Iran's country code

Iran's country code was "IRN" until 1988; is it possible to change this and other codes of Iran prior 1988 from "IRI" to "IRN"?

FAR

Hi. A couple days ago I've done a review to GA of the spanish version of this FA. It surprise me the low amount of text, and I can see almost the same problems that es:WP.

  • The 1974 Asian Games -plural- was -singular- a multi-sport event
The singular verb can occur when the "Games" refers to a particular, singular event. Do you really think reviewers of this article did not know about grammatical number? — Bill william compton Talk 06:31, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
I saw review and no one say any word about grammar. Ganímedes ( talk) 09:18, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
Because nothing is wrong with the grammar. — Bill william compton Talk 03:47, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
Because no one simms to make a deep review of nothing. -- Ganímedes ( talk) 09:42, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
Yes, but only mention this, no others, no longer explanation, no nothing. Ganímedes ( talk) 09:18, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
Why would I mention other sports if there is nothing to mention about them? — Bill william compton Talk 03:47, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
Why mention this in intro and give no further info? Why is this so matter if we´re talking about 1974 and no other future behevior is included? -- Ganímedes ( talk) 09:42, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
  • The Republic of China (Taiwan) was expelled from the Games after the decision made in the Asian Games Federation's conference held on November 16, 1973, to allow the entry of the People's Republic of China. - Why it was expelled? Not say any reason
It was expelled "to allow the entry of the People's Republic of China." — Bill william compton Talk 06:31, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
That say nothing to me. Why need one be expelled to get other in? Ganímedes ( talk) 09:18, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
I'm not going to explain Cross-Strait relations. This article is about the medals not about the political status of Taiwan. — Bill william compton Talk 03:47, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
No, but a short sentence helps to readers to understand. Isn´t this a Featured list? -- Ganímedes ( talk) 09:42, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
  • Mongolia and North Korea also entered the Games for the first time. - Wrong place. Why "also"? It´s talking about Taiwan expelled, not first time entry
With Taiwan's expulsion, previous sentence is also talking about the début of China. — Bill william compton Talk 06:31, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
Yes, but there is another sentence above talking about "debut". Could fix there perfectly. -- Ganímedes ( talk) 09:42, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
  • Competitors from the host nation, Iran, finished at the second spot in the medal table, - Medal tables include countries, not competitors
But these medals are won by competitors. — Bill william compton Talk 06:31, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
Yes, but even so sentence is wrong. Ganímedes ( talk) 09:18, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
What's wrong with the sentence. It is factually and grammatically correct. — Bill william compton Talk 03:47, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
    See below -- Ganímedes ( talk) 09:42, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
  • All first paragraph of "Medal table" is an explanation than could perfectly fit in a note, but no necessarelly be part of the article
This "explanation" actually clarifies the convention used for the medal table, which should come before the table, so that readers may understand how this table has been assembled. — Bill william compton Talk 06:31, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
  • Is not need at top, could be a note, and make unnecesary long article. Besides, should be over table and no in first place?

Ganímedes ( talk) 09:18, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply

One short table is not ennough, certainly, but all I see here could perfectly fit in main article. There´s no reason to a list, and no, one table of 20 lines is not a full list. Ganímedes ( talk) 09:18, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
Again, different definition of lists. — Bill william compton Talk 03:47, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
No, not at all. -- Ganímedes ( talk) 09:42, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply

Overall article it's too short, incomplete and with source problems to be GA, not to mention FA. Thanks. Ganímedes ( talk) 15:03, 3 December 2013 (UTC) reply

This is a featured list not a featured article; both have different sets of criteria. We judge articles by their content not their size, article is complete (considering its limited scope) and links are ought to rot, which have been fixed now. — Bill william compton Talk 06:31, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
And as I said, 20 lines in a table is not enough for a list alone. Wikipedia:Featured list criteria#Comprehensiveness: (b) In length and/or topic, it meets all of the requirements for stand-alone lists; does not violate the content-forking guideline, does not largely duplicate material from another article, and could not reasonably be included as part of a related article. This table could be perfectly fit in main article (not so long, neither). Ganímedes ( talk) 09:22, 4 December 2013 (UTC) reply
It neither duplicates material from the main article nor could reasonably be included there. Our featured content reviews are very thorough. — Bill william compton Talk 03:47, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
It is very reasonable to include, since half of the table is already in main article. Merging both increase value of first, since this one as you say is "limitated" and has nothing else to offer. As I see nothing will notable change, I´ll try something different. Cheers. -- Ganímedes ( talk) 09:42, 5 December 2013 (UTC) reply
