I would suggest that the "1st literary writer/poet" comment be changed to something "in the European tradition", as pre-European Native American literature and poetry exist. Awickert ( talk) 09:04, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

The image for this article had bogus source information so its fair use rationale was bogus. I've marked updated the image page accordingly. If anybody has the actual source info please provide it on the image page (otherwise the image should be removed).
