Cleaning up untagged cats too? sigh :( Satu Suro 08:27, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Did you formally propose a WP:CFD to rename Category:Escapees from Victoria detention to Category:Escapees from Victorian detention and Category:Escapees from South Australia detention to Category:Escapees from South Australian detention? If not, why not? If not, they will be reversed. Please see WP:CFD. The original names were chosen specifically; sub-national government names when used as adjectives on WP are generally left unaltered, even if they appear strange. "Victorian" also has the unfortunate tendency to be interpreted as "Victorian England" or something similar. Good Ol’factory (talk) 19:18, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Was thinking along the lines of what recently occurred with the Peak Hill article, wehreby a number of editors all pitched to ensure that a WA article didn't get deleted. It doesn't have to be along such formal lines as the ACOTF - more along the lines of if there was a pressing need for a particular article to be expanded then there was a noticeboard where that was highlighted so that other editors were aware. Hi there... this is common practice both on News Limited websites as well as Fairfax ones, although at least with Fairfax the headline is usually in the URL, so there's a small element of accountability when stories mysteriously change. Usually it's nothing more than a witty but indelicate headline that bites the dust, but in this case they rather cheekily have completely changed a story sensationalising the corrosion reports to one that not only plays down such reports, but it actually refers to them as if they weren't involved.
As it happens, in this instance I didn't actually write that part of the Wikipedia article... the edit you point to is just one of a series of edits I did to clean up citations (or in this case, someone deleted the full citation that was being hooked by reference at this point in the article causing the citation to break, so I expanded it to include the full citation once more). I might take a look over it later if you haven't got to it first... nicely spotted. -- Rob.au ( talk) 13:32, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
I started adding hoverboxes to the pictures in the Cricket Anniversaries listings, because I quite like them as a way of captioning things. But then I thought maybe others don't like them, so I stopped (after doing about three months' worth). As you're the originator of much of the work that's gone into these lists, I thought I ought to ask you... Johnlp ( talk) 10:17, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi
those charts are calculated by David kent of the Kent Music Report and they are based on the number of weeks and position the records reach within the top 100 singles for each weke. Even though a song may spend less time at number one than another, it may be in the charts for far longer than anything else, which has a bearing on how those charts work. thanks—Preceding unsigned comment added by Rusty201 ( talk • contribs) 12:45, 1 August 2008

The article netting should be ok as long as the categories are correct and it hasn't been misued by the people who are adding the cats....Some guys do categorise people by ethnicity, eg tagging the likes of Khoa Do as "Vietnamese actors" or similar things to Monty Panesar as "Indian cricketers" but apart from those oddities it should be ok. Thanks for your inquiry. Naming Conventions for Stations with Callsigns where there's a government agency requiring the use of those callsigns: "For articles on stations located in countries which do use government-issued call signs, the official call sign should be used." -- Article Naming Conventions. Since that station's name was 96fm, it is an ambiguous name, since 96fm could be misinterpreted as any one locale's 96.1 FM station. Since that ambiguation exists, I created a disambiguation page at the root, and changed that article to the callsign, since the Naming Conventions said it's the correct thing to do. If you still feel that the article should be under it's original name, please comment back!
I spoke with someone who made edits on the Canadian station, who informed me that Canada requires a -FM on all callsigns there, which is ambiguous from the policy page. I will make an edit to that page to clear up the confusion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Silivrenion ( talk • contribs) 16:38, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Got confused with my own comments there for a second!
The 96fm page should be 6NOW because 96fm is such a general name. You probably have a 96.1fm wherever you are... it's not regionally or commercially bounded to any specific known company or group. That's like creating a company that makes cars and making the company's name "Car". Just shouldn't happen, you know?
So either the 96fm takes the more proper 6NOW callsign name, or a hybrid is developed that diffuses the ambiguity caused by the 96fm name, such as "96fm (6NOW), still linked from a 96.1 disambiguation page. What do you think? Silivrenion ( talk) 04:53, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Hmm.. yeah, I can see that you'd use the station name instead... but I guess what I'm getting at is that using that station name makes it a little undirected. I had to do a double take on that page the first time I saw it because I wasn't expecting a single 96fm page, but I would expect a 96.1 fm page listing all the 96's in the world, of which 6NOW is one of them. What do you propose? I think using 96fm alone is misleading. Silivrenion ( talk) 13:19, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
There's only one table you need to worry about ...

So you are putting project talk pages as NA and not a cat - wheres the diff explained in the project that tat is the case? it would be good if i dropped off the perch tonight (hmm) that any following fool tagging cats had an indicator of why that is the case somewhere i'd say - I thought we had gone entirely over to cats for everything - Satu Suro 13:01, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
No problems i realise to 99% wp eds its irrelevent anyway - just with the tagging help for projects its all in the design of the project banner template - maybe there needs to be a cross wikipedia standard - i know of so many variant templates in diff projects its ridiculous - sorry to have bothered Satu Suro 01:14, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
I've added a {{ prod-nn}} tag to this article. He ended up getting a nine month sentence and was then deported home. I don't think it passes WP:N at today's standards. Cheers. -- Longhair\ talk 02:51, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi there... this is common practice both on News Limited websites as well as Fairfax ones, although at least with Fairfax the headline is usually in the URL, so there's a small element of accountability when stories mysteriously change.
Hi, I have just created 2 new Australian charts pages List of Top 40 albums for 1980-1989 in Australia and List of Top 40 singles for 1980-1989 in Australia. Could you please link them into the system? cheers Barry Rusty201 ( talk) 03:37, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi
those charts are calculated by David kent of the Kent Music Report and they are based on the number of weeks and position the records reach within the top 100 singles for each weke.

Rank | Nation | Gold | Silver | Bronze | Total |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Australia (AUS) | 5 | 7 | 8 | 20 |
2 | New Zealand (NZL) | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
