A fact from Yuki Kawauchi appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 18 March 2013 ( check views). The text of the entry was as follows: Did you know... that marathon runner Yuki Kawauchi shaved his head as an apology to his fans after a poor performance at the Tokyo Marathon meant he missed the London Olympics? This article states that Kawauchi follows the training of Arthur Lydiard. It implies that Lydiard-style training focuses on distance rather than speedwork. While there are certainly more knowledgable Lydiard fans than myself out there, I'm pretty certain that Lydiard used speedwork. Any thoughts before I do some editing?
