I made a change to the "The Marine Biologist" (seinfeld episode) page stating that when Jerry refers to his Golden Boy t-shirt as "The Iron Man" he is referencing baseball player Cal Ripken Jr, not the super hero Iron Man. Cal Ripken was known as "The Iron Man" because of his record for the most consecutive games played. Jerry is bragging about how his t-shirt always ready to go and "that's why he's The Iron Man." Notice he says "THE Iron Man" and not "Iron Man." Please refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cal_Ripken_Jr and you will see that in the very first line of the article he is referred to as "The Iron Man". If Jerry were to reference a superhero, it would have been Superman. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.160.246.236 ( talk) 06:56, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello Glacialfox, I see that you asked me a question on November 9th. I apologize, I just now noticed the question. There are three ways to revert to a non-vandalized revision when there are multiple vandalism edits in succession. If the edits are all by the same editor, you can use rollback to revert all of the editor's consecutive changes. If there are several vandalism revisions from several users, there are other reversal methods. The easiest way is to use twinkle's "Restore this revision" button that appears when you click on a Diff. To manually revert a group of consecutive vandalism edits, click on the history tab. On the history tab, there is a timestamp for each revision. Click on the latest timestamp prior to the vandalism edits. When you click on the timestamp, it will bring up that version of the article. Now, click on the "edit" button. A warning should appear at the top of the edit window with this message:
“ | You are editing an old revision of this page. If you save it, any changes made since then will be removed | ” |
If you click the save button, it will revert all changes made after that revision. To answer the second part of your question, if a single editor keeps vandalizing an article, you can report them to Administrator intervention against vandalism after you have warned them four times. If the article is vandalized by multiple editors continuously, you can request the article be semi-protected by filing a request at Request for page protection. I hope that answers your question. Best wishes, Alpha_Quadrant (talk) 18:17, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Hi. I've reverted your recent edit to Liberties Act 1850. The word you changed was part of a blockquote, and changes of this sort should only be made with care (especially when dealing with older source texts), such as when the source text has been inaccurately reproduced, or if it perhaps contains a blatant typographical error (such as "teh" for "the"). In this case, the source text clearly uses "unfrequently"; while not a common word, it is nevertheless listed in the OED, and appears twice in the same paragraph in the source text (which admittedly wasn't obvious due to errors in the blockquote). Cheers, Andrew Gwilliam ( talk) 23:43, 29 November 2011 (UTC).
It's all well and good correcting a misspelling of the word, but the chances are that when this word appears in articles, it's in a point-of-view statement. - Dudesleeper talk 01:35, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to
Zooey Deschanel: you may already know about them, but you might find
Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the
sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a
vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. --

Hello Glacialfox, U recently reverted a change i made, in door to hell. Well, i just wanted to help, i do not know how much u have knowledge about languages but just to explain: Dar: is a persian "در" word meaning "door". It is an ancient word, shared in Indoeuropean nations, including Persians. Waze: "واز+ه" is an adjective indicating open or wide. Literally means Wide or open door. In Persian language however it is used to indicate "gate" or "portal". Other modern use of this word is "goal" in football. But about the article It means Gate. regards, Farshid

I do not understand what are you trying to tell me here:
Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to John Harnad, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed.
What was not constructive and what is it that makes you to talk about constructivity? This is the full text of prof. Harnad's opinion about Wikipedia, as presented by prof. Hewitt
Wikipedia, on the contrary, is the enshrinement of contempt for learning, knowledge and expertise. It is, for many, a diversionary hobby to which they are prepared to devote a great portion of their time, as others do to computer based video games. Unfortunately, it has led also to an inner cult, shrouded in anonymity, with structures and processes of self-regulation that are woefully inadequate. Many of these tools and procedures are reminiscent, in parody, of those of the Inquisition: secret courts, an inner “elite” arbitrarily empowered to censor and exclude all those perceived as a threat to the adopted conventions of the cult; denunciations, character assassination, excommunication. An arbitrarily concocted “rulebook” and language rife with self-referential sanctimoniousness give a superficial illusion of order and good sense, but no such thing exists in practice. It is truly a “Tyranny of the Ignorant”.
So, what is your academic background that makes you to pass your judgement here?-- 71.163.236.199 ( talk) 00:09, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Hi!
I didn't realise that anyone was still using it, so I was just doing a bit of tidying up.
You can add the vandalism levels to your own userpage, just simply add {{Vandalism information}} anywhere on any page and you will get the same box. Alternatively, if you look at Template:Vandalism information, you can see in the documentation that there are quite a few variations that you can try out - go to Template_talk:Vandalism_information#Available_styles and hit show to see all the different ones.
Hope this helps!

I made the correction I did because you used the wrong word. Here is what you posted:
The Packers were an NFL
dynasty after being a winning team eight years earlier. The team had posted an NFL-worst 1–10–1 record in
1958 before legendary head coach
Vince Lombardi was hired in January 1959.
I believe that what you meant is that the Packers team had become a dynasty by 1966 after going 1-10-1 eight years before. So that means the team was a losing team at that time. Therefore, the first sentence should be
The Packers were an NFL dynasty after being a losing team eight years earlier.
I'm going to change it with a bit of a rewrite - The Packers were an NFL dynasty, turning around what had been a losing team just eight years earlier. I think you'll agree this accurately reflects the matter. DrBear ( talk) 02:23, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

The last ones are always the most difficult, so thank you if you are able to help copy-edit any of the remaining articles. We have reduced the total backlog by 163 articles so far. Special thanks: Special thanks to Stfg, who has been going through the backlog and doing some preliminary vetting of the articles—removing copyright violations, doing initial clean-up, and nominating some for deletion. i have come across page named 'Kalwar' also redirected from 'Kalal'. possible vandalism was reverted by Cluebot NG on 21 feb 2012 to Jaychandra version 11 Feb 2012. again by you on 21 feb 2012. after that few editings have deleted Jaychandra version completely and replaced their version. i repeatedly objected and tried to restore but in vain. my point is that there were no deletion tags on contents, constant denial of legitimate facts by deleting editors. denying facts like thakurs of kalwar thikana near jaipur in rajasthan india, coat of arms awarded by then british govt., official website ref of castle kalwar, various relevant wiki articles and website ref, historical facts known to mankind from centuries. i am not defending Jaychandra but i think he has really done good work by compiling and delivering content on title 'Kalwar' or 'Kalal' in general from global perspective in a much larger periodical and geographical span, and think that is true Wikipedia Encyclopedic material, rather than region specific narrow approach by later editors. mention of temple of soloman only points to historical facts about deity in those temples and existence of name/title 'Kalal' at that time. article is in no way suggesting that temple of soloman was built by kalal but on the contrary it is only suggestive of totally opposite historical fact that temple of kalal was built by soloman. its sad that such a good article is scrapped just like that. However, i strongly feel that proper tagging is always better option and Wikipedia way than arrogant repeated deletion of other editors content. One always have option to add relevant content or question existing content by proper tagging but can anyone b really bossing around and depress other contributors by using Wiki jargons. i also feel that articles on this global forum should b looked at from global perspective. self righteousness should definitely be avoided. i am feeling deeply hurt by their behavior. plz guide and help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sweapstalker ( talk • contribs) 06:33, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Progress report During this drive we were successful in eliminating our target months—October, November, and December 2010—from the queue, and have now eliminated all the 2010 articles from our list. We were able to complete 500 articles this month! End-of-drive results and barnstar information can be found here. Hello, Glacialfox. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!
This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:
Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)
Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.
Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{ User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from Nettrom ( talk), SuggestBot's caretaker.

Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the

If you have signed up but have not yet copy-edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us!

When working on the backlog, please keep in mind that there are options other than copy-editing available; some articles may be candidates for deletion, or may not be suitable for copy-editing at this time for other reasons. The {{ GOCEreviewed}} tag can be placed on any article you find to be totally uneditable, and you can nominate for deletion any that you discover to be copyright violations or completely unintelligible. If you need help deciding what to do, please contact any of the coordinators. Thank you for participating in the March 2012 drive! All contributions are appreciated. Our next copy-edit drive will be in May. Hello there! Your input is request at Wikipedia talk:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy. You had commented on the re-formatting discussion at WP:CVU but have yet to comment on the progress done to implement a major change discussed during the reformatting discussion, namely the training for new anti-vandals. Any input would be appreciated, thank you. Cheers! Achowat ( talk) 19:28, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
Invitation from the
Guild of Copy Editors
The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their May 2012 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on May 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on May 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goal for the drive will be to eliminate January, February, and March 2011 from the queue. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits more than 4,000 words, and special awards will be given to the top 5 in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Dank, Diannaa, and Stfg.

The article Attack Cat has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion. Ten Pound Hammer • (
What did I screw up now?)

Best regards, Stevietheman — Delivered: 01:10, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
