Thanks for uploading Image:Bakkhali_Beach.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Hello - I wonder whether you can help. I found this article that you created recently when checking category:Alumni of Jesus College, Oxford to see whether there were any more names to be added to List of people associated with Jesus College, Oxford (a Featured List, but always room for improvement!). Do you happen to know from your sources the years that he was at the college? He doesn't get mentioned in the leading modern history of the College (JNL Baker's "Jesus College 1571-1971") nor does his Times obituary mention dates (I'll gladly send it to you if you've not seen it - it refers to him as "Sir Evan Cotton", rather than "HEA Cotton"), and I can't find anything on a quick Google search about him and the college. Hi,
I am bewildered as to why you have chosen to change the spelling of "Shantipur" to "Santipur" I am from that city. We all have over the ages pronounced the initial sound with an "sh." The first part of the name, "shanti" means peace. It is spelled with the Bengali letter that is pronounced as an "sh" and not simply an "S" What prompted you singlehandedly decided to change the spelling of this ancient name? Please restore the merge for SHANTIPUR. This is not a matter of regional dialect or regional pronunciation but, correct reference. Just a reminder,Shantipur- Nodia standard(yes it is pronounced with an "O" NOT an "A") is the "cholti bhasha" benchmark. There is a trend to "Anglify" the spelling and pronunciation of many indigenous Indian words. It is sad that most Indians have bought into this wholesale "sell out" of their cultural heritage.

Thank you for your reply to my inquiry.
I have been trying to locate the page for a while now. Now I know why I was unable to. I never dreamed that some NON-Bengali would be editing/altering spelling of Bengali names and words. It seems that you managed to delete any reference to "Shantipur" when you merged the file with "santipur" Thus distroying links to historic figures and other related pages. Good going dude.
It seems that you have been editing pages that you have NO expertise or background in. Assumptions were made based on what was left uncertain on a page and turned into fact with absolutely no other information to corroborate. Someone with more intellectual fortitude would have restrained himself in such ego stroking.
My family is descended from the founder of the city. My ancestors links to the page you keep altering willy-nilly, has been disconnected. Please stop altering the information unless you ACTUALLY KNOW something about the subject and that what you are putting down is truthful. I thank you... my ancestors thank you... and readers thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Siemagirl ( talk • contribs) 08:06, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Dakshineswar Temple.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:41, 9 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. |EPO| da: 09:41, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Just saw the topic on the mainpage... great job on that. You are simply producing at an amazing rate... unfortunately many of the other Indian editors are not (including myself)... but as you mentioned, once I get done warming up (and submitting my thesis) I'll be ready to create a lot of DYKs... by the way, I am just finishing up on Achintya Kumar Sengupta's Kallol jug. It is a fantastic book! Have you read it before? Take care Antorjal 13:36, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Any further information gratefully received! Regards, Bencherlite Talk 19:57, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

I would like to draw your attention on two recent modifications you have made in the article on BAGHA JATIN (Jatindranath Mukherjee). (1) Being a quotation from Nixon, and written probably when Sarala Devi was not yet married, we should leave it unaltered. Please revert it yourself. (2) Tegart reached Balasore once the fight was over; he had just the time to meet Jatin Mukherjee before the latter breathed his last at the hospital. Please revert this, too. Anticipated thanks.-- BobClive 05:50, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
I am wikifying / creating articles related to certain neglected fields of Indian history, and it is a good news that these neglected topics are receiving attention, as fron you. The DYK of Utkala brahmin was improved due to your suggestion, I had no prior experience of DYKs. After that, Shakadvipi was also selected. - Vinay_Jha 12:55, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Another thing i want to know. How to add the links of both the sign and talk-page to some talk page at a go ?? Like, adding the sign File:Http://en.wikipedia.org/skins-1.5/common/images/button sig.png to a talk page gives link only to the corresponding user-page. How to add the link of the User-talk page too ?? Any shortcuts. Like here, when i sign, u will get only the link to the user-page of mine, but not the talk-page. Hope i ve conveyed u the problem. -- Jayanta 13:41, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
I am bewildered as to why you have chosen to change the spelling of "Shantipur" to "Santipur" I am from that city.

The larger body of sea water lying north east of Loch Ness is the Moray Firth. I take it that the name "Murray Forth" on the image is an error for the Moray Firth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lavateraguy ( talk • contribs) 18:36, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
