I had a terrible time with the pictures. None of the ones in Chrisye could be used as they were all fair use, so I had to use a battleship - unless another FA gets passed in the next couple of hours. So many featured lists, almost all on sports, so hard to find something interesting - something besides head shots of white men and quality good enough to use - so I couldn't work in many featured pictures. Amnesty International has a new Indonesian prisoner of conscience, Tajul Muluk (religious leader), so I'm throwing the Crisco signal up into the clouds. I was talking to Mark Artsen and he suggested asking if you were interested in reviewing or helping out on an article that I nominated. The article is S&Man. I did feel insulted with the last reviewer which is why I haven't worked on it till now, but I decided to try to get my first GA. Hey Crisco,
This is what I sent to her back then:
“ | Dear Maryam,
I'm sending you this e-mail as you have requested. Please make sure the image is free (i.e taken by you or one of your family who finds it okay to publish it in Wikipedia). Also it would be better if you send a formal e-mail to Wikipedia stating that you own the image (but this is after uploading it). Thanks, Mohamed CJ |

Then she sent the image mentioning it was taken by her along with many thanks. Does this count as declaration? Also should I simply forward it to OTRS or should it contain explanation as well? Thanks. Mohamed CJ (talk) 11:33, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi. You clearly know your way around DYK; I, alas, do not. Can you tell me if I did this right? I expected a subpage to be generated and was planning to watchlist, but when I followed the "comment or review" link, it so didn't do what I was expecting. :/
Also, I had marked the one I reviewed "pass" but undid myself, because the directions didn't say I should do that. I'm not sure if somebody else does that. And I'm not entirely sure if I should mark it pass anyway until after I've found out if the image caption is optimal. :)

Amnesty International has a new Indonesian prisoner of conscience, Tajul Muluk (religious leader), so I'm throwing the Crisco signal up into the clouds. English language coverage so far has been limited, but there's clearly more in Indonesian (Google Translate seems pretty terrible at Indonesian, unfortunately). Take a look if you get a chance; I'd be happy to split another DYK, etc. Khazar2 ( talk) 16:57, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

I brought this up a few weeks ago in conversation, but this website has been bought out and closed down. I guess now I could work on their article without fear of inadvertently raising its profile. Mark Arsten ( talk) 20:24, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
Indonesia's other prisoner of conscience popped up in my news feed again today, and I thought I'd put him on your radar, too. I don't know that his article needs any immediate attention, but if it tickles your fancy, I feel like these articles always benefit from non-English sources. I was talking to Mark Artsen and he suggested asking if you were interested in reviewing or helping out on an article that I nominated. The article is S&Man. I did feel insulted with the last reviewer which is why I haven't worked on it till now, but I decided to try to get my first GA. Mark Artsen also told me how strict Jezhotwells is so if that's the case, I shouldn't have felt insulted. Anyway, I decided to not let a good article nomination fail get me down. From the one author's perspective, there was controversy. I did find a interview with the director of the film saying that Toronto was a positive experience. I'm not sure if the interview can be used though - http://www.iconsoffright.com/IV_JTPetty.htm. SL93 ( talk) 17:07, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

I think it looks good. Hope you don't mind that I changed some pics.(?) The Van Gogh looks better now that you enlarged it. What's with the "border" around it? Is that part of the original? Anyway, we weathered another week! Best wishes, MathewTownsend ( talk) 02:24, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Hey Crisco,
This is what I sent to her back then:
“ | Dear Maryam,
I'm sending you this e-mail as you have requested. Please make sure the image is free (i.e taken by you or one of your family who finds it okay to publish it in Wikipedia). Also it would be better if you send a formal e-mail to Wikipedia stating that you own the image (but this is after uploading it). Thanks, Mohamed CJ |
” |
Then she sent the image mentioning it was taken by her along with many thanks. Does this count as declaration? Also should I simply forward it to OTRS or should it contain explanation as well? Thanks. Mohamed CJ (talk) 11:33, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for promoting that article, it's been a long wait. Would you mind though if we pushed it back one prep area, so that it's not up during the middle of the night in the U.S.? – Muboshgu ( talk) 19:31, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Signpost/2012-04-23/Featured_content The entry for Dan Leno is entirely accurate, as it was promoted by Graham Colm, but I think this section normally lists the nominator rather than the FAC delegate. (Not your mistake, but you're on my list). Yomangani talk 00:31, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
I submitted a dyk at Template:Did you know nominations/Eldar Shafir. Any suggestions, as the hook is really dry. I don't really the QPQ (or whatever it is thing), but I did do a review on Template:Did you know nominations/Hierarchical Structure of the Big Five. I don't think I have the I.Q. to navigate dyk!
Your sage and seasoned advice would be much appreciated! -- Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:57, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

My new dyk entry doesn't seem to be showing up in the dyk queue for the day it was nominated: Template:Did you know nominations/Eldar Shafir. Did I do something wrong?
Also, in terms of the Qxx, does weighing in on other dyks count, eg on Template:Did you know nominations/Hierarchical Structure of the Big Five and Template:Did you know nominations/Relationship Contingent Self-Esteem?
Thanks, MathewTownsend ( talk) 13:29, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
