Sure, the table is a good summary of the club's performance but ironically I believe a bit too detailed to be left on the main page of an article. All of the important points of the club's history are already summarised in the main history section of Brisbane Broncos. I don't think having games won, games lost and ladder position are a major priority for readers, and from my experience with other editors tables are not encouraged unless they significantly improve the article or are absolutely essential. I'm happy to discuss this with other editors and change my mind if there is a general consensus to leave it where it is. But what I'm doing to the article at the moment will, in my opinion, make the article look and read better. Cheers, mdmanser 05:58, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
I started up a WP:RL article improvement drive (AID) a month or two ago, and we've been gradually working on helping each NRL club article get closer towards FA status. At the moment we're at work on the Brisbane Broncos one. Put your name down and keep an eye out on the talk page for further updates on what the Project is doing, and hopefully you might consider joining to generally improve articles on rugby league! Thanks. mdmanser 13:22, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
In a word, no. The original copyright on the photo remains present in all derivative works, no matter what you or I does to it. Andrew Levine 04:36, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
In each NSWRL/ARL/SL/NRL season's infobox (which you have so helpfully added) there is a field for top point-scorer but not one for top try-scorer. I don't know how to edit those infoboxes to put in additional fields but thought maybe you did. In rugby league I think seasons' top try-scorers are of equal (if not greater) interest/importance/relevance as the top point-scorers (who are invariably clubs' goal-kickers).-- Jeff79 19:36, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
I'm not quite sure how to do it yet, but if i work it out i'l leave a message on your talk page. CEP78 00:06, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
I see you create alot of new rugby league player articles (eg. Billy Moore). When you do so can you include the following template:
{{ Infobox_rugby_league_biography}}
The usage is simple to understand for example.

Jeff Saw your comment of the other week re Thurston & the JT nickname. "People aren't stupid' you said. Sometimes when reading discussion pages on Wiki RL articles I seriously doubt this. Best Sticks66 12:43, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
Jeff, as I commented tonight in that Broncos Discussion page I've only just seen your NSWRL season articles series. It reminds me that there were some rather lame articles on earlier Grand Finals that seemed to be out on there own. There was one on Roosters v Manly 1972 that I recall copy-editing. Do you know where these are, are there more and would you be intending pulling them into your season articles ? Sticks66 13:49, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
They're not really my articles. Someone called CEP78 and I have been working on them. The same situation exists for the 1911 grand final. When I came across it I just put merger requests on both articles. If no one else does it I'll do it myself one of these days I guess. Might be an idea to just request mergers anytime you find the grand final on a separate page, so when poeple come across them they can look at merging the two. Or you could be bold and do it yourself. I really think they belong in the season pages. I'd like to see every season page include grand final details eventually.-- Jeff79 17:53, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough, although I note that whitewashes are extremely rare in the test series, and GB reps are as capable of lifting and playing "above themselves" as SOO players. Grant | Talk 04:51, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Jeff I've noticed that in the old season articles the player line ups look like New South Wales Rugby League season 1911; in the more recent season articles they look like National Rugby League season 2000; now in the SoO 1980 article we have a new one. Not sure which of the former two I prefer, but I must admit I think both are preferable to the SoO one where there are two vertical lists required. What do you reckon ? I've also noticed others where the player positions are maked by initials FB for fullback; HK for Hooker etc; I thought that was efficient. Sticks66 15:26, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi Jeff79. I've noticed you're recategorising lots of Formula One Grand Prix reports from [Category:19xx in sports] to [Category:19xx in motor racing]. Just to let you know, I'm currently in the process of reclassifying all the F1 reports into [Category:19xx Formula One race reports], in line with a discussion at WP:F1. So, if you like, you don't need to bother reclassifying the remaining F1 reports in [Category:19xx in sports] - I should have removed them all from those categories within the next couple of days. -- DH85868993 05:54, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Jeff, in the 04 Season Summary there was a comment you wrote that the "original" That's My Team ad featured the Hoodoos in Wests and Cronulla jumpers. I assumed you meant the 1st year ad being 2003. But I've just added a link to that ad in the 03 article, and I can't see any shot of the band in the finished 03 ad. Maybe you meant that in the 04 version they wear the jumpers ? Apologies if I've deleted the assertion in error. Did you mean 04 ? - Sticks66 14:09, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
I agree with you that it's an awful title. How about just calling it "Differences in terminology" (or nomenclature or whatever). The text within the section explains whereabouts the various terms are used, and a simpler title wouldn't exclude the possibility of naming differences which are NOT based on a NH/SH divide coming to light from future editors. (I don't know of any, but it's possible there's a team somewhere who plays a man at 9/16!) Paul Tracy|\ talk 20:37, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Jeff there's a Fair Use image hunter who wants to delete the NSWRL logo from the 1992 season article. Do you know how to respond to avoid the deletion ? I don't sorry. - Sticks66
Yeah as you said the season infobox really kills any hope of keeping the suspense up until the Grand Final section. And for that reason I don't think anybody is going to mind if they find out Grand Final information in the table. But as you said, that report format should be the standard (although hopefully the grammatical quality could be better) across all articles. I'll look into making sure that editors keep it that way. One thing we do need to figure out though are the team lineups format. Hopefully we can all come up with a solution soon. mdmanser 06:13, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on 1992 World Club Challenge, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{

the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay.
{{ Infobox_rugby_league_biography}}
The usage is simple to understand for example.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{

the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
