The article Pre Shield Volcano has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{
dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{
dated prod}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. The
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

Hi Evan. I was looking over Post shield stage and did some copyediting to get it a little closer to Wikipedia standards. Unfortunately, a lot of your own interpretations have crept into the article, and some of those are not necessarily correct. When you write content, you need to keep the tone encyclopedic, meaning that it must avoid simile and informal language in favor of the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. You must also be certain that you understand every part of the subject - some of your writing was contradictory. I'm not certain that the subject has much currency in volcanology; I'll do some checking when I have more time. I am certain that there is no such thing as a pre-shield volcano (such a thing would be a simple volcanic fissure). Just because one thing exists doesn't necessarily mean that an opposite exists, nor does it mean that you can insert your own interpretation for a pleasing symmetry of concepts.
I'd be happy to answer any questions that you have, and appreciate your interest in contributing to the encyclopedia. Acroterion (talk) 04:15, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
