Article with name
It seems to me that Daijirin is a name, like
Shotokutaishi or
Doraemon, and it is therefore odd to use an English article with it. In general we do not use articles with English names, except where this forms a descriptive noun phrase in English -- such as "The Shorter Oxford". So I am about to remove all definite articles from the titles (including the forerunner dictionaries).

Including the definite article before dictionary names is standard usage (for instance, see
Dictionary#History).
