NO source tells us anything about Shamoun being an Assyrian. We got 1 source telling us he was aramean. Dejwono ( talk) 20:20, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

I am the great granddaughter of the man himself, we do not see ourselves as Assyrians. My great grandfather talked about Assyrians as not being one of them. We are Syriac-Aramaics (Suryoye) and nothing else. In time I will update this article with CORRECT information about my great grandfather. Rosadbehaydo ( talk) 14:38, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

The hero SH Haydo was Syriac-Aramean and an Assyrianist as claimed by the ideologues. Assyrianism and the so-called Assyrian identity is a modern invention that date to around 1870. We hail from Tur Abdidine and throughout history, we were known as Syrians, old Syrians or Syriacs. Tur Abbdine was an old Aramean kingdom. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.227.132.60 ( talk) 06:23, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Please change the part about the seyfo. He was in prison during that time. This is not chronological possible.. 2A02:A420:262:A3D8:A57A:F85E:55E3:91B9 ( talk) 20:32, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
