I'm back from a hiatus. My father had a heart attack and was at my brother's marriage. Unfortunately, my brother did get married and therefore didn't survive. I changed/added a couple of sentences relating to the canals flowing south from the Jordan River and back into Utah Lake and on the Surplus Canal. If these changes are ok, I think I've answered all of your questions/suggestions. Is there something I missed or didn't do right?
There was a spill of 33,000 gallons of crude oil into Red Butte Creek last week. Some of the oil did make it into the Jordan River and eventually into the Great Salt Lake. It's unknown how much has made it into the river. Most of the news is focusing on the "rich" people next to the creek and the oil that made it into Liberty Park. Here is the only real article on the Jordan River. Bgwhite ( talk) 22:19, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Saw you added and then deleted an old photo of dam on the Jordan River. Sorry, I didn't have the source in the right spot on wikimedia. Source has been updated on the wikimedia page for the photo. The photo was printed in a book from 1901 that was published by the USGS, so the Utah State Historical Society cannot copyright the photo. Should the photo be cropped to remove the copyright tag? Yeah, I am on a bit of a role. I am trying to get a DYK for every state. I am a little over half way there. Most of my articles have been state parks. Thanks for your -- as always -- thorough review of Shimer College. Your comments were very helpful and give me courage to once again brave FAC.
Your comment about the broken link on several footnotes was a puzzlement, but I finally figured it out: there can be no extra spaces in the cref template. So {{cref |a|...}} will work. {{cref|a |...}} will not. For your chest of wikimedia trivia, if it ever comes up again.

It's still not the ideal way of presenting things, since the WP:MOS discourages the use of multiple subsection headers like that. However, in looking at what you've got there, you are presenting both actual footnotes, inline citations, as well as an alphabetical listing of references. So it's a lot of info. I'm not sure of the best way to present that, so perhaps you're method is best in this case. WTF? ( talk) 05:47, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

It's been ages since I've asked for your assistance, but I was wondering what you'd think about copy editing and reviewing a highway article again? The backstory here is simple, Awadewit looked over this article almost two years ago for me when we were discussing the concept of "context" on highway articles. Since then, I've moved closer so I have better access to the libraries local to that roadway. Last week, I rewrote the article on the Capitol Loop, purging the press releases as source and actually expanding on the content. Now the previous version was rated A-Class by the project, and I've asked on the project page for editors to review it on the article's talk page. I know it could use some polishing in the prose department, so I was hoping you might be willing at some point to help. I feel that the content is FA-worthy, but I would like to polish it now before any FAC. Imzadi 1979 → 21:21, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your feedback on the talk page of the list. I am slowly plugging away at adding ALL of the parks listed on the Portland Parks & Recreation website, along with their locations, size and a references for each. Then, it will come down to creating stubs for many of the parks and filling in the gaps of the list. I suggested on the talk page that it may be necessary to split up the list into sections down the list, as the list is going to be pretty long once completed. You have a fine (fine, finetooth, haha, ermph...) reputation as an outstanding peer reviewer on Wikipedia. So, I was wondering if you could give a quick review of Mauna Kea in reference to a possible, rather, probable, FAC. Nothing major, just a quick review post on the talkpage of any outstanding issues. I'm trying out this one like I did Loihi Seamount, which was pretty mch coordinated on its talk page. So, if you have the time, it would be much appreciated. I saw that you were compiling a list of streams of Oregon over 40 miles long. I thought I'd look for lesser-known possibilities. I haven't looked very hard, but have you considered Big Sheep Creek? No Wikipedia page, it seems; in GNIS it's U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System: Big Sheep Creek. Thanks for the kind words. I liked visiting the Lewis and Clark River area. Hopefully we'll manage another family vacation to Cannon Beach someday. If you do someday want to play with GIS data, the app I mentioned, ArcExplorer, is free and fairly simple. It's little more than a GIS data viewer, without the bazillion analysis tools of most GIS apps. It's interface is a bit annoying, but it does the job. Could be a good way to get started. Most GIS apps are dauntingly complex. I agree that citing the WBD, or the NHD, seems reliable--but isn't exactly a helpful way to show others how to verify the info. Maybe it would be helpful if the cite wasn't just to the WBD in general, but the specific datafiles, and perhaps something like, "accessed via ArcExplorer." That way others could, if they really wanted, download the specific datafile and viewer app. Hmm, I'll think about how that kind of citation might be done. It might be difficult to provide specific datafile names. I could point to a website that extracts the data and emails it to you (which is how I've been downloading the bits and pieces so far). ..Anyway, I should get to checking those basin sizes tonight sometime. I'll do a couple more for streams we have other reliable sources for, to see how well they agree. Pfly ( talk) 02:48, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks - Exelon Pavilions was at FAC for three weeks, which was an odd experience. Two supports early on, then a long time in limbo, then a fairly fast close once it had a fourth support and image check (to the point where I was still cleaning up some issues raised in the FAC before I could reasonably send out thank spam). There are one or two more Millennium Park articles I can see working on for FAC, but that project is winding down (for me at least). Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:44, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

You have a fine (fine, finetooth, haha, ermph...) reputation as an outstanding peer reviewer on Wikipedia. I saw that you were compiling a list of streams of Oregon over 40 miles long. I thought I'd look for lesser-known possibilities. I haven't looked very hard, but have you considered Big Sheep Creek?

The article was unsuccessfully pushed the article to FA status recently, but many changes had been made since then, so I want to see if there are anything else needed to improve on before the article is submitted for FAR again.
Thanks! Ta-Va-Tar ( discuss– ?) 04:59, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
![]() | On 20 September 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Dry River (Crooked River), which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

I made Butter Creek (Oregon) using only the information in the list to get rid of the red link for FLC. It did not take me too long and I can make more like this if you want. Just let me know, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:16, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
I fixed the length ref as it was missing the URL. It seems to me that the length of the Klamath Rivewr could be calcualted from the total length (287 miles) minus the river miles at the Oregon-California border (208 miles). I think this is 79 miles, but I figured I would ask you to check my reasoning, and also to see if you thought it worth including. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 14:42, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for reviewing the article Silver Reef, Utah. I noticed that you said there was a bit of trouble with a couple photos in the article, that the original source wasn't acknowledged. I know that one of them came from the Silver Reef museum, so when I put that as the source, should I also keep the website where I got it from, or should I omit the link to the site? Thanks. Finetooth,
I have had Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/School for Creative and Performing Arts/archive1 at FAC for over a month now, and was close to wrapping it up, I thought, but a set of prose issues have now been raised that I am really not sure how to address. If there is any way you can take a look help me correct it, I would be eternally grateful. I don't think it will be a huge chore. Thanks. -- Nasty Housecat ( talk) 16:33, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

FYI, I liked the idea of
this but if you use it again in future please close of the template with a |}
. It is not noticable if it is the last thing on the page (as it is automatically closed off) but it messes up the next post and I've just been through user pages fixing them. Best,

I appreciate your help in the peer review for Galveston Pirate SC. I just caught up to it since you made it over a month ago. I'll use your tips and suggestions wisely.
Thanks again,

Many thanks for your comments in Wikipedia:Peer review/Hong Kong/archive1! I will do the best I could to make sure all the issues are addressed prior to the next FAR. Ta-Va-Tar ( discuss– ?) 17:48, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for reviewing the article. You recommendations clearly bring up several aspects we've overlooked and I will to through them one by one. I'll drop you a note once I'm done making all the recommended changes. Thanks for all the help once again. Zuggernaut ( talk)
Just getting around to reading the Signpost for this week and seen you got List of longest streams of Oregon to FL...great job! I know you were putting alot of work into that for awhile. Again, congrats! :) - Neutralhomer • Talk • 23:21, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Hi Finetooth, many thanks for your comments in the Hong Kong peer review! I think I fixed most of the issues you pointed out in the review, but there are still two comments that I'm not sure if I completely fixed. I marked them with the "Not Done" tag. Would you mind taking another look at it?
Thanks, Ta-Va-Tar ( discuss– ?) 04:28, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Not sure if you are still watching, but I have been responding to Wikipedia:Peer review/Juwan Howard/archive2. I intend to renominate the article on October 6th.-- TonyTheTiger ( T/ C/ BIO/ WP:CHICAGO/ WP:FOUR) 14:58, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Would you be able to peer review Coat of arms of Albany, New York? I want to bring it to FAC. It's rather short, if that makes any difference upstate NYer 22:11, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
I made a few additions to yours and Ruhr's dispatch. I personally feel its ready to be piped to FCDW, however you are the authors: do you have anything to add to it, specifically...? (I'd contacted you and Ruhr earlier in August; see User talk:Ruhrfisch#Dispatches). I just want to get Dispatches moving again. PS: I never said it, but the fast reception I got at PR for Mauna Kea was a nice surprise; I will use it more often now =) (it's at FAC atm). Regards, Res Mar 00:02, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
(out) Thanks - I like your edits and am happy with what is there. I was not sure when to put links at the end of a paragraph and when to put them at the end of a section under More information. The MOS section has more items listed in More information than any of the others. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 20:37, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
I need only get this out of the way, first. Res Mar 00:06, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Many thanks for your peer review of St John's Ashfield. I found many of your suggestions very helpful, and will seek to incorporate them in the next week or so. -- 99of9 ( talk) 23:38, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
