Request for uninvolved commentHi Misza13, I found you at random from the list of administrators. I am currently involved in a disagreement of sorts with an administrator, Raul654, regarding the content of some of the Global Warming articles. I should stress that I am not challanging any science based portion of these articles. I have written up on my talk page an informal request for comment on the situation, here. I come to you with the intention of accepting your opinion regardless of if it leaves me blocked and Raul654 vindicated completely. I am aware that reading through this (and the rest of my edit history, to verify Raul654's own accusation that I am in fact myself a disruptive editor) will take a fair lump of your time and will further respect your decision if you decide I am wasting your time. Thanks in advance, Jaimaster ( talk) 03:43, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Wikinews 4 Leads questionThank you again soooo much for the invaluable Wikinews Importer Bot ( talk · contribs). I was wondering - would there be a way to create a bot to capture only the four headlines, with dates, from the 4 "Lead" article blurbs on the n:Main Page of Wikinews?
I could see this as being useful on Wikipedia at some point soon. If it is too hard, no worries. Cirt ( talk) 16:36, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
They would be dropped into a new page, perhaps titled User:Wikinews Importer Bot/Wikinews Lead articles or something like that. The uses could perhaps be transcluding these 4 Lead article headlines onto pages on Wikipedia (hopefully). Cirt ( talk) 21:09, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
I think I may be thinking too hard about this - perhaps there is some way to use the DPL on Wikinews to have a Wikinews subpage with the 4 leads in this manner? (the way I manually did it as an example at User:Wikinews Importer Bot/Wikinews Lead articles) If so, the current bot Wikinews Importer Bot ( talk · contribs) would be able to update it like any other subpage. Cirt ( talk) 00:57, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Any ideas? Cirt ( talk) 21:15, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Block of Dooooooo0000000000000000000000000000000The username policy doesn't support instant blocks of names like "Dooooooo0000000000000000000000000000000". Were you unaware of this, or were you just applying IAR? The consensus of WT:U is that it's much better to give a username warning with {{ uw-username}} in those situations. That way, if the user is a good-faith user who didn't realize that they need to use a non-sucky name, we give them another chance and don't necessarily drive them away, and if they're a bad faith user, we find that out the first time they edit, because the username makes their vandalism really obvious and we can hardblock them. rspeer / ɹəədsɹ 23:45, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Deletion of Image:Phoenix_Fire_Dept_Logo.pngYou recently deleted an image ( Image:Phoenix_Fire_Dept_Logo.png) that I uploaded on the grounds that it was copyrighted but unused. However, WP:CSD#I5 clearly states: "Reasonable exceptions may be made for images uploaded for an upcoming article." After I received a speedy deletion warning, I added a note to the image's description section saying that it was intended for us in an upcoming article. I believe that the image is acceptable for upload under said conditions, and I would appreciate your input on the matter. Thank you. Seanm028 ( talk) 10:44, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Bluster KongHi Misza, I noticed that you deleted Image:BlusterKong.jpg. Based on the guideline you cited, I am under the impression that you deleted it because it was not used in any articles at that point. For some reason, Bluster Kong became a redirect to List of Donkey Kong characters but the information about him was not merged into the list. I have completed the merge, but the section would look much better if the image supplimented the information. Would you mind restoring the image now that it would be in use? Ralbot ( talk) 05:29, 23 August 2008 (UTC) Greenhouse effect archivingI am fairly new to Wikipedia but not at all new to physics. I have been contributing to the Greenhouse effect but recently dicussion has been almost completely suppressed by the introduction of automatic archiving which sends discussion to the archives when it is a few weeks old. It does this by running some software called a mizabot or some such. I have been told that I might be able to adjust the parameters of this Mizabot but, although I have searched extensively, I cannot find where the code is still less how to edit these parameters. I am familiar with the obscurities of MS Access with it hidden processing that conceals most of what is happening. To me this automatic archiving is similar. Are you able to enlighten me on the matter of automatic archiving? I have asked those who enabled the archiving to change it to leave contributions for this year visible but no luck so far. Perhaps the last 6 months would be a better idea. The current situation is absurd and appears to be quite contrary to Wikipedia policy i.e, consent for automatic archiving (is this for all archiving?) I may be at the wrong place or completely out of step, I have the weird feeling I am writing this to a non-existant person whose identity is only a programing construct, it keeps you in the beginner category just so much longer. I have contribution to make to Greenhouse effect and I don't see why discussion should be suppressed by archiving. -- Damorbel ( talk) 21:07, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

how is the archiving done?I would like an explanation about how archiving is done, in particular unresolved complaints. I am referring to a complaint entitled /*Harassment by Badagnani */ which was archived in this sweep. Would it be appropriate to reinstate it, and if so, how?
