I was fixing some vandalism and noticed Andhra Pradesh was split in two. Part of the vandalism was Hyderabad not being the current capitol of Andhra Pradesh. I looked at several pages, including Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, but none says why they were split in two. It also says it was controversial, but not why it was. What's up? Hello, Titodutta. You're invited to join
WikiProject Today's articles for improvement, a
project dedicated to significantly improving articles with collaborative editing in a week's time.
Feel free to nominate an article for improvement at the project's Article nomination board. If interested in joining, please add your name to the list of members. Thanks for your consideration. North America 1000 10:16, 27 August 2015 (UTC) |
Hi Tito, I have seen you doing many wonderful stuff with templates, especially those related to the Kitchen of WikiProject India. I notice there is no generic template on "Indian State topic". If you look at, say, Bibliography of India, it transcludes the Template:Asia topic (with appropiate modifications) and so it creates a bunch of redlinks of "Bibliography of Asia" without having to create the template in itself.
Looking around I found out:
There are probably some other templates which I missed but this are the major ones. All of them can easily be superseded by an "Indian State topic" template. I wonder if you will like to start such a template. Best regards. Solomon 7968 22:18, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
I was wondering would you please delete the old version of the sample? The current version is not appearing due to this. I have purged the cache also. — Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 05:09, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

It has been suggested that Kalpavriksha be merged with Wish Tree which is not desirable as Kalpavriksha is specific to Indian religious cosmology of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Wish tree also covers many other aspects like wells etc. Pl record your views on the talk page of the two articles.-- Nvvchar. 08:01, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
Hello, Titodutta. Cut Like Wound, an article you either created or significantly contributed to, has been nominated to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page as part of Did you know . You can see the hook and the discussion here. You are welcome to participate! Thank you. APersonBot ( talk!) 21:31, 13 August 2015 (UTC) |
Thanks for uploading File:Hergé-Georges Prosper Remi.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hammersoft ( talk) 17:26, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi. The Counter Vandalism Unit is still very much an active project and users regularly ask for training. Please take a moment to update your trainer details at Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy/Instructors. If you are currently unable or no longer interested in being a trainer, either move your details to the list of inactive trainers or remove them entirely. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks.-- Kudpung กุดผึ้ง ( talk) 02:57, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
On 14 September 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Cut Like Wound, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Cut Like Wound is Indian novelist Anita Nair's first work of detective fiction? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Cut Like Wound. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.
As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.
An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.
The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that anyone with access to nonpublic information sign the new confidentiality agreement by 15 December 2015 (OTRS users have until 22 December 2015) to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have access to nonpublic information and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy.
Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. The general confidentiality agreement is now ready, and the OTRS agreement will be ready after 22 September 2015. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign
If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnumwikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 15 December 2015 (OTRS users have until 22 December 2015) to retain your access to nonpublic information. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.
Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (
