About me

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Minnesota and at the Saint Anthony Falls Laboratory. I research rivers, glaciers, sea-level, and water resources in the past and present ( research group page), and in particular work to understand the mechanics and rates of their response to various drivers, including climate and land-use change. I also lead Northern Widget LLC, an open-source technology company that incorporates modern technology to build high-quality field instrumentation at affordable prices.
