Not sure if it is appropriate for the page but Solasta: Crown of the Magister is based onto the 5th edition's system reference document. As such it seems to me appropriate for inclusion. Thenub314 ( talk) 10:21, 23 June 2022 (UTC)

What is up with the colour coded list that has no explanation as to what the colours mean? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.249.235.44 ( talk) 00:48, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
The game Dungeons and Dragons: Heroes has an ambiguous setting, with locations like Castle Baele and the island of Axion. It also features the character of the merchant from Dark Alliance (Forgotten Realms), mentions the gods Pelor (Greyhawk) and Moradin (Forgotten Realms & Greyhawk). My own impression is that it was meant to be FR, but ultimately they chose not to associate it with any known locale, so we can assume it's not meant to be associated. No world is mentioned or copyrighted in the manual. As such, I'm removing the unsourced mention of Greyhawk for now as it appears to be OR. 2600:8800:2382:E200:6141:C238:3728:34D2 ( talk) 17:36, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Anonymous Reader. I am happy to know that you care about this page. Before I revert 16 edits done by many users over several months, may I ask about the nature of your research ? I bet I will find it interesting, too. Maybe we can find a new version that is good for everybody. Also, how come separating video games by setting makes no sense to you ? High fantasy, gothic horror, post-apocalyptic, steampunk, and so on provide different types of immersion to the players. What am I missing ? The previous version was divided into "role-playing games" and "other genres", but the definition of role-playing video game is not unanymous. What is your wish ? -- Abacos ( talk) 23:07, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
I whole heartedly agree. Sorting by settings has made this list much harder to work with. Having to scroll down a list to find new exapnsions to old games is fine, but looking at other lists for things like NwN: Dark Dreams of Furiae, is worse. (It's Planescape while the rest of the NWN content is Forgotten Realms.)
'RPG' and 'Other' weren't great headings, but I think the point was more 'true-to-rules' type games, eg: Pool of Radiance, BG, NWN. VS everything else, eg: Hillsfar, Shadow over Mystara.
The chronogical list had practical uses, sorting by setting really doesn't. It wasn't hard to quickly pick out the handful of Darksun games if that's what you were after. Referencing multiple lists if you want to play them in order is harder.
Like the topic creator, I also used to use this page for research (I work on a licensed D&D product) and was dismayed when I discovered the list like this. BasicKobold ( talk) 21:34, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
