Hi! I think most of your questions are answered on WP:BOTS. Lupin| talk| popups 12:22, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
If I understand your question correctly you are asking about the word "VandalProof". Any use of the program does leave "using VandalProof" in the edit summary ( example). If this is what you mean by your question, then yes you are correct. If you are asking why the program is named that, it is a combination of the words Vandal, and Proof. If this doesn't answer your question let me know, and please clarify your question. Thanks, Prodego talk 20:24, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi. You need to follow the instructions on the upload page accurately. Most images found in the web cannot be used on Wikipedia. The source of the image, if used, must be fully cited using common sense: the URL of where you got it might not be the real source of the image, for example (original source of publication, photographer, etc.). If there's something you really want to uplad, ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, 'cause I'm going to be away for a couple of days. The JPS talk to me 08:03, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi there. You probably have no idea who I am, so let me introduce myself. I am Kingfisherswift and I read your entry on Moe's Talk page. If you would like it, I could also be your virtual-friend and tell you anything you want to know. I am doing this not because I am odd - although I am - but because I believe in sharing knowledge with others, and spreading it to as many as possible. Most people who join this site share my sentiments. So, please, I would be honoured if you gave me any shards of information I could use on this site. I have only been on wikipedia since january, so I am also fairly new. Cheers! Kingfisherswift 11:56, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi Daniel, thanks for the note. Regarding your question, the name comes from a backup band named Tijuana Brass, led by a guy named Herb Alpert. He was pretty big some thirty to fourty years ago, although the band did mostly all instrumental songs, with no words. If you've ever heard mariachi, it sounded a little bit like that. Very cool stuff. And, if you're curious where that name came from, you may have heard the term "brass" used to refer to the group a group of instruments (such as trumpets, trombones, etc... you can look at Brass instrument if you're bored). Hence the "brass". The Tijuana part came in because Alpert was inspired by music he heard while visiting Tijuana; after he came home and switched to a new sound, he had a top ten hit not long thereafter.
Probably more information that you were interested in, but these things happen when you get me going on a band I like. Thanks for asking. Tijuana Brass E@ 16:52, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm trying to figure out what's going on here. Maybe some of it is a misunderstanding. Take this edit for example. 72.134.46.91 was actually correcting the grammar on your user page -- his version was better English than yours -- so you should not have warned him with a vandalism template. I don't want to hurt your feelings, Daniel, but I'm not sure your grasp of English is good enough for you to distinguish vandalism from other edits. I think it would be better is you didn't go vandalism-hunting. — Bunchofgrapes ( talk) 03:57, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
The best place to raise the issue is on Wikipedia:Administrators Noticeboard/Incidents, where other administrators can see it and look into it. I rarely get involved in disputes between users due to the other functions I have to perform; it's very difficult to handle checkuser, mediation, and other requests on an individual when I've been involved with handling conflicts between them and other users. Hello Daniel. It appears you remmoved a link I placed in the external link section today to our webzine site for photos from a Slayer concert. I am stumped as to why. It's no more commercial than the other links in the section, it is linked to content, and its not my personal web page.
Are You the one that deleted it? That is who I need to talk to.
Trying to decide what to link to or not link to can be difficult. There is one thing that is always OK to link to and that is the offical site of the article. As an example, an article about "Windows XP" would want an external link to "Microsoft". An easy example of what not to link to would be an article about a band, you wouldn't link to a site that allowed you to download illegal mp3's. One of the things you can do with people like the user above is to suggest that they ask on the talk page of the article they want to add the link to. A couple of good places for information is Wikipedia:External links and Wikipedia:Spam. If you have questions about what is a spam link then the talk page Wikipedia:WikiProject Spam will usually be able to help. Hope this helps and let me know if you have anymore questions. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 08:13, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Hello Daniel. Thanks for reverting my talk page. There's no need to panic unduly, it's just a vandal from the Houston, Texas area who has taken a fancy to vandalising my talk page every few days (or three times so far tonight!). This particular vandal is so well known there's a template, {{Johnny the Vandal}} to put on his talk page when we indefinitely ban him - which usually happens a few minutes after he creates the account! -- Arwel ( talk) 22:29, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
For moving regular articles, there is a "Move" tab at the top of the page, beside the "Watch" tab. However, for example: if you want to move "Joe (person)" to "Joe" but "Joe" already redirects to "Joe (person)," you'll need to contact an admin for help. We can delete the redirect page and make the move; this way, the page history remains intact. -→ Buchanan-Hermit ™/ ?! 22:45, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

I think that many people would argue that YouTube is not a commercial site and appreciate having a quick hint to a full version of the subject of the "Penny Lane" article. What is your goal? To eradicate YouTube links? You could start here, but really, you would have to go [3] where I think you will see that there are already hundreds of such links. Really, what is your goal? To eradicate all YouTube links, for some reason? And what would you have achieved then? You would have "added more information" to the encyclopedia? I do not think so. You would have kept the encyclopedia coforming to your idea of purity? The YouTube links I added were with the intent of providing the reader with easy access to the media material being discussed. It represents additional information, just like any other external link. -- 75.24.210.224 04:00, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Sorry for misunderstanding about YouTube as External Link vandalism. I considered YouTube as vandalism. But thanks for giving me advice on this. No, My goal is not eradicate all YouTube Links. As I mentioned above, If I make mistakes, I will apologize for them, and fix it. but some of External Link is not allowed wikipedia. Hello. Your bot's reversion of the message I left on a user's page (diff) was in error.
Granted, the summary used a swear word, but that was a playful reference to the topic, which the target user will recognize easily. (Cf. the Trivia section of The Fall of Troy (album), then its talk page, especially if you want to fight actual vandalism and censorship at work.)
Another time, I'll try and write "F*ck" in the edit summary. On your side, could you please try and adjust the filters of your bot, or better, use a human-assisted approach? IMO, fully automatic bots are often a problem of their own.

Hi Dan! Oh, but I'm so the wrong person to ask!
Categories remain to me a mystery I've never quite grasped. I've tried several times, and have even be successful in the obvious things, but the actual high quality decisions? No... sadly, my brain isn't wired that way.
But it's cool. Wikipedia has a large number of slaves who have been forced to work for us, using their exceptional abilities to make the lives of the owners easier.
We confine these people to Wikipedia:Category schemes and Wikipedia:Category where they are forced to toil night and day for the benefit of those of us who cannot do such a job. And we universally underappreciate them for it and rarely set them free.
If you'd like to join them, I'm happy to enslave you and they will be happy to have you. You would be needed, underappreciated and would be performing a skilled job that no-one notices but everyone needs. If you wish to remain free but at a loss, then the best I can advise is to use commonsense. Watch what the slaves do, try to understand why they do it, try to emulate their hard work. But if your brain is like mine and is ill-wired for such work, just make a good natured rough stab at it, then be thankful when someone cleans up after you and be suitably rueful when you get warned about miscategorisations you have done. And thank the catslaves now and again. It helps.
Hope this helps! ➨ ЯEDVERS 21:09, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

Everyone can make mistakes. You forgot to assume a good faith. Assuming good Faith is very important in Wikipedia, could be belonged to Civility. As I mentioned above, If I make mistakes, I will apologize for them, and fix it. but some of External Link is not allowed wikipedia. I'm not here to eradicate every External Links, that's completely nonsense. I feel that your behaviour is absolutely uncivil. So, please be less likely perceived as insulting. *~Daniel~* 04:25, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
