Hi
Can you pls explain the kind of references you need in this article?

Thanks very much for the kind words, Diannaa; I'm proof that fools rush in where angels fear to tread, and will try not to take on another humongous article till I have more editing experience (I've had an account for several years, but was bitten by the editing bug only recently and find moving commas around to be an acceptable substitute for true creativity :-)). I archived Iowa class battleship in January, and will move it today. Thanks for the heads-up, and happy new year! Wi2g 16:21, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

By order of the Military history WikiProject coordinators, for your devoted work on the WikiProject's Peer and A-Class reviews for the period Oct–Dec 2010, I am delighted to award you this Content Review Medal. Cheers, Ian Rose ( talk) 00:46, 5 January 2011 (UTC) |
Hello. I notice that you've speedy deleted one of my templates for the 1980 Toronto election. You've also returned the basic information to the Ron Kanter page (which I appreciate), but I can't help but think I should explain my logic in having created in the first place.
There are several templates of this sort on Wikipedia, and they're often posted on multiple pages. (This particular template could be posted on the pages for Ron Kanter, Ying Hope, and the 1980 Toronto election; in fact, it was posted on the last of these pages until someone removed it not long ago). Storing this information in template form makes it easier to make changes, when and as necessary. It also takes up less space. Until now, no-one has objected to the existence of this information in template form.
I can't help but think the original speedy delete was the result of a misunderstanding; I certainly don't regard the existence of the template as controversial. Would you be willing to restore the template? CJCurrie ( talk) 04:47, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
I think the subject is at least as notable as many others here on wikipedia, and I was in the process of rewriting to make it less of an advertorial. Could I ask you to restore it to my userspace so that I may continue work on it there? Malleus Fatuorum 00:43, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Wow, Diannaa! I see you done 91 articles and over 15,000 words on this month's backlog! That's a lot! At least you're a good copy editor on large articles. WAYNE SLAM 01:49, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Start paying attention in English class. ;) You might want to have a look at Wikipedia:Basic copyediting. That should have some good tips. Read it thoroughly, and if there are any linked pages that are associated with copy editing, read them, too. You may also want to read this page and the pages it links to. It's a lot of reading, but as long as it improves your copy editing skills, it's worth it. The Utahraptor Talk/ Contribs 02:55, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, you put it on the WP:GOCE January backlog. You make it look so easy even though it's not for me. I did try a large article but I have yet to finish it. I did not contribute much to November's backlog due to vandal fighting. WAYNE SLAM 21:26, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

According to Wikipedia, that is disruptive.
I have looked at major earthquake and major tragedies. Most have a reaction section and a debate. Why allow so many repeated debates when we know the question will pop up every few weeks?
To encourage debates so often is disruptive. I am revolutionary in foreseeing that these debates happen time and time again.
By getting some discussion, we can help WP in the near future. We don't have to apply it to the Tucson tragedy. It is worthwhile to discuss if we should have reactions sections. If we do, it is helpful if we have an idea on who to include. Just who I want? Maybe what reliable sources are reporting? Or if Brad Pitt comments, include him??? Why did you revert me?? I am pretty that the inclusion of a new team in a national league is not a sport highlight of a whole decade, even if it is in the NFL. I know what I erased, but I consider that the inclusion of a team into a professional league is not a major event in a decade, dozens of teams were born, sometimes more important and/or more wealthy than the texans (ie Juventus F.C.). Thats why I erased it. I think that winning 3 championships in an important league like NFL is worth mentioning. Even if many other teams, again more important and/or more wealthy (ie barcelona fc, or the spurs or the lakers) achieved something similar, I didnt erase the patriots record even when I was tempted on doing so. Nevertheless, the texans issue is by no means worth mentioning as an important event of the 2000s Danielfc.mx ( talk) 06:45, 13 January 2011 (UTC) 12 jan 2011 11:44 edmonton canada time

Guild of Copy Editors January 2011 backlog elimination drive
Greetings from the
Guild of Copy Editors
January 2011 Backlog elimination drive! The drive is halfway over, so here are some mid-drive stats.
So far, 43 people have signed up for this drive. Of these, 25 have participated. If you signed up for the drive but haven't participated yet, it's not too late! Try to copy edit at least a few articles. Remember, if you have rollover words from the last drive, you will lose them if you do not participate in this drive. If you haven't signed up for the drive yet, you can
sign up now.
We have eliminated two months from the backlog – January and February 2009. One of our goals is to eliminate as many months as possible from the 2009 backlog. Please help us reduce the size of this part of the backlog if you haven't already. Another goal is to reduce the entire backlog by 10%, or by 515 articles. Currently, we have eliminated 375 articles from the queue, so if each participant copy edits four more articles, we will reach that goal. Thank you for participating in the January 2011 drive. We anticipate it will be another big success! Your drive coordinators – S Masters ( talk), Diannaa ( Talk), The Utahraptor Talk to me, and Tea with toast ( Talk) |

A few months ago your did a copyedit for U2 3D after it failed its first FAC. I thought you did a really great job and a couple other editors agreed. Recently, I nominated the article for its second FAC, but one editor is claiming that the "prose are stiff and repetitive" and "there is a long way to go yet". I stated how a copyedit was done a few months back and no major edits have taken place since, but the editor says it still needs lots of work. I'd appreciate it if you could take a look at the article and/or comment on the FAC page. This editor is making it seem like the prose needs tons of work, but I disagree as I've gone through it many times, as did you a while ago.
Note: The FAC was started a month ago but after other editors stuck out their comments (after issues were resolved), one editor decided to start the FAC over from scratch, which explains why there isn't much listed there. I did discuss the copyedit before it was all removed and editors said it was done well and an improvement from the article before its first FAC. – Dream out loud ( talk) 21:53, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi! I would like to ask you for help regarding copyediting of Croatian War of Independence. The article is currently listed as an A-class candidate article with the Military history project. Nearly all of the review concerns are addressed by now, but a reviewer pointed out that there is a bit of work required in terms of prose before it could be passed. A WP:GOCE copyedit was performed on this article while it was a GA candidate, but some material was altered or added in the meantime.
I am aware that a GOCE drive is underway, but the A-class nomination is due to close on February 11, so could you please copyedit this article before this due date? Thanks.-- Tomobe03 ( talk) 01:23, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I am quite new at copy editing and I have general question on tags. E.g. I was looking at the backlog and came across Steve Howey (actor). It was tagged in March 2010 and after that it was changed and improved by many editors. Is the tag is still needed or it is there because no one dared to remove it? It looks much better than a lot of not tagged pages. Can you comment a bit on removing tags? Another question: can anyone add a copy edit page to a page or there is a policy for that? Hey Diannaa, I checked through all the roll-over totals and your math looks good. I also checked over the leader boards and they all look fine except for the massive Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya article that Chaosdruid copy edited. Before the user added the GOCE-in-use tag, the article had 30,966 words. There was also a bullet-point list that added 1715 words for a total of 32,681 – not 32,711 as was written. The difference is not huge, but I'm wondering how 32,711 was calculated. There is another numbered list of items within the article totaling 153 words, but adding this still doesn't make 32,711. Could you help me on this? Thanks! -- Tea with toast (talk) 03:55, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Hi, the message you left on my talk page reads, and I quote, "The recent edit you made to Wikipedia:Sandbox has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. the IP editor you blocked 174.94.36.111 is messing with his talk page, and well, frankly putting my name all over it and one of his edit summaries is a clear BLP violation. I thought I would let you know. Thanks again. Dbrodbeck ( talk) 04:43, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for the barnstar, Diannaa! Now, I hope I don't sound ungrateful, but I'm mostly asking this so that I better understand how this works: One of the rules for barnstar awarding is that anyone who copyedits an article of 10,000 or more words gets a special award for doing that. I copyedited an article of just over 10,000 words, but it was solely for typo-correction - the copyediting tag at the top still qualified. Does an editor have to copyedit the article enough so that the tag can come down, or do they only need to complete a certain copyedit that they set out to do? Guild of Copy Editors January 2011 Backlog elimination drive
Greetings from the January 2011 Backlog elimination drive! We have reached the end of the month and the end of another successful drive; thanks to all who participated.
If you copy edited at least 4,000 words, you qualify for a barnstar. If you participated in the November 2010 Backlog elimination drive, you may have earned roll-over words (more details can be found here). These roll-over words count as credit towards earning barnstars, except for leaderboard awards. We will be delivering the barnstars within the next couple of weeks. Thank you for participating in this year's first Backlog elimination drive! We hope to see you in March. Hey. Just a courtesy note for the future, it's not recommended to move an article when it's in the middle of a GA review. Now that BLT (sandwich) was moved to BLT, the bot wasn't recognizing that review that was on the talk page and it got messed up. I went and fixed it, but just remember that if here's a GA subpage on the talk page, then that needs to be moved as well if that needs to be done. Not your fault, the bot's just really picky and it's already dificult to make sure everything's in order. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 06:08, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Dianna, I've been reading thru your copy edits to chess article, learning a lot from them. (For example, I see you really deep-six the word "also" a lot. I'm fascinated by how slight alterations either aid or can inflict harm on intended meaning, etc.)

I have reverted your recent edit to the article about Tim LaHaye. If you look at the article's edit history, you will see that it is currently under attack from a number of anonymous accounts. The section you removed was added by one of these anonymous vandals. I restored the article to how it was before any vandalism (by restoring a well sourced criticism of LaHaye). If you wish to respond, please do so here. HairyWombat 01:13, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Your drive coordinators – S Masters ( talk), Diannaa ( Talk), The Utahraptor Talk to me, and Tea with toast ( Talk) |

look, on the whole, Haaretz links are not trustworthy - they change every day. This is correct about EVERY haaretz link.
But the links this editor put there.. well, they all point to articles about the poor Palestinians, NOT about medical tourism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.72.226.107 ( talk) 07:14, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Hey Diannaa, can you do me a quick favor? Can you move Margot and Maroie to Dame Maroie, to take the place of the old redirect? That user also seems to have a record of doing disruptive edits, and he seems to be doing it as well to the Pagcor Tower Article.

Thanks for uploading File:Grobschnitt 03.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Thanks Mpaa ( talk) 10:36, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
It's time to develop the final newsletter for the Guild's January Backlog elimination drive, but instead of developing it in my subpage, I'm thinking we should create a Guild page dedicated to the development of our newsletters. We could create Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Newsletters and add links to all of our newsletters. We could put the newsletters themselves into subpages, such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Newsletters/December 2010, or something along those lines. The newsletters can be developed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Newsletters/Development area. What do you think? The Utahraptor Talk/ Contribs 14:43, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Greetings from the January 2011 Backlog elimination drive! We have reached the end of the month and the end of another successful drive; thanks to all who participated.
If you copy edited at least 4,000 words, you qualify for a barnstar. If you participated in the November 2010 Backlog elimination drive, you may have earned roll-over words (more details can be found here). These roll-over words count as credit towards earning barnstars, except for leaderboard awards. We will be delivering the barnstars within the next couple of weeks. Just a quick note to say thanks for all the copy-editing on the King John article - it's looking a lot better, and is very much appreciated! Hchc2009 ( talk) 08:17, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Dear Dianna, I dont know whaty our talking about ?? My page is completely deleted and gone, please return it, i spent hours collecting the information and was not done with it. Fellow, Editor Kindly fix the page, Mohammed Mamdouh. I spent hours putting it together and you just deleted it and i wasnt even done with it, tell me what to change, deleting suddenly and abruptly is HARSH, i just dont want hours of research to go down the drain... its not plagiarism if its from production site which is approved !-- — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.170.173.80 ( talk • contribs)
You cited me for vandalism because of my apparently "biased edits". Yet by calling my edits biased, isn't that biased in itself? I think you need to review your policy before accusing others of vandalism. To know the true reality of yourself, you must be aware not only of your conscious thoughts, but also of your unconscious prejudices, bias and habits. I mean mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of, but stigma and bias shame us all. Of all the causes which conspire to blind Man's erring judgment, and misguide the mind; What the weak head with strongest bias rules, - Is pride, the never-failing vice of fools — Preceding unsigned comment added by DarrinCrow ( talk • contribs) 04:53, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
At this stage we are uncertain who were behind these acts of vandalism but a thorough investigation, both through our internal structures as well as through the SAPS, is under way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DarrinCrow ( talk • contribs) 20:59, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick vandalism revert at Talk:September 11 attacks. However, it's left the username visible in your edit summary. I revision deleted his edits under RD3, blatantly disruptive. Do you think the edit summary for your revert should be concealed also, to remove the disruptive username and deny him the glory of seeing it in the talk page history? — C.Fred ( talk) 05:40, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for removing the vandalism on my user page. Kiwi128 ( talk) 02:16, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Diannaa. I am responsible for editing the toilet paper article which you had to correct for "vandalism". I did not think of it as that, but merely a harmless joke. Nevertherless, I respect Wikipedia's rules and offer my sincere apology and assurance that it will not happen again. No this is not a joke, nor is it said with sarcasm. I am quite serious. No harm no foul I hope. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.125.184.74 ( talk • contribs)

"Compatibility mode" is all about catering to how IE has long done things wrong.
Get Safari, Chrome, and Opera, too.

I was wondering, if and when you had time, if you could review the article When You Reach Me. I just performed a copy-edit for the author, but my copy-edits have never been reviewed, and so I would like some feedback. Especially before the March GOCE drive starts. :) If you are not able to, could you recommend someone who could? Thank you! - Pax85 ( talk) 21:22, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Diannaa. Thanks for your hard work copy editing Rwanda, per my request at the GOCE. When I saw that there's a backlog of 1,500 articles I wasn't expecting a very swift outcome, so this came as a very pleasant surprise. Keep up the good work! — Amakuru ( talk) 13:00, 19 February 2011 (UTC) |

I was recently blocked for giving a misleading edit summary. Is that sufficient reason for a block under wikipedia rules? 84.13.50.235 ( talk) 10:25, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Hello Diannaa!! I don't know if you take requests on your talk, but can you copy-edit " Irresistible (Jessica Simpson song)" for me? It's a FAC, and I suspect I may have used some weasel words, and the article might have redundancies. Thanks! – Novice7 ( talk) 12:40, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Hi again! I added in some more details to the article. It'd be nice if you could copy-edit the "Recording and production" section of the song. Thanks. – Novice7 ( talk) 12:32, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Dianna, I've been reading thru your copy edits to chess article, learning a lot from them. (For example, I see you really deep-six the word "also" a lot. At first this bugged me; now I see that mostly that word is an unnecessary filler. Breaking bad habits is hard but healthy. Reading your ce's helps me learn. I'm fascinated by how slight alterations either aid or can inflict harm on intended meaning, etc.)
My Q for you: Do you have suggestion for me how to efficiently proceed? (E.g. is there any book or course or website you might specially recommend to speed my learning, make it more efficient, etc.?) Thx!
p.s. I made a tiny correction on your userpage to demo I love detail! :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ihardlythinkso ( talk • contribs) 17:35, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
