I just felt the need to respond to the violent defamation of East Slavic history that occured on the Wikipedia link about Yaroslav the Wise. The main link used as a proof for that alleged Viking classification is highly unreliable because the author of the book Companion to the Calendar: A Guide to the Saints and Mysteries of the Christian Calendar is a well known slavophobe.Mary Ellen Hynes also lacks the most basic knowledge of the Rus state and its rulers yet she dares to classify them as Scandinavians even though these rulers were adherents of the Slavic politheistic religion and later on of Orthodox christianity.
Slavic people are not asking for special treatment, they just want an objective representation of their history on the pages of Wikipedia.
this part is off topic.Rurik might have been a Varangian,a Wagrian or a Finnic tribal chieftain but for some reason(without historic consent)Germanic writers and historians are classifying him and his descendants as mainly Scandinavian? Why is that allowed?First of all,Rurikids were fanatical followers of the Rodnovery(statues of Slavic gods found and Greek-Rus treaties described the naming process of several Rus leaders and their druzhinas being conducted under the protection of Perun and Svarog)
One thing that i know about Scandinavian people from that age is that they were fanatical followers of their religion(they would have never abandoned their gods in favour of a fruitful position in a distant land),they proved that with constant battles against the christian forces in the 9th,10th,11th and 12th century).
Please sir, could you bring back my minor change to that page.I am just doing this in the name of history and objectivity(and i am sorry for missing the part where i had to write an explanation for my editing process)
I find it highly disturbing that a writer who focused her studies on the history of christian holidays calendars would dare to write anything about a complicated subject such as the Early Rus state. Not even historians who spend their entire lives studying this subject would dare to write such informations.Anyone with basic knowledge of the early Rus would call these men as Variags,Wagrians or Varangians. All the theories of the Rurikid ancestry are labeled as disputed for a good reason(historians lack the proof to finalise their enigmatic origin).
Another thing,National Geographic produces magazines that need to sell in order to make money.Vikings, are profitable and likeable. And it is not like National Geographic could make a mistake.
The part where it says that he is the son of a Varangian(viking) Grand Prince Vladimir the Great is ironic if anyone even read anything about Vladimir the Great. The man was an almost fanatical follower of the Rodnovery.Sure,he had distant cousins in the North but does that mean that he is Scandinavian just because his ancestors intermarried with a foreign family?
Yes they were test edits but that article actually is a shitty article. It fails highly to distinguish fact from fiction. A novel about "dragonology" isn't "non fiction". I've read it myself, the book is totally bogus. 71.85.48.131 ( talk) 04:02, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

My schoolmate knew that I had a Wikipedia account, and so decided to vandalize my user page and he was blocked indef by PhilKnight. However, as we were both using school computers, and it is a static IP, I was autoblocked for the second time. But today, GorillaWarfare extended the block to two weeks, and removed my rollback right. (The IP is 61.90.150.20) I am not using multiple accounts. This is a misunderstanding that arose as a result of a schoolmate vandalising my user page from the same IP range. I apologise for the inconvenience but would like to have the block lifted and would like to request IP block exemption and have my rollback right re-added. If I'm unblocked, I would continue vandalism patrolling as I do before. Thank you for your time. Romtam TalkToMe 14:17, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
