Would another editor happen to know where we can get a free image of the book cover without copyright restrictions? I don't think that we're allowed to use any of the images on Amazon.com, but I'm happy to be corrected. J Readings ( talk) 22:54, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Does anyone know more about the content of the book? The article writes a lot about the book's reception and the circumstances in which it was written, but I think the article would profit from a section on the book's main propositions or theses. -- 158.143.214.167 ( talk) 20:23, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
I agree. This article could have been titled "Criticism of The Chrysanthemum and the Sword". While I found the criticism interesting and useful, I now know a lot more about the criticism than the book. I would appreciate a section that just summarizes what the the book says. — MiguelMunoz ( talk) 22:34, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Both anthropology and Japan WikiProjects regard the book of low-importance. It is completely wrong, since this book is the first comprehensive study of Japanese culture in America, Japanese cultural critics were especially interested in the author's attempts to portray the whole or total structure ('zentai kōzō') of Japanese Culture, and it caused the birth of nihonjinron, it is no doubt vital for both Americans and Japanese people.-- RekishiEJ ( talk) 17:03, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
