Round 3 of the 2014 WikiCup has just begun; 32 competitors remain. Pool G's
Adam Cuerden (
submissions) was Round 2's highest scorer, with a large number of featured picture credits. In March/April, he restored star charts from
Urania's Mirror, lithographs of various warships (such as
SMS Gefion) and assorted other historical media. Second overall was Pool E's
Godot13 (
submissions), whose featured list
Silver certificate (United States) contains dozens of scans of banknotes recently promoted to featured picture status. Third was Pool G's
ChrisGualtieri (
submissions) who has produced a large number of good articles, many, including
Falkner Island, on Connecticut-related topics. Other successful participants included
Cliftonian (
submissions), who saw three articles (including the top-importance
Ian Smith) through featured article candidacies, and
Caponer (
submissions), who saw three lists (including the beautifully-illustrated
list of plantations in West Virginia) through featured list candidacies. High-importance good articles promoted this round include
narwhal from
Reid,iain james (
submissions),
tiger from
Cwmhiraeth (
submissions) and
The Lion King from
Igordebraga (
submissions). We also saw our first featured topic points of the competition, awarded to
Czar (
submissions) and
Red Phoenix (
submissions) for their work on the
Sega Genesis topic. No points have been claimed so far for good topics or featured portals.
192 was our lowest qualifying score, again showing that this WikiCup is the most competitive ever. In previous years, 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) or 100 (2010) secured a place in Round 3. Pool H was the strongest performer, with all but one of its members advancing, while only the two highest scorers in Pools G and F advanced. At the end of June, 16 users will advance into the semi-finals. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Dear "The Herald",
Could you please explain how we can improve the article about PRIMES so that it can be suitable for Wikipedia?
Why aren't the National Science Foundation website and the official MIT website reliable enough?
The PRIMES program is the only all year math research program for high school students in the US.It has dozens of alumni, produced dozens of research papers, and claim dozens of prizes in US science competitions in just 3 years. Why is it not notable?
There are Wikipedia articles about all the similar summer programs:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnold_Ross#Ross_Mathematics_Program
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada/USA_Mathcamp
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hampshire_College_Summer_Studies_in_Mathematics
and it's not clear why PRIMES is less notable than these or why the references in the PRIMES article are less credible than the references in these articles.
P.S. An article about PRIMES in the "Notices of the AMS" (American Mathematical Society) is being currently prepared.
Thank you.

Hi Herald
i have noted your decline. The reason for the decline is referred to notability.
I had done some patient research into different secondary sources of the subject (note I started this work last May13). Reputed English dailies, web-sources have been the main secondary sources for info of the subject (most of which I have linked). I need to understand more on why these sources are being questioned for notability. The last time around (pl check drafts around 09Feb when it was rejected the first time), the entire compilation was verbatim (iwth no syllable changed) from these secondary sources. I was asked to "add value" - without being verbatim alone - and bring about "neutrality", which I have endeavoured to the best of my ken.
While the subject is a research collater he is not a researcher himself. I have read all his works, and have researched all his references - on whose researches his collations are based. A few of these who have www presence, I have linked them as well.
A peer-review of his compilations - most of which are published as books and videos- would need me to look for sources such as book-reviews, and news content providers reporting his compilations, which is exactly what i have done. I fail to understand what is missing here, which disqualifies it from being in the published domain. I am looking for objective inputs from Wiki.
Lastly, over the last few centuries, history's dominant narrative has stifled different ancient knowledge systems. I dedicate my free time ( i am software engineer by profession)to lend my support to those who are approaching these knowledge systems with a scientific temper, revering our ancestors, which have otherwise been consigned to "mythological dustbins". Living in India, which is one of the last outposts of that paganistic world with its roots to the pre-historic world intact, I realize we have a lot to share to the rest of the world, on how the ancient world lived as one family. I look forward to Wiki as a platform for this revival.
Looking forward for your response. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amudha ram ( talk • contribs) 18:03, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

The edit removing Scott Fravala as founder is accurate and common knowledge, I am Ronnie Winter. The band was founded by Duke Kitchens and Ronnie Winter. Edmund Lowman has never been a member so removing him was also accurate. The matter regarding the alleged copyright violation is still under investigation per the fact the band was invited to use the photo by the accredited website so it was also removed. Once the matter is officially and legally resolved it should be posted with accuracy. Other than that everything looks good, thanks.
Hi Herald- I've reworked the image from the RAW file to try and fix/improve the sky. I left it un-cropped as you suggested. If you have a chance, perhaps you could have another look? Many thanks in advance.-- Godot13 ( talk) 18:09, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Hi Herald,
Thank you for accepting the Cloudmachine article. You labelled it 'stub' and I want to try and improve it. Sometimes you spend hours on additional information after which it gets deleted in a flash for being too long or not neutral enough. Could you specify a little bit, how I can improve it? Would be great! Have a wonderful vacation,

Thanks for the review and feedback on our attempt at a new article of Articles_for_creation/Ronald_L._Mondrush.
Your feedback was simply- "Need a trim". Can you elaborate? Or is it that simple, it is too long?
Thanks again,
Dan Delaney

Hello, You have declined a page that I created for Hussein Sabbour. I just need to know what are the reasons behind your decision as he is a notable person in Egypt. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.161.60.251 ( talk) 12:16, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
Please restore the edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.147.120.146 ( talk) 18:10, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
You coming back to this? I've rearranged the images a little to make everything fit a bit more neatly (though I think we should put the Bolbyshell back if there's room for it). Adam Cuerden ( talk) 19:24, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
