Dead by Daylight was nominated as a Video games good article, but it did not meet the good article criteria at the time (May 10, 2018). There are suggestions on the review page for improving the article. If you can improve it, please do; it may then be renominated. |
In the Rift there is some lore you can unlock and it briefly talks about a man named "West" that was a journalist. Which references Frank West. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.39.185.253 ( talk) 17:04, 27 February 2020 (UTC)

Hello,
I would like to add the following information as a new section please.
== Mobile Release == On June 19, 2019, Behaviour Interactive Inc. announced their plan to release Dead by Daylight to iOS and Android for free in an attempt to make the game more accessible to players around the world.1 A different development team was formed that is fully dedicated to optimizing the game for the mobile experience. Dead by Daylight Mobile was initially slated for launch in 2019, however the developers had to push the release to 2020, citing their need for more time to work on bugs and optimize2. On February 27, 2019, Behaviour announced that the mobile versions will be published by Chinese video game publisher, NetEase Games, in southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea.3 It is slated for release in EMEA, the Americas, and South Asia on April 16, 2020.4

Since the release of the rift, a significant amount of plot information has been revealed through each tome, and that section needs to be updated. The tone seems off as well, although it's hard for me to tell. SleepForever ( talk) 18:02, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
I have amended this page to remove references to the Scream film franchise. As shown on the official Dead by Daylight website and the Steam page, Ghost Face is the exclusive property of the company that created the mask, Fun World, and its use in this game has been licensed directly from that company (just as Scream's use of the mask is a wholly separate license from that company). There has never been any official publication by Behaviour or Fun World stating any connection to the Scream franchise whatsoever. DBD's Ghost Face license is not associated in any way with Scream, and attributing it to such is false and misleading information on this page. 2604:3D09:6581:7A00:E9D0:9A7E:B184:527 ( talk) 06:43, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
My, that's silly. The situation of which company owns what is interesting, mostly for lawyers. But according to the lore, in-universe, Ghost Face is of course from, at least connected to, the film Scream. Maybe a footnote would do. -- Gott ( talk) 04:15, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
I agree with correcting this. The statement that anything is licensed from the Scream franchise in the leading paragraph of this page is wrong and in contradiction with the info on the page for Ghostface. Mottengott's argument that this is silly and we should not be concerned with Wikipedia being correct because we are not lawyers is a bad one. Also the statement that the lore connects him to the film franchise does not seem to be true. A footnote mentioning the intentional likeness would be more appropriate than a footnote that is a correction. - Ninjabell ( talk) 14:53, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

There's a quite obvious citation error in the info box. It's being caused by one to many "|" in the efn template.
It currently starts:
{{efn||Behaviour now
but should start:
{{efn|Behaviour now
You will also need to add a new section above the References section.
Add the following:
==Notes==
{{notelist}}
Thanks

The statement "as well as expanding the lore of it's in-game universe which the japanese gaming community tends to favor in video games" needs citation needed added right after. It's a big generalization and the source in the following sentence mentions this... as a quote from an opinion of one guy. If this is to remain in here, it needs to be rephrased as a quote, or provide proper sources, or add citation needed. Exhalent ( talk) 06:58, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
I really think that there should be a list of characters in the franchise made. Maybe even two separate lists. One for the Survivors and one for the Killers.
