User:Ezhiki has moved the page of
Valery Radaev created by me to
Valery Radayev referring to
WP:RUS. I am not sure it is right. 1)
Google search engine gives 85000 hits for already adopted english spelling of russian surname of "Radaev" when "a" is accented letter. But the same
Google returns just 16500 hits to "Radayev". By analogy the same tendency is with famous surname of
Fadeev - 898000 hits and
Fadeyev - just 159000 hits. 2) Formal application of the rule in
WP:RUS as a justification for the moving of the page creates discrepancy between written and spoken surname of the same personality as it now looks misspelt. The rule isn't appropriate to accented "a", but maybe true to unaccented "a". In spoken Russian one can't hear the slavonic sound of "й" in the russian surname of "Radaev". One may meet the same surname in the Northern Caucasus dialect where it can be spelt with slavonic sound of "й" = english "y".
