Millions of people have sold trinkets out of their suitcase. I could argue that outside of New Zealand/India, this hook isn't interesting at all. But then, I clicked on the article and realized he was one of the first immigrants to New Zealand and started a successful business. The hook is meant to draw you in. Playoffs is linked in the hook and the article is clearly interesting to a broad audience. Playoffs isn't any different, its a single elimination game played at the end of the season or competition. That's the Cambridge Dictionary definition of the word. And the football (soccer) article I linked above is almost the exact type of playoff system. Semi-finals lead to a final and a champion.
