The Constitution Hall entry should really note it was segregated in the opening paragraphs. There's an entire section discussing some aspects of the issue. There's a wonderful Jstor article about Eleanor Roosevelt's involvement in working to change the policy that would be great to cite in the entry. According to the article Eleanor Roosevelt helped realign voting patterns in the U. S. with her civil rights efforts. When was Constitution Hall desegregated?
The photo is also missing from Daughters of the American Revolution#Segregation and exclusion of African Americans, and later inclusion. Quite a section title! That entry's opening paragraphs should note the issues covered in the section. FloridaArmy ( talk) 11:44, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

Talk:Charles Hamilton Houston#User Kemet - ethnic disruption is an example of the needless problems overbroad, ambiguous, and inconsistently applied phrasings we use in opening paragraphs cause. Stanford recently caused a kerfluffle over using "American" [3] A good encyclopedia needs to be accurate and specific. Asking readers to do guesswork about what we mean isn't helpful, and the ambiguity that is now the norm here with our sloppy usage of phrases like "American writer" and "African American writer" in opening sentences will hopefully be phased out in favor of accurately describing what we are trying to say elsewhere. When we insist leading off entries with these descriptors are we addressing citizenship? Ethnicity? Where they live? Who knows? FloridaArmy ( talk) 11:54, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

I try to imagine what it was like for Thomas Oscar Fuller, please someone write up his entry so I don't have to (he's discussed and some sources noted in a thread above), and walk into the capitol buildings in North Carolina; the last, or one of the last, and perhaps the only African American state senator in North Carolina at that time. What was it like to struggle against the tide of white supremacy, to try and advocate for decent schools, to seek to ride public transportation with white people, to want to be able to go to a restaurant in Raleigh with his colleagues, and to want to attend a theater show or church and not have to sit in the balcony. Of course there were segregated institutions, part of the story we need to tell. But to serve in state government with the animus and history. The violence. The threats. And later to see these efforts denigrated and attacked, misrepresented and lampooned over the decades that followed. The courage in the face of such extraordinary cruelty and brutality is truly awesome to me. The same for the lawyers and other officials. Mayors, sheriffs, county commissioners. Imagine being a Black sheriff in the South back then. What would it have been like? Obviously that would have been in a community of freedmen and their families, but facing the whole power structure and history, and being able to rise to a position of authority and then to have those rights stripped away again for many decades. It's stunning. Just the struggles to be able to get an education, and to build schools, even grade schools, and then finally some high schools and colleges. It's an awesome struggle and terrible how difficult the effort was. That's why I think it's so important we include these subjects. Most people just don't know anything about what went on, and not just in the South. In the New England, out West, and of course in colonies. I think it's important we have honest and accurate accounts of events and history. Take care. Thanks for your help. FloridaArmy ( talk) 16:35, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
T. O. Fuller, Clinton Conference lists him as an attendee.
I came across Thomas Oscar Fuller / T. O. Fuller / Thomas O. Fuller noted as a minister and the first African American to serve in the North Carolina Senate (1899-1900). Also the last until 1974. Pretty long after Reconstruction. North Carolina didn't have African American state senators during Reconstruction? Seems kind of unbelievable. Anyway, I will return to filling in the gaps as best I can and chasing down the missing pieces as soon as I am able. Take care. FloridaArmy ( talk) 22:24, 11 January 2023 (UTC)

🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:56, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Hi FloridaArmy, just a reminder that your editing restriction is to have no more than 20 pending AfC submissions at any time. If this search shows a "next 20" at the bottom you have more than 20. As of right now, you have about 45. You should not submit further drafts (as you did at Draft:South River Forest) until the number has gone below 20. If you think this restriction is stupid, you should go to WP:ANI and appeal it. If you continue to violate your restriction, you will probably get blocked again. — Kusma ( talk) 22:02, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
If you'd like, FA, since we've worked on stuff in the past. If you want to let me know about drafts you think are ready, I can check them to see if I agree or not and, if I do agree, then I'll submit them to AfC. So that will let you have some oversight on your submissions from another editor and still have them be submitted. Just try not to overwhelm me with too many, please. :P Silver seren C 22:08, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

KylieTastic ( talk) 21:52, 1 February 2023 (UTC)And letting you know I've just done the same here! I was actually planning on doing this before, had ordered a copy of the book about them, and was pleasently surprised to see that you'd already laid the groundwork for an article there. I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out :) ThadeusOfNazereth(he/him) Talk to Me! 19:27, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
Hi Florida - I've cleaned up + expanded John E. Hussey and moved it to mainspace. There was some interesting stuff there about a dispute over his second election that I was able to find which should alleviate any concerns about notability.
