A fact from Lampaansyöjät (film) appeared on Wikipedia's
Main Page in the Did you know column on 4 June 2024 (
check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
The following is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify this page. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as
this nomination's talk page,
the article's talk page or
Wikipedia talk:Did you know), unless there is consensus to re-open the discussion at this page. No further edits should be made to this page.
New, long, hook verified (though I'd trim the hook more). A couple concerns:
Copyright violation is an issue even in translation. Unless Elonet's text is in the public domain, the first two paragraphs of the Production section/second paragraph of Filming are much too close and should be rewritten.
Why is the article not titled
Lampaansyöjät (film)? None of the sources seem to use that English name, nor do databases like
IMDb. I suggest moving it to the Finnish title unless English sources actually use the translated version.
Smaller note, the article mentions a 2019 TV presentation without having introduced it.
@
Hameltion and
Theleekycauldron: Sorry, I've been a bit busy. I've moved the article to use the Finnish name and made a few changes to the languages of the production section just in case. Only I need more detailed information on how to define that last note about the 2019 television presentation.

Juustila: Good start. For the TV thing, just add a mention of it to the Release section to explain why it was getting new reviews. Also: Replace The Sheep Eaters with the Finnish title throughout the body, and the paragraph that begins The Finnish Film Foundation granted is also apparently a direct translation and doesn't totally make sense at that.

Hameltion: Done. For the time being, I removed that section about the TV presentation from the article because it started to raise even more questions even for myself. I'll have to see if I can come back to it sometime in the future, but now this can go without it.
