Hullo, me again—You were kind enough to comment at this article's (somewhat informal!) peer review, and I thought I'd let you know it's now a featured article candidate. The discussion is here, and any further comments you may wishto make would be naturally very welcome. Thanks again! ...SerialNumber 54129 ...speculates 11:17, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
There is an atmosphere of distrust here on Wikipedia that I find most distasteful and rather demotivating. What's prompted my comment is that my application to have the template editor right - given automatically to every administrator regardless of need or competence - has been rejected.
So I'm clearly not trusted to behave myself with protected templates, which I find rather insulting. Eric Corbett 16:32, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
By the way, Eric, I got an email the other day from someone absolutely in stitches about a conversation we had in September 2010. Who knows how or why someone dredged that up (search my Sept 2010 archive for tits) but it was a reminder that we once could have fun in here, and that helped in dealing with the wackiness.
So, on my latest crusade ... have you had your annual bend over test and prostate cancer screening? Since I am rather fond of you, please do. If wikipedia had an article as bad as our suite of prostate cancer articles in an area that affected women ... things would likely be different than what men like my husband are now facing. The article Elspeth Reoch you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Elspeth Reoch for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. Hey Eric, just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I've nominated the article on the Shorwell helmet at FAC. (Took a little bit longer than anticipated, as I ended up nominating the article on the Pioneer helmet first.) Though I'd obviously appreciate it if you again weighed in, I also wanted to thank you again for taking the time to review the article and offer your suggestions. -- Usernameunique ( talk) 22:15, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
I have hopefully resolved your comments in case you did not receive my ping. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 12:14, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
In case you did not receive my ping, I mentioned at the FAC that the article's lead is now a lot better. You can proceed likewise with the rest of the article. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 14:29, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
... for saying what I feel: that a certain arb case should not exist and is a time sink. I thought I'd manage to not participate, but didn't quite succeed ;) - Perhaps I should say there that of course I don't believe that someone hates me, but even that seems more effort than the proceedings deserve. Perhaps I should say that this case has nothing to do with a former case named Infoboxes (or rather: misnamed, should have been "Reverts of infobox opera"). Perhaps I should say that there was no infobox discussion I remember in all 2017 (only about reverts), so what's digging up old unrelated stuff? I should perhaps say that there is no evidence of an infobox brigade in action. But I prefer article writing. - I held my chin up as you told me, in 2013 ;) -- Gerda Arendt ( talk) 13:29, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
@Gerda:I'm so happy that you kept your chin up, and still do, even though you're a woman and I'm an alleged mysogynist. ;-) (To even say that is probably a blockable offence in the current climate, but what the heck.)
@Iridescent: I really couldn't agree more, and if this Arbcom is so blind that they can't see what's really going on under their noses then God help them. I really would prefer to have one Cassianto than ten of these civility wariors, who quite clearly have a very twisted interpretation of what civility actually means, and no conception at all that whatever that is, it also applies to them.
