Does anyone have any information on the Jarls of Iceland. The men sent by the King of Norway to rule Iceland after 1261? Please see: Norwegian noble titles. Inge 17:07, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
I question the move of this article made by a user, from "List of Icelandic rulers" to "List of monarchs of Iceland". I think the current name implies that there was indeed an "Icelandic monarchy", which in reality only existed briefly from 1918 to 1944 ( Kingdom of Iceland), with Christian X of Denmark as the only ever "King (or "monarch") of Iceland". All the others have simply been rulers of Iceland as a part of either Norway or Denmark. Thhist ( talk) 17:13, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
The result of the proposal was move per request, as modified.-- Fuhghettaboutit ( talk) 02:58, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
List of monarchs of Iceland → List of Icelandic rulers – I suggest to move the article back to its previous name, which it was moved from by one user without discussion (see more in the main section above). Thhist ( talk) 21:48, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
I see every ruler is named by his English name. Is that better on this English wikipedia than the Icelandic versions they were referred to as in Iceland? (Example, Kristján X instead of Christian X.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.157.76.92 ( talk) 09:01, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
This page is nearly useless. These people did not actually govern Iceland and the current page could just as well provide links to " List of Danish rulers". What should be included/replace this content entirely is the Royal Commissioners / Governors (like Frederich Christopher Trampe, Count of Trampe) who actually administered the territory in the kings' names. — LlywelynII 18:50, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
