I don't agree that this should be marked for deletion. These are very influential papers by noteworthy individuals. Many are ACM fellows and at least one author has served as president of Stanford University. This is a significant award in and out of the field. Cypherquest ( talk) 02:39, 4 June 2017 (UTC) reply

After additional edits and links to and from the page, I've deleted the earlier tags. Please continue to discuss if you feel this was premature. Thank you for upholding our Wikipedia standards. Cypherquest ( talk) 03:29, 4 June 2017 (UTC) reply

Kudpung Please join in - after the kind suggestion to improve the article, I have added numerous links to and from the page as well as external cites. The tag said I could remove it after appropriate edits. Wikipedia:WikiProject Awards and prizes, Wikipedia:WikiProject Computer science, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Computing are interested in expanding our work in these important areas. Please take a look at the other ACM SIG articles and existing award articles and share the significant differences in the application of the delete requests. Again - thank you for your efforts to uphold standards - additional information is much appreciated - or better yet, participation in bringing these articles up to standards. It would be joy to co-author with you. :) Cypherquest ( talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:18, 4 June 2017 (UTC) updated the links Cypherquest ( talk) 05:23, 4 June 2017 (UTC) reply

This award may well be important but more important for us are the notability criteria we apply. We can't include an article where the only background available is what the subject has to say about itself. That is the foremost and most important of all our criteria. Also, the listing of people in article who do not have their own Wikipedua article is also generally disallowed per WP:LISTPEOPLE. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง ( talk) 05:26, 4 June 2017 (UTC) reply
I've added external links to enhance notability. Many authors warrant an article (we are writing them as time permits). Not adding links until a suitable page is created appears to be a relatively standard practice, but we could add additional red links if desired. Cypherquest ( talk) 12:15, 4 June 2017 (UTC) reply

I don't see any discussion on merging - and certainly there has not been sufficient time to participate - let alone to have the discussion arrive at a consensus.

Please allow the seven days for discussion rather than declaring that the idea to merge has been agreed upon.
