Concerning the split, this section seems to reflect only the position of Fair Trade USA. The World Fair Trade Organization, for example, has criticized FTUSA's withdrawal from the Fairtrade Labelling Organization as a move toward "watering down the principles of Fair Trade". Lloyd Alter of Treehugger.com criticized FTUSA's move as "the corporatizing of Fair Trade in the USA". I think some of these critiques should be incorporated in the section in question. 71.217.8.179 ( talk) 03:17, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

In this edit, the "Critics argue" paragraph was added with some problems with the references. Could someone who understands the references please decide how this should be cleaned up? Thanks! GoingBatty ( talk) 02:18, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
Thank you: problem solved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AidWorker ( talk • contribs) 09:33, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
The Criticisms... section seems to be focused more on Fair trade than on Fair Trade USA, the topic of this article. Would suggest the need for some editing there... Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld ( talk) 16:19, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
"The Fair Trade model requires rigorous protection of local ecosystems and ensures farmers work in safe conditions and receive a harvest price. In addition, annual inspections conducted by independent auditors like FLO-CERT and SCS Global Services ensure that..." This is misleading; the capitalization of the two words implies that the model belongs to Fair Trade USA, but the next sentence references "independent auditors like FLO-CERT..." They are not affiliated. If the text is referencing the fair trade model in general, the capitalization of Fair and Trade needs to be removed. If the two sentences are in fact talking about Fair Trade USA's fair trade model, the references to other certifying agencies need to be removed. Farmerleslie ( talk) 01:44, 22 November 2015 (UTC)
