How do I put a notice on someone's userpage or talk page that I suspect they're a sockpuppet? I'm not saying this lightly.
Just look:

Hi. Thanks for pitching in there. The earlier discussion came up on User talk:Jessnevins (handily deleted so the context is lost) and back in February when I asked about the edits he said "I am the real Jess Nevins, yes. I do these edits while teaching class, as a way to graphically show students about how easy it is to alter and deface Wikipedia entries. I understand and appreciate the reservations you have about the edits, but I only do this to my own entry, and I undo the edit immediately." Hope that helps with the context.
I'd love to find a way to win him round as he is very knowledgeable in various areas but he has now used a number of sock puppet accounts and if it was anyone else I'd have run it through checkuser and locked the page down but am seeking input for one last ditched effort - if you have any ideas I've asked an unconnected admin for his ideas so you can pitch in over there: User_talk:Hiding#Thoughts. Thanks again. ( Emperor ( talk) 04:31, 28 April 2009 (UTC))

Please tell, what's wrong with my added link? Georgiani ( talk) 13:58, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Hello, I'm novice in wikipedia. I haven't read any policies, but tried to add my links correctly to same themes. It is not spam, just an interesting links to Georgian web-site, where electronic editions, calligraphy works, manuscript book, orthodox icons and other intellectual works are submitted. Just think, in the "Calligraphy" article of wikipedia nothing told about georgian calligraphy. Also, nothing about manuscript books or modern Georgian iconography. After my links I plan to add some articles to wikipedia, because I found very poor info in some themes. Articles about Elena Akhvlediani, David Kakabadze, Niko Pirosmani etc. can become rich. I finished to add links and do not plan to add more, as I'm not a spammer. I thought every my link will be interesting for readers. If we follow any external link from wikipedia, we'll find sales pages at corresponding sites, but it is not a reason to delete this links from wikipedia and to call their authors - spammers. If you know the more correct way how to add my links to wikipedia, please advise me. I'm be glad to follow your instructions and see my links to many interesting Georgian web-sites at wikipedia. After I'll try to add some useful articles. Georgiani ( talk) 08:52, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
I just couldn't take it anymore and finally snapped and requested a page protection to Snigbrook's talk page, as seen in my contributions. You can also look at my contributions to see how many times I actually reverted vandals on that talk page, but if you look at the link above, you'll see that there were way more reverts than that. Just scroll down until you don't see "Reverted edits..." or Reverted 1 edit indentified...". I just hope we don't get blocked for the Three Revert Rule (by we, I mean the people that were reverting vandalism). - Eugene Krabs ( talk) 14:46, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Could I get a tutorial from you? I can't figure out a lot of stuff. Where's the "warn user" link, the ARV link, etc? - Eugene Krabs ( talk) 14:25, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
<-Do you mean like this edit summary? I think that is the default when removing plain vandalism. The is a drop down box beside the revert and warn button that allows you to choose what kind of revert (ie, Vandalism, Spam, Blanking, BLP violation, etc.) This will apply the appropriate template to the editor's talk page, and I believe that you can tweak the edit summaries for each of those somewhere in the options. I don't use Huggle too much, so I'm not fully sure though. Apparition11 Complaints/ Mistakes 20:01, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
<- Taking a quick glance, almost all of the ones I looked at looked good. The only one that I saw that I don't agree with is this one to Vanessa L. Williams. The editor inserted an image of the subject, so it wasn't vandalism. It does not appear to be free image, so it should have been reverted; however, had the user been explained why the image didn't belong, it may have saved some edit-warring. A reverted good-faith edits by... edit summary with a link to WP:IUP would have helped the editor instead of just likely frustrating him/her for reasons that they don't understand. Actually, I reverted the editor a little prior to that, when they tried to link to the picture off-wiki. I could have been more helpful there myself and pointed to IUP (and now wish that I would have), but note that I did revert it as a good-faith edit. The only other thing I noticed was this revert to 55P/Tempel-Tuttle. You correctly reverted vandalism, but reverted to another vandalized version. This happens quite often, but do try to watch what you revert to. Unfortunately, when this happens, often, the vandalism often remains uncaught for a while. In fact, here, I reverted it nearly three hours later. The original vandalism was placed a few hours before that one though. Apparition11 Complaints/ Mistakes 03:09, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't feel like writing it again, so I'll copy and paste what I emailed to guy we got our computers from. The only thing different is that now it's been about 25 minutes.
--START QUOTE-- About 15 minutes ago, a balloon popped up saying an update was available for Adobe Reader (Adobe Reader 8 >> Adobe Reader 9). I clicked it and began the update, but later the monitor shut down and a blue screen came up saying something about a device infinite loop thing (sorry, can't remember exactly what it said. It restarted before I could read it all). And weird enough, Adobe appeared on my desktop when I logged in again, so the update got through. I'm actually not entirely sure what caused it. The Adobe update is what I suspect because it happened after it started updating.
Anyway, when I got logged in again, I got an error like this: Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078)
Any help will be appreciated. --END QUOTE-- - Eugene Krabs ( talk) 22:07, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
Thanks for informing me about editing dbForge Studio for MySQL article. May I add the same links in the See Also section or are they banned by their content?
One more thing, I need help with the redirects.
There is an article about DeviantArt which can be searched on wikipedia by Devart term as because there is a redirect from DeviantArt page to Devart. But there is an article about Devart_(company)]. Following the guidelines, I've created Devart_(disambiguation) page with the link to DeviantArt and Devart Ccompany.
The question is "Can the Devart company" article be searched by term Devart? If yes, what should be done? Can I change the existing redirect?

hi, I want to have only 1 article about Devart - it should be Devart (company). Can I delete the redirect page Devart company? Firstly, I've created Devart company page, but than decided to change the title to Devart (company). Now while searching the article about Devart, the drop-down list in the Search field shows many variants with Devart keyword. It hacks.
What should I do? How to delete the merge request now?

Apparition, at what point do you or somebody else begin blocking registered users from making reverts? I've only been reverted once by this guy, but it was annoying (he had not a clue about the subject matter, and suggested that I had made an unfinished "test edit" and so reverted it. I decided to look at this guy's history, and I see that he has a history going back MONTHS of contributors complaining about his bogus reverts. And that's where I saw YOUR name - you seem to be familiar with this guy. I can't believe some of his reverts/edits - like suggesting "Danish modern" for speedy deletion . . . . . . because he thought it was the name of a company. I mean, give me a break. I congratulate you for taking so much time to tutor him, but at what point do you give him an "F" and fail him in the course/hold him back a grade??? This guy is a dunce. I took a look at his Facebook/MySpace pages and discovered that he is a 17-year-old kid - I figure that is where a lot of where his messing around on Wikipedia is coming from, i.e. he doesn't have anything to do, and is looking for something to occupy his time/something to do in life . . . . . . and he has discovered Wikipedia. AHHHHHH!!!!! Again, he only reverted me once, and I'll probably never run into him again (I hope not), but since I see that you have taken an interest in this guy, perhaps you can take a step back after all these months and figure out what sort of long-term solution there is to what he is doing. Anyway, I've said my piece. Your troublesome student is now all yours (LOL). 86.129.131.246 ( talk) 13:15, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm trying to remember the name of this movie I watched in theaters and on DVD, but can't remember. Would you happen to know its name?
It's a movie about a brother and sister who get trapped at an airport during Christmas. Their dad was supposed to pick them up, which he did, but because they were stuck because of a blizzard, they were stuck at the airport after arriving there. It stars someone named Christohper. Don't remember if that's their first or last name, though. - Eugene Krabs ( talk) 16:35, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello. This is a bit out-of-the-blue, but I don't know any other wikipedians with rollback rights etc and am pretty much at a loss.
I stumbled upon This edit by an anonymous user. I am not involved in the conversation and I am unsure as to whether it has been reported anywhere or not. I consider myself a relative novice with regards to dealing with personal attacks involving a user other than myself. I've read the Removal of Uncivil comments in WP:CIVIL but this is my first time I've found something like this so I'm generally unsure what to do. If it was me involved it would be easier for me to handle, but I just stumbled upon it and am (as mentioned) at a loss. I would appreciate any advice or feedback on what action to take or if I should just let it be. Thanks, PizzaofDoom ( talk) 10:23, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm trying to make "Commercial", "Sketches", and "Short sketches" more organized for each episode as I watch two episodes that air every weekday, but if I add * (asterisk) or : (colon), the Wiki Table seems to break after "Episode 1".
Here's the messed up table (scroll down below "Episode 1" and look at it): http://en.wikipedia.org/?title=The_Amanda_Show_(season_one)&diff=301221107&oldid=301220727
Now, here's the table before I did the two edits that messed it up (one edit was with *, but then I decided : made it more organized) (Again, scroll down below Episode 1 to look at the table): http://en.wikipedia.org/?title=The_Amanda_Show_(season_one)&diff=prev&oldid=301212092
For both links, go to the actual part of the article, then scroll down below Episode 1, not the "Difference between revisions part".
How can it be fixed?

It's actually on at 9:00 to 10:00, but because The N goes by EDT, it's 6:00 to 7:00 for me. Didn't really affect me, though. 5, 6, 7 hours are enough for me. I don't really do the 8 hour thing. 1. Can you see if you can figure out what editing program they used for the end credits when the show was still airing here? Skip to 23:10 and watch until the end. Or use this and skip to 21:10. Again, watch until the end. I suggest watching both. The credits on the first one are slower.

Well, I watch Wizards of Waverly Place and noticed he guest starred on Cold Case, but it doesn't say which episode, just 2004-2005. Can you see if you can figure it out?
I think the episode title is Fireflies because the girl says it in the videoclip, but I'm not sure because it's listed under season 3 (2006-2007). Any help will be appreciated.

What should be done
here? Start from ClueBot's revert. It looks like the IP address that was blocked came back as a user to evade the block and cause more harm to Wikipedia.
Here's the vandalisn the IP addess caused.

For some reason, if someone has already been reported either by me or another user, when it tries to report again, it says something along the lines of "this user has already been reported". Shouldn't it extend the report? It does sometimes, but not all the time. AND I know you don't use Huggle a lot, but I was wondering if maybe you knew. {{adminhelp}} A while back there was an IP, 67.80.106.105, that continually attempted to add their own high school love story to Love triangle. They quit for a while, but came back today. When I went to warn them, I saw that they had told the entire story on their talk page. I blanked it, but am still concerned about the level of detail and personal information that it contained. It contained the names of several minors, the schools they attend, and the name of some parents. I did a quick Google search and found a post to a site which confirms that this is a real person and not a short story. So, my question is: Does an admin think that the personal information should be deleted or will the blanking suffice? Thanks! Apparition11 Complaints/ Mistakes 17:28, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

{{

on your userpage, talk page, or wherever you want it to show your status. Then, at
User:Zhang He/status, you will place "online", "offline", etc. (without the quotation marks). If you look at
Template:UserStatus and scroll down to the table, the triggers are what you type in to get the result. Looking at Martin's page, it appears that he is just transcluding a page instead of really giving one of these status templates. To do that, just make a subpage, then place {{
your subpage name here}}
wherever you want it to show. For a better explanation of this, you can read
Wikipedia:Transclusion. Hope this helps.

I decided to go back to Mozilla until I get my rollback rights back so I can use Twinkle easier. It's a hassle to be on IE 8, but having to go on Mozilla for Twinkle. Once I get my rights back, which will hopefully be soon now that I've gotten more active in reverting vandalism, I'll go back to IE 8. It's too bad Twinkle doesn't work on IE 8. I'd like to request a personal review from you. I'd like you to start at October 1st. That's when I started to revert vandalism without Huggle, but only like one or two reverts a day. Take a look at everything have done and do. Once you see this message, disregard looking at more edits. When done, post your comments here. Be hard on me if you need to on some edits. It won't offend me since I am requesting this. Point out every single good and bad edit (this doesn't mean to comment on every single edit, just the ones that you thought were good or bad). This will basically give me an idea if my chances look good, okay, or bad of Martin giving me my rollback rights back. Thank you. - Zhang He ( talk) 22:16, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
Where can I make my own? I don't want "approximately". I want the exact time. The one I just updated to is a minute off (might be less than a minute, (Ex: 37 seconds off), but you get my point). The one I had before was exact, it was just in military time, which I don't dislike, but I don't use it a lot, so it confuses it. This IP address is repeatedly adding the same thing to several pages, which is obviously unsourced, and I've reverted it several times, but I'm afraid if I continue, I may be warned with edit warring, so I am stopping. (outdent) About your question above, the other editor was out of line for calling it vandalism. I do agree with him that it wasn't a good move for a few reasons, but being vandalistic is certainly not one of them. The first reason that the move wasn't very good is WP:ENGVAR. We should retain the original national variety of English unless there are strong national ties to the subject. The second is that looking at the talk page, this has been brought up before and declined. The last would be that it was moved via a cut and paste move. This fractures the page history and should be avoided. Cheers! Apparition11 Complaints/ Mistakes 06:41, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello Martin. I've spent the past couple of days thinking about your offer as well as going through some recent RfAs. Previously, I didn't have any interest in adminship, however, after thinking about it, I have changed my mind. I do believe that it is something that I could handle and I would like to help do more of the maintenance work here and help keep backlogs down. However, when looking at the recent trends, I've seen the emphasis on content editing. Unfortunately, that is something that I feel that I've kind of steered away from recently. So, I think that I really need to get back to that and demonstrate that I can practice what I preach before making a run for the mop. I think that I'll take a month or so to do this so I'll be able to demonstrate my knowledge of these guidelines and policies and then possibly make a run. I really do appreciate your offer. It really does mean a lot to me. Cheers! Apparition11 Complaints/ Mistakes 08:17, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

I still need you to do my review starting at "11:00, January 26, 2010 (hist | diff) m The Elements of Style (Reverted edits by 216.234.144.40 to last revision by Zhang He (HG))" (Remember that my time zone is PDT (well, it was PST in January), so look for whatever time it was for you when it was 11:00am here) and stop at the end of my reverts from yesterday (April 20th) (before I changed my status to offline for bed). I really need you to do this, because I'm interested in becoming an administrator, so I need GOOD and BAD/BAD-ISH edits pointed out to me. With those things said, you can see why the review is important to me. Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles ( talk) 04:51, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

[5] I'll shed some light for you. There has been a bit of an on-going issue with the interpreter of Anyang Halla. He also does the team's English PR. before I cleaned that up to GA status it was a constant back and forth with him cutting and pasting press releases into the article until his main account ended up blocked for a month awhile back. He now mostly edits from an IP, it's been static for a long time but it's either changed or he wasn't editing from his usual computer. Basically any time a story ends up mentioning the team or asia league he goes and adds it to a few articles in the references section but without actually drawing content from them. Hi Kevin I am currently working at Griffith University and I have been instructed by our Vice Chancellor and President to work on the Griffith University wikipedia page to update details of our deputy VC and provost in particular along with certain schools, faculties, centres and other statistics and information related to the university. The page at current lacks a lot of information about certain aspects of the university I wanted contribute and improve to the page. I had written a lot of content about the five campuses at Griffith and tried to be factual and informative. I did read your note about using external sites for a source of information. I had rewrote the text to some extent in my own words, but can I also site the text "as per the Griffith website" as my source?
I would greatly appreciate your cooperation and in working with us to improve the page. We want the community to be able to find reliable and factual information about Griffith University and would kindly appreciate any feedback or suggestions you may have. We wanting to put more content and images on the page about the university, its campuses and other information that the community will find useful. Kind regards, Jonathan Mecha3 ( talk) 10:22, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
I saw that you had rejected my additions to the page entitled list of automated testing tools. The reason was that you felt it was advertising. However according to Wiki's terms:
Advertising. All information about companies and products are written in an objective and unbiased style. Article topics must be third-party verifiable, so articles about very small "garage" or local companies are typically unacceptable. External links to commercial organizations are acceptable if they identify major organizations which are the topic of the article.
The link I provided goes directly to solution pages which describe the same products that are the topic of the Wiki article. These provide descriptions of
what the products are or do, which companies provide training on those products. So the link is informative and relevant, and not any different than any of the links
to product pages on the vendors sites themselves.
I would ask that you review and reinstate my edit to the page.
thanks,

According to Wikipedia "articles should be based on reliable, published sources. The word "source" as used on Wikipedia has three related meanings: the piece of work itself (the article, book), the creator of the work (the writer, journalist), and the publisher of the work". All the facts of this article are published in the book Mission in Chechnya by Nova Science in New York. Publisher Nova Scienceis must be considered as third party source. Hi, I've been trying to edit the hip hop music page so that the correct 4 elements of hip hop are shown. These are djing, mcing (rapping), b-boying (breakdancing) and graffiti. These are the original elements of hip hop and you can check this anywhere. Sampling was not invented when hip hop was created and beatboxing is not one of the elements either. If you care about hip hop as I assume you must to be editing the page I'm sure you would want the facts to be correct. I will edit the page to show the above details and if you check your facts I'm sure you won't need to change it back. Hi there.
Whilst I have no issues with what you said in your message about the reversion can you elaborate on why other obvious links were not likewise removed as well.
I am fair. If nobody tries to advertise then I won't either. I get the principle now you've mentioned it but would appreciate a level playing field. City Sprint turnover millions and I don't, DHL is a "common carrier" and I am a courier. Why are they shown in my category and allowed to advertise when I am not?
I am a new type of company in the courier marketplace in the UK. I use a nationwide fleet of self employed subbies and am popular with this fleet. I obtain business from across the country from Scotland to Cornwall yet I only have one location.
Use of carrier companies in the courier definition is unfair and prolongs a mis-defined category? Providing a visible advertising platform to a company like City Sprint that is a genuine courier company but is taking the 'mick' out of little old me by using its wider power to advertise in Wiki is also unfair; likewise LTG, (whoever they are).
For the word courier to be properly defined in Wiki it must surely be perfectly ethical. You see where I am coming from?
JC Couriers Ltd has been trading for over 21 years on the word courier, so I am something of an expert in this field.
I am not however an expert at Wiki and bow to your superior knowledge.
Kind Regards Mario For and on behalf of JCC — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jccouriersltd ( talk • contribs)
Hi Apparition11, Every post I have added has been deleted, yet I am the chairman of this organisation and have only tried to upload truthful and objective facts, not inaccurate fragments. The points that are up that remain are simply not true or accurate. For example, 95% of sightings are explainable, not hoaxes. Hoaxes are a very small proportion of cases, where people go out of their way to deliberately deceive. The UFO Encyclopaedia was not written by Sir Patrick Wall but our very own long standing member, John Spencer. The witness support group ceased in the 1990s due to the group closing in on its own belief systems and after this exploratory group ceased, it further added to our research data that hypnotic regression and these kinds of groups did not work. Rendlesham forest is not a frequent meet for us, we have trained investigators that appear at every location in the U.K. and that includes conferences too. Every statement in the controversy section is misleading and poorly constructed grammatically and factually. The alien autopsy (Santilli case) was allowed to be shown at a conference, but was not fully endorsed by the BUFORA committee. The sources and references at the bottom are very poor indirect references to the organisation and there are hundred of others which show more balanced and factual interviews from the media when we have spoken to the press over the last fifty years. This page, since I requested a balanced edit which would actually look at the positive and scientifically based research and investigation of this internationally respected group, the oldest in the U.K. What has remained is fragmented. I and my colleagues are the copyright holders and custodians of all the magazine files, case files, audio, video and all media over the last fifty years of our operation. I find it most concerning that a simple and balanced statement of our operations in any section or past summary has not been allowed. A distorted and inaccurate version has prevailed for years, now to be replaced by inconsistent and inaccurate fragmented and totally wrong entries. If this situation is not remedied, I will have to take further action, as I am fed up with seeing the now two inaccurate and misleading entries on wikipedia gaining the prominence of a first page appearance on google searches, when it still prevails to state, quite frankly, completely inaccurate and misleading information. The statements I had put forward are objective and factual and they do not infringe copyright, we are the copyright! I should know, I spent two years digitising and archiving over 55 years worth of every magazine and article we ever produced. O.K. perhaps, I may not have added these pages correctly, but in all that text were excellent and truthful facts and data about our group. This would have still helped you add some of these as an editor. To simply bounce them back and find the pages back in the same utter mess they now currently stand is a very poor state of affairs indeed. Too factual, too close to our website, in breach of OUR own copyright? Do you really want this to be built on disgruntled ex-members and inaccurate and misleading fragments of countless inaccurate internet misquotes?
Please contact me via the associations website at www.bufora.org.uk I await your reply with great interest.

Plese do not confuse yourselves with unnecessarylines of thinking. My edits on the page are more or less consistent with facts and also that personal analysis can be added anywhere and it is perfectly legal as far as its not fabricated and lie filled propoganda. You have to understand that YOU DO NOT HAVE RIGHTS TO MAKE PROPOGANDA over anyone and any high handed editing that would come in way of facts would be considered terrorism and reported to police who would terminate wikipedia. You must understand that we do not have time here to go to courts over staright issues and it is not mandated or advisable. Could you please explain why www.carnity.com link has been removed from Dubai (wiki page). Carnity is an online Car Community in Dubai. It is free for members and have no ads to generate any revenue or any type of business from referral links or something.
Instead link of Dubai.com is purely business generation website for travel needs. Like Dubai.com there are 1 million websites that are offering tour and packages for Dubai, so how come that is entitled and allowed. Please explain that. Thanks in advance.

It makes it easier to deal with vandals, as we usually try to give them a couple warnings before blocking. In this case the user was blocked anyway because the only edits were spam, but some people spam without realizing they are spamming. Thanks! 00:03, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I am new to the Wikipedia accounts, and I am new to the world of the internet as well,
It was never my intention to spam anyone at anytime, I will delete my link, if you will inform me how to do it. I thought that I read the instructions, but I guess I did not.
Would you please point me to the guidelines, that are detailed, so I can learn from this.
Thank you for time and patience.

I would like you to explain why you considered it necessary to revert my (rather minor) edit of adding two categories to the article on the grounding punishment.
The categories added are fully in line with the scientific consensus on the damaging nature of this particular form of punishment (especially when prolonged). When stripped of the "bringing up your kids" value load and considered as what it fundamentally is, grounding clearly belongs to a certain range of severe psychological coercion techniques. Laypeople are not very aware (or are in straight-out denial) of the negative effects, presumably due to the value load and many having been subjected to it themselves and justifying the violation as deserved punishment for flaws in one's being. This is all extensively discussed in the literature.
I see I forgot to add an edit summary, which was an unfortunate error on my part. My reading is that this might have caused you to think the edit was not intended to be serious. It was very much so. In any case, I will not re-add the categories without further discussion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.248.254.68 ( talk) 03:08, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Hey, I've noticed you've made some edits to the Pirpiai page. Since I am new here, I was wondering if you could tell me how to change the name of the page from "Pir Piai" to "Pirpiai" which is how it's supposed to be, or if it would be easier for you to do it. Since I was nearly killed in one of their warehouses in an gross negligent incident that also involved county officials, I think it is prudent that I had a property dispute with this company that was being forcefully blocked PRIOR to purchase by Berkshire.
I made a stipulated demand of a highly structured company position with guarantees, or a 9 figure settlement since locality officials were allowed to use the property in what resulted in a near life ending injury.
Hence, I claim to own the company lock stock and barrel PLUS nearly 20 years of proffits earned.

Sorry your logical thought does not get the picture. Im stating that you are erroniously claiming ownership by Berkshire. They DID NOT SETTLE a near life ending injury prior. Berkshire does NOT own the company I do. I fully insist that you change this record that I own the company by default. Hello there, I added a reverse engineering tool to the text that is entirely focused on reverse engineering windows computers and software. It is taking raw memory bits and reconstructs all software and kernel structures. This is a reverse engineering tool and capability that was not listed and you can verify it at the link that it is not spam. To my knowledge the tool had no wikipedia page so therefore used an external link. I have no problem with you removing this but I am a researcher and I believe mentioning it is more relevant than several other tools mentioned on the page. Anyway, I recommend that you leave at least one reference or rather add it in a way that makes sense following your guidelines better but not adding it makes this page outdated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Forensicsguru ( talk • contribs) 14:00, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. I just read the policy about external links. It does not appear to be so straightforward as you imply. Let us revisit it here. " There are several things that should be considered when adding an external link.
Is the site content accessible to the reader? Is the site content proper in the context of the article (useful, tasteful, informative, factual, etc.)? Is the link functioning and likely to remain functional?
"
1) the link added and content was accessible 2) the content is proper and highly relevant (more than other content already there). It is a reverse engineering tool and free download is available. Lot more information is accessible. 3) the link was functioning and because it was the domain link used it is very likely to remain functional.
" Links to be considered A well-chosen link to a directory of websites or organizations. Sites that fail to meet criteria for reliable sources yet still contain information about the subject of the article from knowledgeable sources. "
I feel the link added was meeting the above suggestions.
My suggestion to address this (please select/advise on choice): 1) we can point to a blog entry/ content on the website (instead of the main website URL) referring to capabilities of this tool.
2) we can point to the same URL as originally (if you accept the arguments above -- if you do not please respond with specifics if possible so that I understand reason)
3) we can use multiple sources: I would still add 2) but in addition to a third-party article that I just found about it. Adding just the article alone would be an incomplete reference so I think using both would be more precise while not violating any of the wikipedia policy points to my understanding.
Please advise.
Yes, it is a reliable third-party link -- article appeared in Computerworld and available on the web. (bdw, Please, I would appreciate if you stop referring to this as spam. I added it because it was appropriate in terms of content. Spam suggests to most people that is not relevant content. The external link rule is one thing and spam is another.).
So the question is (I am unclear what you are suggesting) if we can add that text with a reference to the Computerword article at least?
Also, there are several tool vendors in the other wikipedia list you just brought up. These are companies that are listed and have a separate wikipedia page with a couple of references and even external company link. So, either a more recent tool like WindowsSCOPE shall be added the same way (i.e., can a new wikipedia entry be created with third-party references and then in the list the windowsscope entry would point to its own wikipedia page similar to the other vendors?) or all the other tools shall be removed from wikipedia.
Please advise. I would be happy to talk this through on the phone if that helps. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Forensicsguru ( talk • contribs) 13:29, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi Apparition11, I only just joined Wikipedia so maybe I'm missing something.... I started adding UK independent record labels to the wiki list a few days ago as it is something of a personal interest and there are a few well known independents missing from the list.
I just logged in a few moments ago and saw that you have undone all of the changes I made. I'm not sure what I did wrong because I never added any pages (seems logical to update the list first), please can you let me know why you undone all my edits so that I don't make the same mistake. I logged in today to continue updating but it seems a bit pointless me continuing to add to Wikipedia if its will just be undone, It looked ok when I saved it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81monkeys ( talk • contribs) 15:15, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

You removed all of these on July 26th. None of the comments were spam and all cited authoritative sources. The removal has left some pages with incorrect information.
I did put them on before I set up a Wikipedia account and username so I understand if this is the reason.
I now have an account.
I did email you but it appears that this talk age is the best way to contact you.

Medical Equipment Rentals is a huge industry and upon doing a search for medical equipment rentals the number one online resource in google (non specific company) was RentItToday.com. It seemed appropriate given there is not a related medical equipment rental page on Wikipedia to put a resource for readers. That site does not profit from on control the rental/reservation process and again a high percentage of people searching medical equipment are looking for rentals.
However I am new to Wikipedia started editing wiki's on AboutUs.org a while ago and really like it. I have every intention of adding value to a given page/topic and would not link to a bad neighborhood, untrusted source, etc.
Please advise.
I know a lot about the rental industry and it is an interest of mine, but in general have so many hobbies and interests that I'd like to learn and understand the best practices here in order to enjoy contributing.
A no follow link on a page that gets minimal traffic is not of high value to a site like Rent It Today. Again, I did think it would be a valuable resource if people searching for medical equipment came across that page. Medical Device Rentals or a section on renting durable medical supplies, commercial hospital equipment, etc would be valuable for the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Matt898 ( talk • contribs) 04:01, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

M. Klein doesn't even exist..... Nor does his website. If anyone here even took the time to visit the website behind this link, they would see that it's full of crap... And many others links like this are not far behind.
So please, before deleted my edits, stop and think for a second. This is Open Source for heavens sake.

Free advertising is not what I am doing... I am simply posting content that is unique and useful for people. Have you ever attended a therapy session? That link is to a website of exactly what I wrote about. That link is no different than the use of a few keywords WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT EVERYONE ELSE DOES! Relating keywords to relevant content. Spamming is simply linking sporadically without consideration of content. Once again, there is tones of this stuff like that on this page, so please be fair and objective before calling people spammers... If you choose to use threats like blacklisting website etc... then you really don't see what is really going on behind all of those links! Best regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oscontributor ( talk • contribs) 01:20, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
Thank you for contacting me. I appreciate your looking at things. Most Wikipedia articles include list of external links from what I've seen. The guidelines say they are allowed when the link is to additional resources about the specific topic that go beyond what is covered in the topic. That is what I thought I was doing. The links I added are to articles about sales and selling based on research which is not in the Wikipedia article. The articles are by an expert in the field. I am planning on adding to and rewriting some of these two pages because they do not contain this additional research which would leave readers without critical information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Donshapiro ( talk • contribs) 01:01, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Dear Wikipedia user
You recently removed a post that I had added to a page, noting this was for commercial rather than educational or knowledge based interests. From my own experience of using wikipedia, there are numerous posts of a commercial or non-knowledge based nature and often, ideas that are born from a commercial capacity are commonly the drivers for academia. While a little annoyed by your removal of my activities, I appreciate the rational behind this. I would only ask that you are equally vigilant and balanced in your treatment of any other activity that is not purely academic.

If I am adding the locations or the link which shows where the shooting of the movie has taken place, what's wrong in the same? I would request you to please add back those links as well as location details.
If you think I am wrong, please let me know me the reason.Thank you!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.194.80.48 ( talk) 17:22, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your care. Not spamming - I add things in relevant increments. But if you feel it's unsuitable, please delete. But the Joaquin Garcia and a few others? I do disagree - hugely relevant!

I basically did what you mentioned previously about leaving a discussion and whatnot before you let it get to you here. I wasn't really involved aside from giving the IP that began the discussion a warning for improperly templating an administrator. I decided to give an opinion on that and got jumped on. Then I got the "I looked at your block history" card, basically saying I shouldn't comment on that (I think) because of it. So I responded later saying it was just an opinion, I was leaving the discussion and to have a good night. - Amaury ( talk) 04:27, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

So I broke my record for the most messages in one month. I got 50 last month, with the previous record being 43 in February 2010. =) Also, it's amazing what can go on while one is sleeping or not online yet, as I got dragged into ANI for removing a link because, if I read the IP's comment right, it was a false positive. I note that you have recently removed two posts on the Placemaking page. One is a link to an academic paper and another a link to a private practice that specializes in urban research in addition to private projects.
I note that you allow external links from other consultants and posts of a similar nature - surely this it is the purpose of Wikapedia to remain objective. After all, impartiality has to be the strength of the site.
Kindly review and advise.

Hi. I saw that You removed the externel link on Magento wiki page. I think it could stay for academic purposes. The link is the only place where everybody from the Magento community can find Magento extensions from may different sources in place, it has own blog page and support community with magazine and trends on the market. So I think this is independent source - comparing to whole Magento Connect commercial site - which is linked in many sources on wiki. Thanks
Paul — Preceding unsigned comment added by Innovaction ( talk • contribs) 01:26, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi. this page is full of commercial links - see link from Magento Magik and other. If You are talking that Magento Independent Marketplace is bad link - see all reference links... 80% of them are commercials.

So, You allow commercial links, but disallow links for blogs and community stuff like Magento Magazine YES ? And this kind policy is right with Wikipedia, and You are God here and decide what is allowed and what is not ? If so please, remove all commercial links - like this from reference - related to Magento Extensions - Magik Commerce and others. Thanks You

Hi Apparition11, First of all I appreciate the work that senior editors like yourself do, that's what keeps wikipedia such a great resource, spam free and ad free. Secondly I like to clarify that my edit was not intended as spam nor an advert for any organization I am associated with. I was just adding my two cents worth from my local knowledge as a resident of the city. - Events like Dubai Shopping festival, Dubai summer surprises, etc.. are popular events with tourists and locals. - These are government sponsored/supported events. - Any article talking of shopping in Dubai, I felt is incomplete without some reference to this. - Another interesting feature of shopping in Dubai is that unlike other cities where there are "sale seasons", in Dubai there sale season is throughout the year and the external link was just provided as a reference. - I'm not associated with any of the above events nor the website. The reason I chose this external link is that this is Ad-free unlike other similar sites, it's an information blog popular with people here.
If you think I've justified I'd request you to reinstate the edit. If not, I still respect your decision, like I said earlier, if it's not for dedicated folks like you, wikipedia wouldn't be the much loved open encyclopedia of the web.

This is in regard to Lucas Cruikshank. "Cruikshank is openly gay..." All the sources, except for the YouTube video, on the Wikipedia page link to the YouTube video, which is how I found this. However, I've heard that YouTube videos aren't always reliable sources. Because of the way he responded, all laughing and such, he could have just been joking like a lot of people do. Kind of like that whole thing where a straight male friend "hacks" one of their straight male friend's Facebook accounts and posts "I'm gay" in various forms (I've come out of the closet, etc.).
I'm all for equal rights, so I obviously don't care if he's gay, but I'm just wondering if those are reliable sources. - Amaury ( talk) 17:26, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

My PC's all repaired now. The power supply and graphics card went out, making it difficult to get the tower to send a signal to the monitor when we shut it down and turned it on later or restarted it. It started late May. We sent it in to Windy City Computers Tuesday, June 9th, 2009 and it was ready today. =D - Eugene Krabs ( talk) 20:35, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
It's not working today. For some reason, it's saying it's out of date. I attempt to log in, an error occurs, I hit continue (if hit it'll ignore the error and attempt to continue), an update thing comes up, that has an error. - Eugene Krabs ( talk) 17:28, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
I'll most likely wait a little more before applying, but do you think that my chances at becoming an administrator look very high by how good I've been lately? I have not been "truly" blocked since February 26th. By the way, Huggle version 0.9.1 appears to be crashing a lot. And no, it's not from trying the X button that's in the process of being fixed. It's that one other error. - Eugene Krabs ( talk) 16:07, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Huggle 0.9.0 didn't crash this much. I'm thinking it has something to do with the IRC problems right now (you have to uncheck the IRC box right now to be able to do anything). - Eugene Krabs ( talk) 17:44, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Also, sorry if some things might not make sense. I typed this fast.
Thanks in advance. - Eugene Krabs ( talk) 17:23, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Fell asleep little early last night, like around 10:15. Woke up at 12:50, fell asleep, woke up sometime around 2:15 (can't remember there), fell asleep, woke up at 3:10, fell asleep, woke up at 4:30, fell asleep, woke up at 5:25, stayed away because it was just 10 minutes away from my first alarm of the three I have (5:35, 5:45, 5:55) for The Amanda Show at 6:00 to 7:00 (PDT) on The N. It's actually on at 9:00 to 10:00, but because The N goes by EDT, it's 6:00 to 7:00 for me. Didn't really affect me, though. 5, 6, 7 hours are enough for me. I don't really do the 8 hour thing. Though I heard somewhere that when you're a teenager, you need more sleep, such as 12 hours. Not sure if it's true, though.
Anyway, they were a little inaccurate with the weather with the weekend that just passed. Saturday was like 84-85, not 101-104 and Sunday was like 77-84, not 101-104.

Hey, could you help me with two things?
1. Can you see if you can figure out what editing program they used for the end credits when the show was still airing here? Skip to 23:10 and watch until the end. Or use this and skip to 21:10. Again, watch until the end. I suggest watching both. The credits on the first one are slower.
2. Can you see if you can dig up why Episode 29 (season two, episode 16) hasn't re-aired since its original airing? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Amanda_Show_(season_two)
Please at least try if you can. Thanks! - Zhang He ( talk) 00:58, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

{{

on your userpage, talk page, or wherever you want it to show your status. Then, at
User:Zhang He/status, you will place "online", "offline", etc. (without the quotation marks). If you look at
Template:UserStatus and scroll down to the table, the triggers are what you type in to get the result. Looking at Martin's page, it appears that he is just transcluding a page instead of really giving one of these status templates. To do that, just make a subpage, then place {{

wherever you want it to show. For a better explanation of this, you can read
Wikipedia:Transclusion. Hope this helps.

At the end of 2009 I want to archive all 2009 discussions. Would I do that the same way I do now for months?
Here's an example of what I want below:
== 2009 ==
An archive of 2009 discussions can be found [URL to all the months here].
From there, you would see what you see on talk page now, just that the months wouldn't be listed on my talk page, just the 2009 link. There would me a new section created in my talk page user space.

I'm not sure if you can see the edit summaries on pages you have on your watchlist, but if you can't, I edited my post because I made a typo and put December 20th instead of December 30th, so don't be concerned if you don't see a reply and think something's wrong with the site. =P - Zhang He ( talk) 16:24, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
If you wouldn't mind and can find the time, would you review my edits starting from January 1st, 2010? I'm sure you'll find some bad edits/reverts. :) However, to prevent missing edits, ignore edits after this post and only review edits made before this edit to your talk page. I might also ask for another review when January ends Sunday. February this year is actually on the first day of the school/work (for some jobs, anyway) week. This IP address is repeatedly adding the same thing to several pages, which is obviously unsourced, and I've reverted it several times, but I'm afraid if I continue, I may be warned with edit warring, so I am stopping. However, its edits are very suspicious, especially considering it's adding the same thing to several pages. I reported it, but they didn't find it as vandalism, so I am asking for your help.
Here are its contributions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/75.118.188.189
If you go through them, you'll be able to see that I've reverted some of its edits on the history of some pages, but as I said, I don't want to get accused of edit warring, so I am stopping, but it's getting out of hand. Thanks! - Zhang He ( talk) 04:23, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

I would ask that you review and reinstate my edit to the page.
thanks,

Dear Apperation11 Jaques of London are over 216 years and inventors of some of the world’s finest games. Please read the official table tennis page, croquet page, and Jaques of London page. The pages I have applied links to are 100% relevant and not sale related. The games pages linked from to games which our company invented. I urge you to conduct further research before simply removing valid links. if you read the copy in the main body you will see our company is credited with the invention of table tennis - it would there seem only fair to provide the revelvant link.

Hi,
I believe that most of the external links that I have edited is related to the topic. An example will be Aviation in Singapore. Singapore Aviation Academy is the only aviation academy in Singapore. We are under the Civil Aviation Academy of Singapore and every air traffic controller in Singapore needs to be trained under Singapore Aviation Academy. I believe that I have edited a few links on the 9 November 2011. It was only removed on 14 November 2011 which is 5 days later. May I know the rationale for doing so? Thanks.

Hey there, I just reported this user for spamming and noticed that you had reverted a few of the same type of edits. In the future would you mind leaving warning messages on the user's talk page? It makes it easier to deal with vandals, as we usually try to give them a couple warnings before blocking. In this case the user was blocked anyway because the only edits were spam, but some people spam without realizing they are spamming. Thanks! 00:03, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for reverting the change on the Donald Trump article. I noticed that someone had revised his page to say that he is a "badger baiter," whatever that might be. In trying to revert that to the last known good edit, I didn't change it at all. It looks good now though.
You beat me to reverting those self-promoting edits on the page...! TheMagnificentSpider ( talk) 11:40, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

We had made an addition(Khurram H. Alavi) to the list of names in your article for the surname Alavi. It was edited and removed a few hours later.
Just wondering what the reason was. Khurram is working with us on several projects, and we felt that his name should be in the list of notable names. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.200.187.10 ( talk) 14:45, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for leaving me a message.
Hi, I'm not going to stop with with annoying link removal business... If you simply looked at the page in question, you would see that my content and link are no different!!!
Before making any rash or subjective decisions, ARE YOU HONESTLY trying to tell everyone that this link is ok and mine is not??? Klein, M. Free Couples CounselingItalic text Canadian Association of Couples Counseling Oct 11, 2011.
M. Klein doesn't even exist..... Nor does his website. If anyone here even took the time to visit the website behind this link, they would see that it's full of crap... And many others links like this are not far behind.
So please, before deleted my edits, stop and think for a second. This is Open Source for heavens sake.
None the less, if these links exist on wikipedia, I will keep on posting.... Fair is fair... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oscontributor ( talk • contribs) 00:41, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
Would you like to see more of these links?
Hi, this is with reference to your deletion of links on Minimum Viable Product
Your message: "Hello, I'm Apparition11. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Minimum viable product, because it seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. My Reply: "The links are appropriate to the best of my knowledge. They are about what is included in Minimum Viable Product(MVP) and how it helps raise funding for a startup. These articles add value to the Wiki article and can help many readers. That is basically the whole point of keeping "External Links". The articles are well researched and belong to the blog of Idyllic Software. Please re-consider your editing. Kindly let me know why you think the links to be inappropriate. Hi,
Thank you for contacting me.
You took of my posting about notable alumni from Jackson Prep today. Everything I have posted is factual, and Ben Molpus is in fact a very notable alumni from Jackson Prep. Jackson is a small town and everyone from there knows of him. Also, I was looking at the wikipedia instructions for editing page that talked about being bold in what I edit. So this is exactly what I was doing. I was being bold with factual information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.15.98.225 ( talk) 21:11, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

B. Parkinson — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brian Parkinson ( talk • contribs) 09:56, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Thanks
