It is interestingly mentioned he was approached to be an MP, told he could become Prime Minister, and that a safe seat would be found for him - but the reader is left wondering from what political party did this come, and whom did he normally support? Caerphilly County Borough "was formed on 1 April 1996 by the merger of the
Rhymney Valley district of
Mid Glamorgan with the
Islwyn borough of
Gwent.
". Watkins was born in
Nelson in 1918, 78 years before the borough was created. So I'm not sure it can be claimed he was "from Caerphilly County Borough"? Thanks.
