Hello, Mlpearc.I must respect your thought. But I need to say a thing. It is the policy - You have a history of requesting rights that you do not need or do not have any use for.I am presently a rollbacker and I use the tools almost regularly. The four file moves I had made were required renaming- to a more descriptive title, where the author, too requested. It will be fine if you kindly let me know when can I access the tools and can help the project. As per your edit notice says, please leave me a talkback message if you can. Please do not consider this to be rudeness, or don't take it otherwise.Thanking you, Dipankan In the woods? 15:41, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

I might be wrong here, I had a look over the final decision, and to me it would seem that both FoFs 1 and 1.1 were published, but as 1.1 has more support, should be the only FoF implemented? The same goes with remedies 1 and 1.2, 1.2 has a higher passing margin than 1. It also now passes 7-3 as opposed to 7.2. Citing oneself does not necessarily constitute original research. It would if the self-written source is also self-published, such as on the personal blog or website of a non-expert. But if the source is published by a third-party, it may very well be a reliable source. Of course, citing oneself is still discouraged. See WP:SELFCITE for details. Hey guys.
I appreciate this isn't quite what you signed up for, but I figured as people who are already pretty good at evaluating whether material is useful or not useful through Special:NewPages, you might be interested :). Over the last few months we've been developing the new Article Feedback Tool, which features a free text box. it is imperative that we work out in advance what proportion of feedback is useful or not so we can adjust the design accordingly and not overwhelm you with nonsense.
This is being done through the Feedback Evaluation System (FES), a tool that lets editors run through a stream of comments, selecting their value and viability, so we know what type of design should be promoted or avoided. We're about to start a new round of evaluations, beginning with an office hours session tomorrow at 18:00 UTC. If you'd like to help preemptively kill poor feedback, come along to #wikimedia-office and we'll show you how to use the tool. If you can't make it, send me an email at okeyeswikimedia.org or drop a note on my talkpage, and I'm happy to give you a quick walkthrough in a one-on-one session :).
All the best, Okeyes (WMF) ( talk) 21:43, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:Page triple neck.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

You're welcome For some reason, you have to be an admin (I'm not) or an account creator (I am) to make them. Once they're made anyone (I think?) can edit them. See Wikipedia:Editnotice. For articles I heavily edit, I always add a language template and if I see HTML comments, I try to add them for the sake of visibility, not cluttering up the code, and just in case someone edits a section that's not right where the comment is. — Justin (koavf)❤ T☮ C☺ M☯ 04:07, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Hey! Big update on what the developers have been working on, and what is coming up:
coding
All other elements are either undergoing research, or about to have development started. I appreciate this sounds like we've not got through much work, and truthfully we're a bit disappointed with it as well; we thought we'd be going at a faster pace :(. Unfortunately there seems to be some 24-72 hour bug sweeping the San Francisco office at the moment, and at one time or another we've had several devs out of it. It's kind of messed with workflow.
Stuff to look at
We've got a pair of new mockups to comment on that deal with the filtering mechanism; this is a slightly updated mockup of the list view, and this is what the filtering tab is going to look like. All thoughts, comments and suggestions welcome on the NPT talkpage :). I'd also like to thank the people who came to our last two office hours sessions; the logs will be shortly available here.
I've also just heard that the first functional prototype for enwiki will be deployed mid-April! Really, really stoked to see this happening :). We're finding out if we can stick something up a bit sooner on prototype.wiki or something.
I appreciate there may be questions or suggestions where I've said "I'll find out and get back to you" and then, uh. not ;p. I sincerely apologise for that: things have been a bit hectic at this end over the last few weeks. But if you've got anything I've missed, drop me a line and I'll deal with it! Further questions or issues to the usual address. Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) ( talk) 17:15, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello, Mlpearc,
I am flattered that you are seeking my opinion on any matter, but I cannot say that I am particularly sure what Wikipedia's policy towards "Influence" sections is exactly. As far as how many groups to list (on such a big group like Zeppelin), I would probably limit it to the top 3-5 of any given sub-genre to keep from taking up too much space, but again, that is just my presumption. That being said, a list devoted to Zeppelin-influenced bands (as User:Yoenit suggested in the Village pump) might be a viable option. However, it is my opinion that any band on the list includes a citation that states how a band or any of its members were influenced by Led Zeppelin.
Hope I was somewhat helpful, and I look forward to working with you in the future. -- L1A1 FAL ( talk) 02:49, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello! I have a question related to ACC. I was handling a request which came via proxy and the proxy is under range block for more than a year. The reason for block was that a toolserver bot edited while logged out. Though I don't find any problem with it but still to be on safe side I didn't creat the account since I was doing it for the first time. So can you tell me was it right? I deleted all the M*A*S*H season changes, and you reverted it, saying that consituted vandalism. I, however, see the season changes as pointless and idiotic, only serving to spoil the surprises for further viewers.
While I am aware Wikipedia is meant to be an encyclopedia and not worry about spoiling things, the season changes are still pointless to post, in my opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.72.151.150 ( talk) 22:08, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Just letting you know ;-) Steven Zhang Join the DR army! 07:06, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Mlpearc
I was wondering if you could reinstate my permissions for ACC. Fell away from it during studies so was suspended & had account creator removed (per 45 day rule), however studies over I plan to get back into it now.
Thanks CalumH93| talk 14:01, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Welcome back and I have verified your identification here. Cheers, Mlpearc ( powwow) 16:39, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi:) Could you guide me to the discussion where it was decided to extend the identification requirement to ACC tool users? Good to see you around... Wifione Message 07:19, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
I noticed you signed a welcome message for a user named User:PedobearXD a minute ago. I don't think that username should be allowed under the username policy. Do you think it is a good idea? — Soap — 03:02, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

In the process of cleaning up Category:Welcome templates, I removed User:FlightTime/Accwelcome and User:FlightTime/TWwelcome from the category. They remain in Category:User-specific welcome templates, as the most specific sub-category. If this isn't correct, please let me know. Senator2029 ( talk) 18:53, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Hey all!
Thanks to everyone who attended our first office hours session; the logs can be found here, if you missed it, and we should be holding a second one on Thursday, 22 March 2012 at 18:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office. I hope to see you all there :).
In the meantime, I have greatly expanded the details available at Wikipedia:New Page Triage: there's a lot more info about precisely what we're planning. If you have ideas, and they aren't listed there, bring them up and I'll pass them on to the developers for consideration in the second sprint. And if you know anyone who might be interested in contributing, send them there too!

I noticed
this comment (though as you can see, it was removed), and while I do agree with some of what was in that post, I don't believe it applies to your input and I think that what you do on those pages is very helpful; the post reminded me to thank you for your work. Keep it up! :)

If leaving no cases in a section in the template, you need to uncomment the code to get the 'No requests' / 'Pending update' text to show. Regards -- Alexandr Dmitri ( talk) 21:26, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
I am new to Wikipedia, and your reversion of my edits has caught my attention, taught me something, and raised questions - all at the same time. Although I understand how you might be able to justify one or two of the reversions, I cannot understand how you could justify all of them. Can you please briefly explain? Thanks very much. Salutations and Greetings! You posted on my my talk page that I needed further proof that I made the uploaded file. I contacted the e-mail provided but I have yet to hear back from them. Can you please be more specific on what I need to do. I was not aware that self-made works uploaded to Wikipedia needed to be accompanied by permission to use it. As this is my first upload, your guidance on this matter would be much appreciated. Thanks! Jonathan Ng 吳家明 19:17, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Hello! I registered for an account on ACC interface a couple of days ago, which is pending for approval by a site administrator. I followed you here from ACC Guide Talk page.

Thanks -- SMS Talk 09:34, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

Hey :). You're being contacted because you are involved in the ACC process, or participated in the original discussion in '08 about the ConfirmAccount extension. This is a note to let you know that we are seeking opinions on switching this extension on, effectively making the ACC process via the Toolserver redundant. You can read all the details here; I would be very grateful if people would indicate how they feel about the idea :). Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) ( talk) 13:21, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited KTLA Morning News, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Frank Buckley ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hey, not sure who this should go to, but you probably know. Got a query error when trying to handle request for username "De30". I won't post the error because it has the requestor's email in it, but there's an unescaped single quote in the email messing up the query (i.e. johno'malley should be johno''malley). "Claim not properly sourced". I'm stating the obvious, not a claim. 1) "Whole Lotta Love" is not on the album, 2) Dixon being credited is already mentioned in the previous sentence, therefore the information is redundant. NewYorkFred ( talk) 07:12, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
