve it and restore it, its quite simple . You seem to be attacking me over little or nothing, why don't you just revert the Seven hills article, I think this should give you some peace. Also the text that I contribute involves going through 10 to 15 different sources, to piece out information to add to the article. I really don't think that me adding things bit by bit really concerns you, I have a high work rate when it comes to adding text (lately), now I am going back to add small amounts of content to some of the articles that I created from scratch, for this involves going through, like I said before 10 to 15 different sources of information, the article in question is almost finished but still needs a bit of polishing up and thats what I am doing. About your train station image, the one that you are accusing me of deleting, well I don't know any thing about that, maybe it got deleted for being a copyright violation or it could be in the page history, or maybe it never existed in the first place. I also think you need to tone it down with your attacks, for some reason I think you may be harassing just for the sake of harassing someone. As you say: "I have decided if you can't beat 'em you might as well join 'em" So I have set up a page for my local award winning sausage maker, Paul Conway (butcher) to demonstrate what happens if the biography areas are allowed to include anyone who has ever achieved anything notable. I think he is the first butcher ever to get a page of his own, I even had to set up new categories for him. What a pain! That said his fillet steak is commendable.... Hopefully if folk realise that anyone can set up a user page on wikipedia, then either we simply agree that anything goes, or at some point someone draws a line in the sand. You are right in saying "Conway actually seems to be notable - at least from this article". I suppose it broadens the concept of what it notable to include a butcher - the first on Wikipedia, but not I think, the last! Well, considering how very minor some of the actors and athletes who merit an entry, it would be mere snobbishness not to let the butchers, bakers and candlestick makers get onto the site, as long as they win a few competitions and do their job well like Paul. Maybe you thought this was Uncyclopedia it isn't about humour, you were trying to make a point and failed. If the article had been out right stupid, I would have nominated it for deletion, as it was you created an article about an individual who has had national media coverage on more than one occasion and regular local media coverage. It could be sourced about and the coverage was not all trivial.

Hello. In view of the Afd of Mr Peters might I suggest you do an article on the wreck of the Dundonald and incorporate the Peters information in that? There's several good sources for it on the web, [3] and [4] and [5] for instance. This would enable the information on Peters to survive and more context to be given. Re: this - setting aside the personal attacks you made against me, I want you to know that I never promote articles on the basis of the fact that I like them - it's a non-consideration. In fact, I generally err on the side of not promoting articles (regardless of whether or not I like them).

The FAC rules, as I am interpreting them on that nomination, are identical to other situations. Where inactionable objections are concerned, the test is "Can something be done to fix the objection?" (as written at the top of the page). Where notability is concerned, we use the oft-repeated rule that FAC is not AFD and we assume a-priori that anything nominated there is notworthy and potentially featurable. (And you are welcome to nominate it on AFD) As far as the pronoun gender issue - I'll defer to whatever they hash out on the manual of style, if and when they ever do manage to hash it out to a satisfactory conclusion. No one is claiming that a visit by an angel is a fact. But to say "Smith said an angel visited him" does not accept that it is true. It is essentially synonymous with "Smith claimed an angel visited him". But in line with WP:AVOID, it's more NPOV to just report what Smith said and let the reader decide what to believe about it rather than use "claimed", which can subtly suggest what the person is saying is not true. The mention of the sex abuse scandals in the lead has been quite controversial, and it has been my position that putting them there at all constitutes WP:UNDUE weight, but that since most people read more newspapers than books, many editors will try to add ill-formed sentences of dubious accuracy saying something about them in the lead, and to prevent that, even though it violates WP:UNDUE, we should put a brilliantly prosaic, well-referenced, NPOV sentence there. You are welcome, of course, to contribute, but any change in the lead should probably be mentioned on the talk page. It might also help to know that the RCC article recently went through a very contentious FA review, which it failed, so there are a number of editors who know the article pretty well right now, and might be able to help address your concerns adequately. You may have heard that Australia is to have its very own 'chapter' of the Wikimedia Foundation - and further, there's a meeting coming up to discuss / enact the chapter's incorporation (details here). I'm afraid that I don't know too much about the details of what this entails, other than having a private hope that we might get a secret handshake, and maybe cheap coffee at wikimania (this is a poor attempt at humour - I'm sure that the Chapter's do great work, and it's a good thing that Australia is to have one).

Hey Albatross2147, thanks for adding the National Film & Sound Archive info to the articles for Aeroplane Jelly (and " A Pub With No Beer"), but next time can you please be a little more careful - you linked one reference to the Australian Dictionary of Biography entry for Bert Appleroth, instead of the ABC website, and the other didn't use a citation template when all the other citations in the Aeroplane Jelly article use templates. Just a quick comment: browsing through PAUL McGRATH's article, i found your reinstatement of a sentence (now properly referenced) with this "charmer" towards me (YES, ME, since I was the one removing it, i will proceed further on this message to explain why i did it): "re-inserting material removed by Ita supporter who probably knows more about diving than football"...CHARMING. Guess what, i am PORTUGUESE, not ITALIAN, and only removed it because it was UNREFERENCED (now it is, cool, good job, i only removed it because it seemed vandalism, i was wrong, i can be wrong sometimes, CAN I?), and if anyone should be doing something properly with this bit it's YOU, not ME (check your sources, that heroic by McGRATH, a player for which i have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration, is 100% true (OK again, good job again), but IRELAND was NEVER LEADING 1-0 because ITALY WON 1-0, with a SCHILLACI goal).

As i said, i left the bit you reinstated, only now i relocated it to INTERNATIONAL CAREER, properly arranged, without vandalizing anything as the ITALIAN MOBSTER YOU think i am. A good opportunity there was missed on your part to say...NOTHING!!

I owe you, at least in part, a SINCERE apology. That incident of McGRATH and BAGGIO referred to the WC 1994, not 1990 and there, most certainly, IRELAND won 1-0 (as opposed to the ITALIAN triumph, also 1-0, in the previous WC edition), so you had your sources right. I sincerely apologize to you in this aspect, and acknowledge i also missed a big chance to...ZIP IT!

I tell you that, upon discovering my gross mistake, IMMEDIATELY proceeded to correct all my wrongdoings, properly arranging storyline duly, although still leaving it in "INTERNATIONAL CAREER" (it was an international game, was it not?).

Why did i say "apology in part"? Because of your personal attack upon reinstating this bit (remember? "re-inserting material removed by Ita supporter who probably knows more about diving than football"). Not the manners, but you stick with your actions, the way i stick with mine, disposing of/apologizing for the ones i am not comfortable with, as this was the case now. I apologize again.

Thank you for your further comment - this time without a snide personal remark, I note. You're absolutely right - I was in too much of a hurry. WP:WPSCH/AG is more relevant than WP:NOTE - and has a section on alumni inclusion criteria; Eiss is probably a marginal case, I guess. By the by, looking at the guidelines also reminds us that the section generally needs proper referencing (as does the article as a whole - it's been in a pretty dreadful state, and although I've tried to copy-edit, it's still ropey). Please be civil in your communications. I've seen removed for being not citated for 2 months. Anyone can challenge uncited info in Wikipedia under WP:CITE#CHALLENGED, even Jimbo Wales once said "In general, I find the ^{citation needed} tagging to be overdone in Wikipedia. A better option is to nuke the unsourced material. Sometimes fact tag is warranted, I don't mean that it is always a bad idea. But it is overdone." With regards to the Commonwealth VC issue, no problem. I felt you were insinuating that I was making a comment on the nature of the awards, specifically by using the words "colonial" etc. I was over-tetchy on the subject I feel, and for that I apologise. It is down to how different people interpret the written word, something that is widely open to interpretation on the internet. This edit, I have no problem with, thought I must admit, I don't know what a "comprehensive" school is.

OTOH, I am not particularly amused by this edit comment: "happy now all you public education haters?".

Independent of who it is aimed at, it doesn't exactly "assume good faith".

Given that it was me who did this edit and made the comment: "ALL institutions in Oz "registered" as "schools" are, to varying degrees, "publicly funded". ALL of them. The variation is the percentage. Even "public" schools are not 100% "publicly funded".", I would guess that your edit comment is aimed at me.

If not, who was it aimed at?

If so, I am somewhat unimpressed that you have taken a statement of FACT, decided it was a statement of opinion, and categorised it as having been made by "a public education hater". I was recently apart of founding a task force, so this is the story. For several months, I would not only contribute to Christian films, groups, etc., but I'd also see other users working on similar articles. I really wanted to create a project for us to work from. Filmcom contacted me about trying to get a task force going, so we began working together on it. When it appeared the idea was dying, we continued to fight, and several other users joined! Thanks to the efforts of many users, I'd like to introduce you to the Christian films task force! We are currently having a bot tag all Christian film-related articles, and we are working to define our project scope. We now have our own icon and shortcut ( WP:CFTF), with ten users signed out thus far - these are just some of the things that have been happening in the last few days. We did however lose one FL and 1 GAs over the past month, but we still gained overall. Member news It was a big month for new members, with User:SixGreenFish, User:Invmog, User:Unconsumed, User:TheThankful, User:Noghiri, and User:1111tomica joining, bringing us up to 286 listed members. Thanks to you all, and a special welcome to our new members! Other news There is some new discussion regarding project related activities, specifically including the various Christianity portals, at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/General Forum and the possible expansion of the extant Narnia task force of WikiProject Novels. We gained new recognized content in each field, with 4 FAs promoted, 2 FLs, and 3 GAs. Congratulations and a big thank you to all those who worked on these articles! Member news It was a big month for new members, with User:RandomNumberSee, User:Per Ardua, User:Muzhogg, User:Arlen22, User:Scotchorama, and User:Jaybird vt joining, bringing us up to 292 listed members. Thanks to you all, and a special welcome to our new members! Other news I am still working on the categorization matter. With any luck, we should have some results by the end of the month. There are also some discussions regarding project related activities at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/General Forum. One issue in particular that might be addressed is possible elections of new coordinators. Anyone interested in serving in such a capacity is more than welcome to indicate as much. It has been a long time since the last coordinators election. There is a lot for people to do, and I certainly would welcome seeing any individuals with an interest in such a position put themselves forward as candidates. I in particular would very much like to see some degree of "specialization" in the coordinators, so that, for instance, we might have someone knowledgable about some of the specific Christian faith traditions or other main subjects, like Orthodoxy, Lutheranism, Mormonism, the Jehovah's Witnesses, art, theology, and so on. If any parties who have experience with some of our faith- or- subject-based content would be interested in being candidates, I would love to see them do so. Please feel free to take part in the discussion regading what the minimum number of category items is, and how to deal with the non-qualifying categories, on the General Forum page. There is a backstage pass coming up to be followed by an editathon in the State Library of New South Wales on 23 November. This is the first time that an Australian cultural institution has opened its doors to us in this way and will be a special opportunity because the Library is providing: one of its best rooms; its expert curators (along with their expertise and their white gloves); a newly launched website (containing new resources); and of course, items from its collection (including rare and usually unavailable material) which we can look at, learn from, and use, to improve WP articles. For example, on the chosen topic (Australia and WWI), the Library holds many diaries and manuscripts from the period.

As you can see from the Library's project page, they have connected this editathon with their own work. They have already set out a wide range of resources to make things easier for us.
