"Copper is an essential trace element that is vital to the health of all living things (humans, plants, animals, and microorganisms). In humans, copper is essential to the proper functioning of organs and metabolic processes. "

Why do I feel this sort of extraordinary sounding claim needs extraordinary evidence? Link to multi-generational study of animals fed diet totally free of any metals and what were the results? (the diet should be high quality, just with the trace metals absent. Some artificial lab study feeding overtly simplified diet won't qualify to answer this properly)

For other minerals that are also essential nutrients, most have separate articles for the mineral and the mineral in biology (Example: Selenium and Selenium in Biology). Some incorporate all of the biology/health information into the main article. "Copper" and "Copper in Health" have overlapping content, and might benefit from a reorganization along the lines of other minerals. David notMD ( talk) 11:56, 6 September 2017 (UTC) reply
