As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks for uploading Image:Leoville.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. ( Talk) 11:47, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey Mike, I just came here to leave you a message about the
Adam Boland article and noticed that my name was mentioned above in the section about Rove, so I responded to that as well.
I saw your comment on
Talk:Adam_Boland noting the article was a copyright violation. I've removed all the text I could identify as a copyvio. In future, the procedure for dealing with copyvios is to revert to the last version which does not contain a copyright violation. If there is no version in the history which is clean and if the article was created in the last 48 hours, you can tag it with {{db-copyvio}} and it will be speedy deleted. If it's older than 48 hours, it needs to be listed on
the copyright violation page.
It's great that you noted it on the talk page, but it's much better to get rid of copyvios as quickly as possible by tagging them so an administrator knows to delete it.

I modified the link in your header on this page so that it actually works. The way you had it was causing people to edit a page titled User_talk:Michaelbeckham&action=edit§ion=new instead of adding a section to this page. I've deleted the incorrectly created page. Thanks for uploading Image:Libbi Gorr.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. Thanks for uploading Image:Karen Tso.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talkpage. Thank you. Longhair\ talk 11:20, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Thank-you for your message. Unfortunately, I do not believe what I added to the page was vandalism. This actually happened. The appropriate references are on Jimmy Wales, and I was planning to get them from there next.
I will restore the text as soon as I have these references.

Several users had expressed concerns that the template was too large and provided very little information. For templates, this is often enough reason to delete. The standards for keeping a template are much higher than keeping an article, so with the conerns about space and relative lack of utility, I closed the debate as delete. Hello. I noticed you used the following edit summary on Today (Australian TV program):
I did supply one or two fair use rationales on these images, but for the rest of them I did not feel the use of such fair use images was justified. I am not about to claim fair use unless I am confident the claim of fair use is valid. However, because I recognise that other people may feel such images would have a valid use, and may be able to supply a valid claim, I simply commented the images out, rather than deleting them outright. I hope you understand.
If you feel that the images I removed from the articles in my recent contributions could have a valid fair use claim in those articles, please do provide such a fair use rationale. - Mark 09:34, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Libbi_Gorr.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

Your reversion to Fox News Channel was inappropriate. Firstly, Ann Coulter was not the originating source; she was reporting on Dr. John Lott's findings in "Freedomnomics." Secondly, a source is not required to be "balanced." A source can have a POV, and using a source with a POV is acceptable when it serves to illustrate differing viewpoints on an issue. - MSTCrow 03:37, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi Michael, great work on the vandal-fighting front! I was going through the Recent Changes and I reverted a vandalizing edit of the above user. Since you'd issued a final warning, I sent the user to AIV, but then I saw there was only the one vandalizing edit here, that you reverted. I'm just wondering why you went straight to only warning and skipped levels 1-3? Is there something about this specific IP I should be on the lookout for, like a dynamic IP or sockpuppetry? Just curious. Thanks and keep up the good work. All the best, ~ Eliz 81 (C) 07:56, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Aurora Logo.png. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:37, 11 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Thanks for uploading Image:DanAbrams.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:31, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:HumphreyBearMed.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Michael - Unlike the suggestion in the newspaper article you posted in the FOX Business News entry, Carriage in Australia has not yet been confirmed. I contacted Janet Alshouse the VP for International Distribution at FOX News and FOX Business News who advised that FBN will not be made available internationally until the first quarter of 2008. She also confirmed that carriage deals with Foxtel in Australia and Sky in the UK have not been confirmed. I can send you mt email correspondance with her if you let me have your email address. Thanks for washing away 20 minutes of perceptive writing with your delete key. I am now going to look at what you have written for help. Wikipedia's running would be vastly improved by your complete and utter non-existence.

The content was either relatively old or not that significant. If you want me to move it here, let me know. Thanks. -- JLaTondre 20:46, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

Thanks for uploading Image:10play right.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.

Thanks for uploading
Image:Natgeoadventure.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a
claim of fair use. However, it is currently
orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed.
You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see
our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:18, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:2001cast.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 ( talk) 06:08, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
( [1]) Would be nice to have some discussion somewhere, rather than a brusque reversion. I assume you're up to speed with the discussion at the talk page. -- Dweller 08:53, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
I would like to make a userbox expressing a similar (but not identical) opinion on Fox News, and was wondering if it would be acceptable to use the same color scheme/format as yours. I'll certainly credit you on my user page, or not if you don't want to be. Is this acceptable? -- Anoma lee 14:15, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
