On 28 June 2021, it was proposed that this article be moved from Odin (character) to Odin (Marvel Comics). The result of the discussion was moved. |
Placed the non-copyvio first part of the article on the Odin (comics)/Temp subpage. - SoM 20:00, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Continuity question: While Odin vs. Celestials is a fairly well-established event, I am aware of any events wherein Galactus' power is superior, much less considerably superior, to Odin. Indeed, the Odin magic in Thor's hammer drove away Galactus once. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.245.92.20 ( talk • contribs) 04:11, 23 January 2006
That text that someone keeps insisting on is just lifted from a Marvel site.

Odin has clearly defeated both Thanos and The Silver Surfer.
Odin never clearly defeated Thanos. Superman did clearly defeat Thor, however. —Preceding unsigned comment added by KalElKryptonian ( talk • contribs) 22:02, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
Odin being able to take a soul away from Meohisto establsihes that although he may not be as powerful as Galactus persay he is still significantly more powerful than even Thanos or the Silver Surfer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coldbrotha ( talk • contribs) 12:14, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Image back, and so is the tidied up P & A. A look at the P & A reveals it was in need of a cull. Any character really only needs 4 or so examples or what they can do, and there's no point in having smaller efforts in there when there are numerous examples of larger feats, which should also be listed in ascending order according to the "wow!" factor. The mention of Gungir is also now in a small section that deals with Odin in combat, which is appropriate.

Image:T-294.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Unfortunately the article Uru (Marvel Comics), has been deleted.
There is an article List of fictional super metals, which could be linked to. HappyUR ( talk) 09:38, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
This needs a better, clearer, less cluttered image. Surely Jack Kirby drew a full-figure Odin splash page somewhere.-- Tenebrae ( talk) 21:56, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Odin (character) → Odin (Marvel Comics) – The article was moved in late 2019 without discussion from "comics" to "character". While WP:NCCOMICS does say to use "character", per the list of entries at Odin (disambiguation), this isn't the only character with this name. Wikipedia:Naming conventions (comics)#Between characters of different publishers says to use "Marvel Comics" in this situation. Gonnym ( talk) 08:36, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
