Started this article and other articles associated with it a while back. Adding to it slowly. If you have any info don't hesitate to add it here. :) Kinda working with a template for each award's article. Want to stick to it. :) Thanking you... Cookie90 19:59, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
You are going to need all the help with the number of links you have created!! good luck! hydkat 13:59, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
<begin> One thing missing in yourlist of National Film Awards (section) India is the Best Film Critic Award. There are two awards in writing on cinema. One of this is for Best Film Critic and one is for the Best Book on Cinema. I won both awards - the first one in 1991 and the second one (jointly) in 2003. It is awarded in all languages recognized by the Indian constitution and is sometimes accompanied by "commendations" <end>
please feel free to check and add correctly.. -- ti 22:10, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
User:Utcursch has done very hard work on the pages of NFA and changed their style, but I must have disagreed with these edits. In my opinion, the previous version was way better. Apart from it, these new tables are suitable more for filmographies rather than for award pages. The names should remain bold and slanted, whilst the yellow titles in the table are quite good. My main problem is that the new tables are a bit non-notable when they look like this. Best regards, -- Shahid • Talk2me 11:36, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
I have moved the awards for best film in Konkani and Manipuri to the group 'Languages included in [ schedule of the constitution]'.
I have also added links for best film in Bhojpuri, Monpa, and Tulu as awards have been given to :
Ppwrong's editing is most disruptive. Rashtrapati Award is a completely different award which is given individually. Directorate of Film Festivals did not even exist in the 1960s, it was established in 1973. Everything he adds is completely untrue, unless reliable sources can be cited to prove it. Everything is very clearly written in a book called "Working Group on National Film Policy". Shahid • Talk2me 18:56, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
I am suggesting to add an image in infobox. -- Tito Dutta (Talk) 03:40, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Any records? Like maximum wins, youngest winner, oldest winner, posthumous wins, wins for debut performance, etc..... - Animeshkulkarni ( talk) 20:05, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
There are some of the awards which were discontinued over the period of time. Some of them were instituted but was not given consistently and then eventually were discontinued e.g. Best Filmstrip ( 11th National Film Awards) was given only once. Best Newsreel Cameraman was instituted in 1975 and then discontinued in 1983 by awarding only 5 times. Do we need to create separate articles for these discontinued awards or shall we club them together if the award count is less?
Moreover, for the Best Feature Film in each of the languages other than those specified in schedule VIII of the constitution, it has been observed that these are also awarded very inconsistently. e.g. Korborok, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Kashmiri, Khasi, Bodo, Urdu, Kodava, Tulu, Konkani, Bhojpuri, Monpa, Korborok and Dogri. Shall we create separate pages for each of these language films? Thanks. - Vivvt Talk 06:06, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
The result of the move request was: not moved. Incorrectly formatted primary topic proposal and although Dharmadhyaksha makes a decent fist of it below, there's no consensus that the Indian National Film Awards are the primary topic. No prejudice against a new multi-move that clearly states a primary topic proposal. Jenks24 ( talk) 14:55, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

– Move per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. While other awards of same name are conferred by other countries too, the basic and most common award when called for as "National Film Awards" is the one given in India. Google search results of "National Film Awards" -Wikipedia gives for many pages results which are related only to the awards given in India. In fact, its tough to even find info about other countries NFAs without adding the country's name in search. The Indian award is clearly the primary topic and should hence be moved such. Relisted.
