The "Battle" section of this entry doesn't describe any fighting at all. There are a few oblique references to "resistance" and such, but also a claim that the general Japanese surrender in early August rendered the whole issue moot. So which is it? Was there shooting or not? If not, I suggest we change the heading of that section to "Battle preparations" or something of that nature. Laodah 22:15, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
the map is in Russian - this needs to be fixed ASAP 50.111.5.135 ( talk) 21:28, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
This is sloppy talk. The invasion of the Kuril islands was part of an overall military operation that INCLUDED the Manchurian invasion - obviously, the islands were a naval/marine action. The sources should make this clear and there should be proper references. 50.111.5.135 ( talk) 21:48, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
