If I understood the guidelines correctly, the important thing is that diacritics (if any) should be hidden - which means that the source could like this: [[Håkan Loob|Hakan Loob]]. Correct? LarRan ( talk) 19:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
A consensus has been reached by your peers that you should be an admin. I have made it so. Please review Wikipedia:Administrators' reading list and keep up the great work. Sincerely, Kingturtle ( talk) 17:22, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your work with WikiProject Ice Hockey, and your adminship. I think I forgot to vote in your request though :-S. Aside from that, could you please review MS Nindawayma. Hi, I am hoping that you can restore the article SecurDisc. It was deleted under Proposed deletion. I see under the undeletion policy that '[i]f a page was deleted under Proposed deletion, then it should be immediately undeleted by request.' Given that this term is written on many DVD drives (e.g. http://uk.lge.com/about/press_release/detail/PRE%7CMENU_5539_1.jhtml), I would like the article to remain as a source of 'SecurDisc' information. Many thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Snodnipper ( talk • contribs) 17:05, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
I'd like you to consider un-deleting the Truro Center for the Arts page. I want to thank Snowolf and Dincher for nominating me, those who updated the RfA tally, and everyone for their support and many kind words. I will do my best to use the new tools carefully and responsibly (and since you are reading this, I haven't yet deleted your talk page by accident!). Please let me know if there is anything I can do to be of assistance, and keep an eye out for a little green fish with a mop on the road to an even better encyclopedia. Adventurer! The Council has identified a number of strange occurrences (such as "vandals" and "articles for deletion") in the surrounding wilderness. The Council would check it out, but they have important Councily-type things. But never fear: brave adventurers known as "sysops" roam the lands!
Thank you for your support in my quest to become a sysop. Although I am now wielding the keys to my very own Bitchin' Meatcar, I promise to uphold the laws of the land, martini in hand, in a way that would make Saint Sneaky Pete proud. I will do my best to be a Jack of Several Trades (although I may be a Master of Nuns). I promise to Heart Canadia. And I will make it my goal to Make War, Not ... er, Wait, Never Mind.
I am glad to serve my guild, the League of Wikipedians. If I can be of any assistance, or you have any questions, suggestions, or criticisms in the future, please let me know. And if you are at a loss for what any of the above actually means, see this website.

I'd appreciate it if you could organise to reverse to the page moves you pre-emptively performed on the Steve Smith hockey player pages while the formal proposal was underway. Somehow you managed to reverse the talk pages for the players, so that the talk pages now apply to the wrong person and thus the move proposal link has been stuffed up. I had seen a sandbox page like this elsewhere in Wikipedia. I believe that in my space I am allowed to hold an article that I am working on. I have worked on it since the main-space article was deleted. Actually, I don't recall how to speedy delete it anyway... Alaney2k ( talk) 18:32, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Please review the deletion of the article on Transformation (South Africa). Transformation is in fact a policy of the government of South Africa and I believe that people should know what that means and how it is implemented. For this reason, I think the information is necessary and should be in the Wikipedia. I don't understand why it's no consensus or even why you closed, the debate was not up for too long and there hasn't been any support for keep, so I'm not entirely sure why you closed as "no consensus". The Dominator ( talk) 00:06, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

You've broken me. Diacritize any hockey article, you want. GoodDay ( talk) 16:26, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
You need a rewording: The guidelines at Wikipedia: WikiProject Ice Hockey & at Wikipedia: WikiProject Ice Hockey/Team pages format concerning no-dicaritics? aren't in sync. The former says all North Amercian articles, where's the latter contradicts that. Not here to complain, just to point out inconsistancy. GoodDay ( talk) 16:02, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
A policy change? When did citynames allow special characters? I know that the spelling of cities are different, but allowing diacritics is allowing some cities to have their 'native' spelling, and not others. It's an odd compromise. Alaney2k ( talk) 19:29, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Hazelorb suggested having a vote somewhere. It reminded of a 'vote' that we took concerning North American & Non-North American hockey articles (players & teams). Problem is, the compromise that was agreed upon, was never fully respected. If you recall, yourself & Krm500 resisted the 'North American half of the compromise'. I'll continue to respect the Non-North American half of the deal (include dios; that goes for all Non NA player bios & teams); if you guys will respect the 'North American half of the compromise' (exclude dios; that goes for all NA players & teams). Help me Djsasso, help us get it right this time. GoodDay ( talk) 16:31, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

I can ganrantee you that the article has inaccurancies. According to his stats table, he hasn't coached 1,000 games. Kingjeff ( talk) 17:03, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
But there is still a problem with games coached in the table and his wins, losses, OT Losses and ties. Kingjeff ( talk) 17:10, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
The wins, losses, overtime losses and ties only total 958 games coached, not over 1,000 like the games goached column says. Kingjeff ( talk) 20:00, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
I corrected it. The totals weren't added up correctly. Kingjeff ( talk) 20:07, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Can I use Criminology: The Core as RS. I asked the question in Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard#Book_written_for_students, but I got no satisfactory answer. The book is written for students, so I am confused if it can be considered RS or not per WP:RS. The book is written by Larry J. Siegel who is a professor of criminology in University of Massachusetts Lowell and has written several books in the field of criminology. My only confusion is that since this book is basically student oriented, it can be considered RS or not. Otolemur crassicaudatus ( talk) 17:25, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
I am finding that some of your edits are fixing some of the first hyphens of text constructions such as 13-5-1 (e.g. a win/loss record), (between the 13 and the 5) but not the last (between the 5 and 1). But I am definitely being careful about urls and accessdates and the like. Alaney2k ( talk) 20:46, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Could you please delete Template:Blue Jackets, since WikiProject Columbus Blue Jackets was merged into a task force, I began putting {{Blue Jackets}} on many articles, which created categories (stub-class Columbus Blue Jackets articles, start-class Columbus Blue Jackets articles, et cetera) which really don't exsist, since the template was redirected to Template:Ice hockey. This would make things a lot more easy, you've already screwed enough stuff up at my task force. 1bevingtonco ( talk) 21:51, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
I know that the template last time took up way too much space, but the problems with the template were not with the NHL Playoffs Template, but the massive amount of space that the sub-template, the NHLPlayoffs/Game Template was taking. In fact, if you look at my edit in which I switched from the original template that was first created, to the NHL Playoffs Template, the size of the page actually decreased. I went into both templates and reworked different portions to decrease the size that they would take up, so I believe that we should use it as it summarizes that data in a pretty clean manner and efficient manner, hiding the specific details but keeping the general stuff out there in a neat format. Please let me know what you think. I would appreciate it if you could leave me a note on my page when you respond back. Thanks. -- Sukh17 T • C • E 07:14, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
If you could please help expedite the discussion and reach consensus of a finalized series summary template, it would be much appreciated. Thank You. -- Sukh17 T • C • E 00:13, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
I have updated the template with my proposal, and according to my calculations, and the current size of the summary tables, I expect that the final tables will add up to no more than 45,000 bytes, where as, if the template last year was continued up until the conclusion of the finals, it would have swelled to approximately 90,000 bytes. This is still significantly larger than the template that was in use previously, however, I would like to remind you that this template provides a lot more information in a neater format while taking up less visual space that the previous format. Please continue to provide comments and suggestions as they are greatly appreciated. -- Sukh17 T • C • E 01:22, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I would be interested in your opinion about the continued existence of {{
current sport}}. I find that it is on about
somewhat less than 420 articles, most of which are teams, leagues, players, and nearly all of whom are involved with months-long processes that might require one edit a day or so. (Compare this to the lack of a similar template indicating that activly updated articles like
George W. Bush or
New York, New York may change.) Consequence: the {{
current sport}} template fails to add any information that cannot be seen from reading the (properly written and cited) text of the article: meaning the use of the template is superfluous and redundant, and basically attracts article clutter.

Don't be insulting. Is that too much to ask? It seems lately that you are insulting to me when we disagree. If I use some 'pointed words' I add some smileys. Sometimes some arguments have to be debated until the participants have said everything they have to say. As for the IIHF article, it is an article. Its format is debatable, especially as the IIHF doesn't publish one. Alaney2k ( talk) 16:18, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Apparently I vandalized the subtopic of women's ice hockey history on the ice hockey page when I added that one of the subjects in the photo that illustrates that section is Isobel Stanley, who is mentioned in the article. Vandalism was never my intention: I simply wanted to add information that is widely known about this well-known (in women's hockey circles) historic photograph. The caption published with the photo should include the information that Isobel Stanley is the player wearing white -- as it does in te original source cited on the page. Perhaps you can make this correction? Dheditor ( talk) 17:46, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

My only confusion is that since this book is basically student oriented, it can be considered RS or not. Otolemur crassicaudatus ( talk) 17:25, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Why would you delete American Superstar we could of just kept it as a song. - SPBLU 18:28, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your contribution to the discussion. You've made a very positive step forward. I hope you'll keep an eye on it so that an agreement in the best interest of all may be reached. -- Eleassar my talk 09:28, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
I've noticed that you have been frequently providing positive and constructive edits towards Columbus Blue Jackets-related material. I was wondering if you'd like to join the Columbus Blue Jackets task force, you practically already are a member because you have helped out Columbus Blue Jackets-related material so much. If you want to, please leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! 1bevingtonco ( talk) —Preceding comment was added at 19:31, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
here and here. Thanks if you can help. Enigma message 06:35, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
I guess you have to come out here in Ottawa to enjoy the experience :-) . Being a die-hard Habs fan of French-Canadian descent, it always warms my heart when English-Canada employs the different pronunciation out of affection for the team, as I know Jacqui Delaney does of The Bear radio station in Ottawa. — Dorvaq ( talk) 16:09, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
I was thinking about bringing up the idea (at Wikipedia: WikiProject Ice Hockey) of removing 'interim' captains from the NHL team articles. But then, I remembered the trouble I encountered at Buffalo Sabres & Los Angeles Kings, when I suggested removing Mogilny & Robitaille respectively. GoodDay ( talk) 21:04, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Can you imagine using Smashville's Boxscore example? The Montreal Canadiens article's team captain section, would've included Robinson, Naslund, Skrudland, McPhee, D.Savard, Corson & Kovalev (not mentioning the other NHL clubs). GoodDay ( talk) 21:19, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
That paragraph is not cited. And I looked for a citation and there isn't any so how do you know it is true? —Preceding unsigned comment added by TelusFielder ( talk • contribs) 02:02, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for dropping a note on my page. Could you direct me to a specific Wiki policy discussing middle names, as I could only find the biographies section of WP:DAB#NAME. Thanks. -- Masonpatriot ( talk) 15:50, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
It appears we've an anon problem on this & other Canadian related articles. He/she's now got 2 IP addresses, Yikes. GoodDay ( talk) 20:51, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I wonder how many articles will have to be semi-protected, before that anon ding-o-ling leaves? GoodDay ( talk) 13:45, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Hello Djsasso. Concerning that pro-Quebec anon disruptor - That fellow, can no longer use his 'previous' IP address numbers, each time he get a 'new' one, right? GoodDay ( talk) 19:36, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
So, the chances of him/her appearing with a previous IP address, within 12 months; would be extremely rare. GoodDay ( talk) 19:43, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Okie Dokie. PS- I've requested 'semi-protection for Jacques Parizeau and Têtes à claques articles. GoodDay ( talk) 19:59, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, you deleted my article 5 minutes after I made it, added a Hangon template, and said on the forum that I wou make it better very soon. I would appreciate it if you gave me a few minutes to make my project more relevant. thanks Captain0loken ( talk) 20:22, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Why was gohar mumtaz deleted from wikipedia? WaleedDa1 ( talk) 01:37, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Why? Isn't that the whole purpose of the template? If it's not going to be put in relevant articles - why does it even exist? That's the way its done with some of the other sports team templates. JustSomeRandomGuy32 ( talk) 19:11, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
There's already a disambiguation page at Ron Wilson (disambiguation). I'm trying to move that page to the Ron Wilson page right now. NeoChaosX ( talk, walk) 19:08, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I apologize if I was a bit verbose. Basically, the whole odd situation springs from these two conflicting facts/opinions:
