The result of the move request was: No consensus at this time. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:50, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
– Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, Tom Kim the golfer (born Kim Joo-hyung) is more prominent than Tom Kim the doctor. In the past 90 days, the golfer's Wikipedia page has over 64,000 pageviews, while the doctor's has a mere 814. The golfer is also the top result when searching Google News. Logically, it follows that a professional athlete who receives global coverage in sport news would be known to a wider audience than a doctor who founded a local clinic in Tennessee. The golfer has also said he prefers to be referred to as "Tom" instead of by his given name (fitting the guidance under WP:COMMONNAME) — and he is now referred to as such on the PGA Tour's official website — hence why it makes sense to rename his article instead of creating a disambiguation or continuing use of the hatnote on the doctor's article. There was no opposition to the second part of the move request ( Tom Kim → Tom Kim (doctor)), so I've carried that out and created a primary redirect of Tom Kim to this article. 162 etc. ( talk) 17:04, 5 October 2022 (UTC)
There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Tom Kim which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. — RMCD bot 21:02, 5 October 2022 (UTC)

Kim Joo-hyung → Tom Kim – In accordance with wikipedia naming conventions WP:COMMONNAME should be followed and based on everything I have seen the common name for this subject in English language articles is Tom Kim. The guidance in WP:TRANSLITERATE provides further guidance on the anglicization of names and states that we should used English-language use in the English language version of wikipedia.
